"Perhapsyou should reframe the question as: how can I DEFUND my existence. Monetarism has led to a lot of systemic and recursive problems. How can we escape the tyranny of the monetary world view?"

"Email privacy turns out to be kind of a difficult problem. There are various PGP implementations that do a good job of secure encryption ; however they require both sender and recipient to use PGP. Since most people have no idea what that means, and since there is no widespread free simple-to-use implementation on par with Gmail, it's an uphill battle."

"Personally I am still using my aging HTC Droid Incredible with CM7 and am very satisfied with it. I plan to keep it until my contract ends. This is the first Smartphone that has ever satisfied my needs so well for so long. I think device proliferation may confuse consumers, but on the other hand we are seeing very rapid evolution. Much faster than Apple can match with its infrequent iterations. Android has had some growing pains, but I don't think that means manufacturers need to emulate Apple. Just my 2 cents."

"Calls to boycott the Susan B. Kommen Foundation are missing the point. Anti-choice activists have staged a strategic, hostile takeover of the leadership of a beneficial Foundation. The proper strategy is to dislodge the hostile leaders, not to attack an beneficial organization."

"A cyanogen app store is a brilliant idea, and is sorely needed as a counterbalance to Google, Amazon and the cellular carriers. Also a good revenue opportunity to help fund cyanogen development."

"When even a nazi boot-licker like Perrito recoils in horror of the Teaps, it really makes you wonder what the future holds for this schizoid country. I guess human sacrifice will always appeal to the masses. What they want is a candidate who is willing to publicly eviscerate the opposition, then eat the still-beating heart in order to placate an angry god. Perrito just doesn't have the stones for it. But I'm sure someone will pop up by election day.. eat your heart out, neoliberulz..."

"I tried Nevernote awhile back, and while I give props to the developers for making the effort, I found it so slow and awkward to use, I gave up on it. Instead, I recommend Zotero http://zotero.org or Mendeley http://mendeley.com both of which are similar to Evernote but far more Linux-friendly. Also, Zotero and Mendeley are far better tools than Evernote for managing research citations."

"Two sides to Google's crypto-fascist coin: business and government. In typical revolving-door style. To paraphrase Benito Mussolini, fascism may more accurately be called corporatism, for it is the merger of corporations with the State. What corporations cannot do, the State may be made to do. What the State cannot do, corporations may be made to do. The corporate-State doesn't want anyone hiding behind pseudonyms, unless they do so as agents of the corporate-State."
