What would you look for in a "genome wiki"? - http://biowiki.org/GenomeWiki
This page started off as a section for an article we're writing on JBrowse (http//jbrowse.org/). What have I missed? - Ian Holmes
I think the biggest thing is integration with an existing critical mass of users (because growing one from scratch is tough). So, how about links to/from the UCSC and Ensembl genome browsers? - Andrew Su
BTW, for consistency, you could link the Gene Wiki to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki... - Andrew Su
thanks Andrew! I've added this. - Ian Holmes
Might be nice to have a way to have a central repository with links to map published ChIP-Seq data to the genome, like GEO. I know this is dreamland, but just saying. Also, customizable tracks like UCSC has is fantastic but underutilized re: Ensembl's "Configure this page". Your drag/view is great. - Heather
I second Andrew's comment: it'd be cool to be able to 'throw' a given track in G/JBrowse onto Ensembl and/or UCSC ( 'see this region in the [other] browser'), via DAS (for Ensembl) or BED/wiggle for UCSC. I suppose the DAS route is already possible, albeit not for very dense/big sets of features. - 'Mummi' Thorisson
