You can probably assume ::-ms-input-placeholder and ::placeholder for future compatibility.

Just an update: [IE10 will be supporting the Flexible Box Layout](http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us...). Furthermore, they are marketing it heavily for Windows 8 Metro App development. That said, I see the possibility of its common use much more likely down the road.
