I had trouble with my remote at first too, I have an iPhone 3G as well but then realized that when I pulled the “pull tab” to activate the battery that there was a piece of paper that fell off causing the battery not to operate correctly. Did you check and see if anything is in the way of the battery inside the remote? If your remote still doesn’t work, I would contact the manufacturer. The remote is a big deal to me, its one of the main reason why I enjoyed using the unit so much. I would contact the seller for a refund or exchange if I were in your situation.
