"The St. Stepanos Monastery is an Armenian monastery about 15 km northwest of Jolfa city, East Azarbaijan Province northeast Iran."It was built in the 9th century and rebuilt in the Safavid era after several earthquakes damaged it. - Mary from Bookmarklet
and on the entrance doorway, an inscription left by Abbas Mirza states his contribution to the church ;)) I love the location of the church, it's by the river Aras, and it's located in a very quiet mountainous setting. - IvIohаmmасI
It's at Jolfa. - IvIohаmmасI
mikhay katibeh ye Abbas Mirzaa ro feed konam bebini? - IvIohаmmасI
Sure.I always admire your information about Iran :) - Mary
I made a correction about the content of the inscription. It was Abbas Mirza who regained the church from Russians, but what is stated in the inscriptoin has nothing to do with this. The inscription is about his contribution to the church. - IvIohаmmасI
