Keep spreading the word, I've been using this method for a while now and it works like a charm. F paying 99 cents for your ringtones.

I know it's not really a free solution perse but another method is have Audio Hijack capture the audio from iTunes Music Store. The music preview (~30 seconds) should suffice as a ringtone.

Hm...I don't know. Granted this is a way of record companies for getting royalties, but it's also a way for other artists that are registered for BMI or ASCAP (e.g. me) to get paid as well.

FYI - looks like there is a builtin checker beforehand at least: 'This update will cause some of your extensions and/or themes to stop working until they are updated' - The following items are not compatible 'Tab Mix Plus' ... argh.. I'll pass for now, it was bad enough getting that to work with FF3

From the comments here (and on Digg, etc.) it appears this still isn't auto-updating for everyone ... use 'help' then 'check for updates'. No extension problems that I'm aware of.

It told me only Gears would be disabled, then disabled a whole list of things, not including gears. I regret clicking OK now. Perhaps the version compatibility checking is a tad aggressive?

I kind of wish I could splice someone's tweets into their Friendfeed stream just for my viewing, the same way I create imaginary friends. there are a couple people who don't import tweets but whose tweets I'd like to see in their feed anyhow.

Sorry nathan and David. I've actually stopped syndicating my ff over there, and most people have tweets hidden over here, so I can re-add twitter syndication if you like. It will be pretty spotty though, I do days between tweets sometimes.

don't do it for my sake... I was just sort of musing, on principle, that it would be interesting, as a Friendfeed feature, to be able to splice new feeds into your friends identities (privately, for your own viewing). For example some folks don't import their del.icio.us posts, but if I really want to see them, wouldn't it be handy if I could just tell Friendfeed their del.icio.us username and see their posts on my friends page spliced in with the rest of their feed.

Ok, sorry for the wishy-washiness, but I did re-add my twitter feed here in FF. But I stopped syndicating everything on twitter, since I don't use it much it felt like I was just advertising over there. So just tweets from me from now on (on Twitter).

Nothing wrong with disconnecting your Twitter feed. I've only come to use my Twitter when I am not at a computer and, I need to update something via the mobile. I do have Twitter followers who are not FriendFeed users so, it's become almost like having two separate services instead of one integrated service.

Looking at the screen shots, each slice represents different folders ie: My Documents, My Music, My Videos etc., so basically it's a fancy flash drive...I can't even use a multi tasking mouse. This is WAY too high tech for me =\

It's going to be a tough thing. There's a ton of sites with game guides already in place like WeGame.com and..of course the popular Warcraftmovies.com . They've got their competition in line but, I'd be interested to see how it pans out.

I'd beg to differ. If you want to talk about WeGame.com one of the most well-known machinima makers in World of Warcraft (Oxhorn) is a very big member of the company who also does a weekly video blog. Warcraftmovies.com holds some rather well-known personalities with the WoW player base as well. They've got some competition.

The Geek media, Competition is good, I think there is something for everyone if there is competition. What I am trying to say, there are some sites out there that are "MEDIA" org's (I.e G4) who are only thinking of the bottom line. These guys are "PLAYA's.." :-) Why is it that Diggnation, and TRS work? Other follks have done the same thing, these guys though and their personalities are what make the shows. You can't just put a "GAMER DUDE" up and expect to do well, you have to have personality.
