I hate to say it but this song really lost cool points when I started hearing it in the UPS commercials. I still like it but I couldn't listen to anything off of this album for awhile. *noses in the air*
- Mark Warren
I lost 14,000+ mp3s a few weeks ago... thankfully recovered about half of them but I'm slowly getting them back into my library. I suppose this would be a little extra motivation - so I'm not just sharing the same things over and over. ;)
- Mark Warren
yay! also rapatton, cecily, michelle jones, james ferguson, kyle hebert, j. phil, akiva moskowitz, trent olson...

I was kinda scared off by the rssmeme takedown request, so I'm only adding feeds if the person personally requests that I do so.
- Ontario Emperor
@Ontario Some people can get touchy. Starting conservative is often a good call until you've got 100-200 room members.
- Mitchell Tsai
no problem, ontario. just hoping they'll see their name. actually, guess i should put a comment like that on my other post, outside the room...
- edythe
"Thanks Micah! You were one of the people I started following months ago (both here and on Twitter) as I was familiarizing myself with the community. So, in a way, you've contributed to getting me here. Hopefully we'll run into each other at some point soon."
- Mark Warren
BlogHer!!! Since BlogHer's founders live out here along the coast of California (Lisa Stone lives a few miles from me) will you be hanging out in Half Moon Bay more often?
- Robert Scoble
Thanks everyone, and yes Robert I'm sure I shall see you here and there as I travel to visit the office from time to time :)
- Erin @queenofspain
Congrats Erin! If anyone deserves it it's you!
- Summer
Congratulations. It is good to see hard work and passion pay off. :)
- Yolanda
Erin: cool, we can meet at the Half Moon Bay Peets and make Chris Pirillo jealous. :-)
- Robert Scoble
will this be the 1st professional mummyblogger ?? :)- Con'grats and all the best. Keep doing your best, we'll keep clapping !
- Peter Dawson
I knew it! I was sure it was BlogHer. Congratu-friggin-lations Erin. They are lucky to have you. Can't wait to read your coverage from the conventions!
- Carla Thompson

- Erin @queenofspain
That s a great choose for you and team. Go on Erin, I want to "Like" your first special project! ;-)

Well, I checked out the link not knowing what to expect, not particulary my thing but my girlfriend loves me for showing her!! Kudos, I'm a hero!!

"Been here for less than 2 months and wondering why/how I let myself be trapped in the Florida Panhandle for 11 years. The community here was a major factor in wanting to live here. The few people that I have met have all been very cool people. I don't even have a place to live yet but, for once, it feels like I've made the right choice."
- Mark Warren
I always get a chuckle from "There are 10 kinds of people in the world. Those who understand binary and those who don't."
- Mark Warren
from twhirl
There are two kinds, males and, and, wait, it's coming to me. I'm sure there is another. hmmm... I should have paid attention in school.
- Eban Crawford
You mean it wasn't about getting busy with Ms. Walker?
- Michael W. May
Brian, I guess I look beyond some of that, as well as Hendrix's sometimes inane lyrics. "The Wind Cries Mary" is one of my favorite songs, despite the hippie blue light special. Jimi could make a guitar sing - something that Eddie Van Halen could never do.
- Ontario Emperor
from fftogo
I might be biased because I learned to play guitar as I learned his music, but I think it sounds awesome. He really does make that guitar do some things it probably wasn't meant to.
- Rahsheen ™, Coach Rah
I remember being a wee lad as someone played a scratchy Woodstock LP and hearing that Star Spangled Banner. I've been a fan ever since.
- Michael W. May
Rahsheen, (1) I just realized I may have misspelled your name in another thread. If so, I apologize. (2) As far as I'm concerned, Clapton, Hendrix, and Page are the top guitarists in my book. In their capable hands, a guitar could truly be a melodious instrument...or a raging noise. Perhaps Slash comes close, but I can't think of another guitarist who can do that.
- Ontario Emperor
from fftogo
@ontario: no love for jeff beck? whom clapton and page followed in the yardbirds back in the day? i think, he may be the best (rock) guitarist living today (if hendrix was alive today, he would be). just two cents, er, chords. lolz
- .LAG liked that
.LAG you literally took the words out of my mouth(or keyboard).
- Mark Forman
No offense to Beck; I just haven't heard enough of him to judge one way or another.
- Ontario Emperor
from fftogo
Because they haven't been mentioned yet, and without opinion in this typing of them, I give you the names: Aldo Nova and Yngwie Malmsteen *grin*
- Michael W. May
I have the sudden urge to bring the f'n fury.
- Mark Warren
from twhirl
Who else feels like they are back in school? *cackle*
- Michael W. May
Brian - I forgot about Brian May. I haven't heard enough of Frampton's actual playing (rather than the vocoder thingie) to judge him, though Bill Wyman spoke highly of him in his autobiography.
- Ontario Emperor
The only reason I'm thinking about getting cable hooked up at my house is sports. I can watch almost all of the rest of my television via my apple tv and my pc hooked ot my tv.
- Andrew
It will be interesting to see if the NFL make this programming available to those of us outside the US
- Matt Hooper
I am curious if this will be a full-blown online feed of the games or like the free live feeds that they started doing late last season. Those were a little frustrating, since more than 50% of the time it was not showing the game at all.
- Mark Warren
Mark, it will be one game a week -- only the Sunday night games broadcast via NBC.
- Robert Seidman
I get that. What I mean is- they did something very similar last year. I believe it was just the Sunday Night game. But most of the time, it was in an NFL.com studio and they had analysts talking about the game instead of just showing the game.
- Mark Warren
why they can't follow mlb's lead... oh yah, they are greedy and controlling.
- Tim Hoeck
Mark, unlike last year this will allegedly be the same feed of the game that broadcasts on NBC. Tim Hoeck. You bet. MLB extra innings is available on cable, satellite and online. But NFL Sunday Ticket is only available via DirecTV which pays more than a little bit for that exclusive. For a few reasons I'm guessing within a few years it will be similar to MLB.
- Robert Seidman
I like this idea but NFL is best experienced in HD
- Andrew Smith
Andrew, I couldn't find the details on the stream quality, but absolutely, for the ultimate switch it has to be HD. It's a start anyway...
- Duncan Riley
Okay, cool. Thanks for the clarification, Robert. Andrew- I agree. Once I saw it in HD, it's hard to watch a game any other way. Although, I found myself suffering through more than one Dolphins game last year via SOPcast.
- Mark Warren
Duncan, sports in HD via the net will be tricky. You can get LOST in HD via the net and it looks as good as the HD version on the DVR or on-demand, but you can't compress sports as much without pixilation and the simultaneous demand for live sporting events is nothing like the demand for TV shows.
- Robert Seidman
Robert, agreed, tech still has to catch up. But don't think that smart folk aren't already experimenting with ways to do this.
- Duncan Riley
As soon as they figure it out, broadband providers will set up bandwidth quotas and charge you for more to make sure they get their cut.
- Jason Carreira
I suspect however that the 'power users' aren't being affected by it yet :(
- Lucretia Pruitt
I just really dislike the complete arbitrary nature of it. I can't understand how there's not another solution to achieving whatever it is that they're trying to achieve by doing this.
- Mark Warren
In an attempt to add intellectual political comment to FriendFeed, I just want to say that if Milton Friedman were to become Abraham Lincoln's running mate in 2008, all of the rules of space and time would be broken.
