the VC who told us we should be doing shopper dockets said I talk to much + shouldn't pitch to VCs. He right, I'm bad at sucking dick

Awesomesauce, You should have actually told him that. He probably would have respected it. =P - Geoff Schultz
Heh, go Duncan! Tell 'em to sit and rotate - Mo Kargas
If its supposed to end with them giving you money; shouldn't they be sucking your dick? - J. Abdul-Qahhar
Geoff, he may have heard my comment after he announced that you have to pay his group $150 just to send them your business plan for a pitch "only in Australia would you pay a VC to get f&^ked up the arse." I hope he heard it. I'll be writing a tamer version of that in the post I'll be dedicating to the subject :-) - Duncan Riley
ahmm.. with practice comes perfection you know :-) - Naor Mark
I wonder what requirements does Arrington has now days to pitch to his VCs connections? ;-) - Igor The Troll יִצְחָק
lol Duncan, and here was me thinking you took that comment really well ;) - Scott Goldie

Matthew is getting bigger and is smiling and giggling a lot. He's just now large enough to sit in the Bumbo seat, and hold his head up without rolling around. You can see in these pictures how excited he is! Sarah might be at this stage in a few weeks. (BTW - Correction: Bumbo) - Louis Gray from email
Damn, it's fun watching our kids grow up on FriendFeed. - Robert Scoble

Cute! :) - Charlie Anzman

Such an adorable babe!!! Now if only more adults could live life with such in-the-moment joy and get pleasure from the simple things like a Bumbo seat. LOL! ☺ - Mari Smith

I'm playing with cool search engine http://www.viewzi.com/ but wondering if they bring enough new value to compete with Google?
i was not happy with most of the search results. i liked the concept though. - Varun Shenoy
I would say definitely not, seens very similar to cuil.. - Nicholas Kreidberg
love it but don't give it a 2nd thought when i'm going to search for something - Zee.
If they would use that as a way of displaying things social media results that would work. Search results carry too many variables to make it successful - David Jaeger
Its cute, but so was SearchMe - Amber, Random Time Lord
agree with Amber, its like SearchMe and i liked it more. too much emphasis on looks and content-wise is behind other search engines i use. so i wont use it now. - Hayk H.
Search engines are a great new startup biz - as long as you're a niche player. No Google killers. - Mike Reynolds
Hayk - we USE the search engines you use... timeline is google, simple text is a smashup of google and yahoo, four sources is goog, y!, ms and ask, poweruser grid is google... So we put most of our energy in the UX because we use the big search engines and API's from other sites to provide the content. Did you compare our results with the engine you use daily? - giovanni gallucci
Google is such a giant, and for good reason...they built a top notch product. Any new kid on the block has a huge mountain to climb just to put forth a competitive product...not for the faint of heart - Susan Beebe
As Giovanni says, the search is build upon already existing services. I find Viewzi to be quite nice user interface to search and while I still haven't used it more than just few times I will be testing more of it since it totally has much to offer. - Daniel Schildt
10 seconds to show results + 3 seconds delay to open a new tab = fail. Nice UI, but that's all. - Mladen Srdić
impressive collection of search UIs... will be interesting when the service will pick automatically the best view based on type of query and user preferences - Bertrand Doux

Excellent link to the David Brooks column, Robert. It's well worth reading. - Ken Kennedy
David Brooks's column is a mish-mash of received wisdom. "Authority" is needed - grudgingly accepted in the form of a bailout, but cetainly not "government regulation"! Claiming "Europeans, apparently, have not even begun to acknowledge their toxic debt" after four consecutive quarters of UBS write-downs (totaling, before today's write-down, 44 billion dollars) should disqualify one from being taken seriously as an economic commentator. - Michael Hellein

Good bye iTunes store. Hello Amazon MP3 Downloads. Cheaper, and DRM free. Gots the new Thievery Corp
I love Amazon MP3 - my preferred store - Jesse Stay
it's not available outside of the US, so doesn't get a like from me - Ben
I have been using amazon since launch. DRM free, AAC-free, compatible & reasonable quality. and the catalog is up to snuff as well. - Doug Haslam from twhirl
I'll never be a fan of any of these sites until they start offering lossless files. - Akiva Moskovitz
(sigh) I wish they'd hurry up and make this available in Canada. - cecily
This is available on emusic now (in Canada too!). I subscribe for 30 downloads/month at $11.99 so this 15 track album is effectively $6 there for DRM free MP3s. On Amazon it's $9. [Shameless mode: ON] If you're thinking of signing up their 'Tell A Friend' (Tell a FriendFeed?) program could score 50 free tracks for both of us. Let me know... :-) [Shameless mode: OFF] - Andrew Codrington
I also <3 Amazon's MP3 store - Alex Scoble
If you can tell the difference between a 240kb MP3 and lossless, Akiva, then that's OK. I cannot, even on my home theater system. - Alex Scoble
I've been using the Amazon MP3 store from the first day it opened. The only time I used the iTunes store since was when I got a giftcard for it for Christmas. - Mathew™ one of a kind
I hope that's not the official Forrester recommendation. :-) - Louis Gray
I haven't even searched iTunes for new music since Amazon opened their store. I see no advantage to iTunes right now. The Amazon catalog may be smaller, but I'm finding more than enough to buy. - Kevin C. Tofel
Amazon is my backup if I can't find it on eMusic.com. - mrshl
Welcome. We've been waiting for you. =) - Mike Smith
I love Amazon Mp3, but they don't have everything. I'm using Linux now, so if what I want is only on ITunes, I'm SOL (I think - someone PLEASE prove me wrong). - Helen Sventitsky
One of the advantages of iTunes is that i can buy straight from my iPhone. Thats a tough advantage to beat. - Roberto Bonini
big fan of Amazon too - Chris Selland
@jstorerj has been espousing the virtues of Amazon's music store for the same reasons your list. I may have to make the switch soon. - Aaron Strout from twhirl
I have been using it more and more, their selection is still a bit bare. - Spencer
I love Thievery Corporation, been to two concerts, getting the "Radio Retaliation" album right now, thanks for the tip. My first buy on Amazon MP3 and I hope it will work well with my iTunes, we'll see :-) - Frederik Hermann

Over a year ago my Church gave money to the congregation to do something meaningful with. I never could think of anything to do with the $2 I recieved. I just pulled it out of my Bible and now I know what I will do. THank you for starting such a wonderful project Thomas. :D - ChiliMac from twhirl
perfect ... in asia i did something similar ... all film though ... awesome ... here in the states i usually just ask for the person to tell me a joke as well - mostly video work ... smiles & laughter - freely invaluable !!! great stuff !!! - Scott Moskowitz
I'm loving these shots. Nice idea for a group. - Chris Nixon
I read that first blog and loved the idea. Thanks for a great new group. - Becca

Erin @queenofspain
I'd like you to meet the newest contributor to BlogHer...Michelle Obama http://www.blogher.com/lets-ta...
Michelle Obama joins BlogHer.com as a contributor! - Erin @queenofspain
this is great. really. congrats to Michelle for stepping up and i look forward to reading her thoughts about the upcoming election and related issues. - Harrison Wise
Sadly, the inaugural post is pretty lame. Nothing but campaigning for her husband. - Alexei Tolkachev
One of the many reasons I'm such a fan of the Obamas - they are so ready and willing to engage on every possible level with voters. Can't wait to read more. - Carla Thompson
@Erin: Never heard of her... Who is she? - Chris Reed
Oh come on Alexei. It's her first post. Many more to come. I know I've changed from my first post-haven't you? - Erin @queenofspain
@alexei Beg to differ. Campaigning to get Obama elected is topic A. You don't have to be a kool aid drinker to know we need a regime change. - Michael Markman
I was just hoping it would be more personal and fresh than that. Could have talked about the New Yorker cover, what sights she expects to see in Europe, how the kids are coping with the pressures of the campaign, anything. I will wait for the follow-up patiently. - Alexei Tolkachev
She wrote it. She will also be chiming in on comments. She plans on being a real part of the community. - Erin @queenofspain
Might have been the other thread Vincent... - Erin @queenofspain
@alexei why talk about the new yorker cover? stirring mud is stirring mud. her post was a goo dintro if you didn't know anything about her, other than she's the wife of the democratic president nominee. - keif from twhirl
hmmm two threads - one by Aaron one by Erin - whose will receive more "likes" and comments? hehe - Marco(aureliusmaximus)
always a competition! (and ME, geez) - Erin @queenofspain
This is fantastic! BlogHer continues to be an amazing, positive event year after year. Good stuff! - Nathaniel Payne
I look forward to Michelle Obama's thoughts on the campaign/her life. She's a huge asset to Obama's campaign, and I hope her posts won't be too constrained by campaign needs. I'd really love to hear from *her*. - Ayşe E.
@Erin - I originally read as "Michell Malkin." Head nearly exploded. - James Joyner
i hope she will continue posting after her husband was elected :) - Timo Heuer
Let's not forget she is trying to get her husband elected. I suspect it will be a bit of both. I do believe she is committed to engaging though. Which excites me. I mean, you are the guys who went nuts over a few congressmen twittering. They were working on getting a message out too you know. - Erin @queenofspain
i've said it before but its worth repeating: its also a little unfair that people demand more impromptu expression for political figures but then jump all over the slightest error in phrasing that is bound to occur. I promise you that candidates are always looking for ways to express themselves more clearly but when anyone can take a 5 second sound bite with no context whatsoever and turn it into a salacious and viral you tube video it gives candidates a huge incentive to stay "on message" - Marco(aureliusmaximus)
@Erin: Which congresspeople are twittering? Any senators? - Alexei Tolkachev
@aaron and so is Michelle. So I'm excited...lol. #suckit - Erin @queenofspain
Sounds good but left me feeling they were not her own words. Like she was speaking what we wanted to hear rather than what she really feels. It's too bad Mrs. Obama hasn't been posting on her own blog regularly and instead chose to be a contributor at Blogher to share these messages. Too bad she couldn't reference past posts written on her own blog BEFORE she was on the campaign trail. That hurts her credibility somewhat in this instance, I'm afraid. - TDavid
@tdavid she wasn't a blogger before this. We approached her to become one. And now she is. So I am confident like many of us learned how to blog, she will as well. - Erin @queenofspain
Erin - I know, that's my point. She should have started her own blog first and she would sound a heckuva lot more believable. - TDavid
I trust you will point her in the direction of a perfect laptop :-) - Richard Binhammer
lol Richard - Erin @queenofspain
I'm glad to see this, Erin -- and congrats. But that first one read like a campaign pitch. She should be told that. - Chris Baskind
