yep, my article addressed that bit.ly has issues with bots. but the point is that if you look at only the log files and recorded referrers versus page requests for a tweeted link, I had a 500% difference. That's not down to bots. Analytics programs are missing out, too. The truth is between.

We see this happen a lot with RSS feeds too. Name your Javascript based analytics tool, they all under-report traffic and advertisements from RSS feeds. Posts like yours will help educate the market on problems with tracking new media destinations using Javascript based analytics tools.

I am seeing a huge disparity between my Posterous stats and Google Analytics as well.

well this will certainly make people think again about twitter's power to direct traffic

Remember stuffing binders in 2005? And not being able to use the Google backpacks because they narrowed at the top like all the fab new backpacks did that year? I cannot believe Phil came to do more teacher-type work that day. I think that's when I developed a crush on him. Just finished the galley! Genius.

Liking for the original 2005 BlogHer crew shout out, for memories from Melinda re: our bag stuffing day & fun with Phil. Good times!

I like that they have expanded the notifications to other lists - but I would *kill* for the ability to pick different IM's for each list

I finally found a use for the FF desktop app: instead of producing a constant stream (like just another twitter client) I program it for groups, friends I need to follow on the fly. It's very quick to add another alert, or pair it down if the stream gets too dense (ie: unreadable) or annoying. But, the most important missing element is to be able to create alerts for saved searches.

WOT (Web of Trust) rates every site for trustworthiness, vendor reliability, privacy, and child safety, and shows you the results using simple-to-scan coloured icons. (Red for bad, green for good.) When you do a search in Google or another website, you'll see the icons and know what you're in for if you visit.

Robert Scoble , your not on there...wazzup wit dat?..
- Bill Heslin
That's pretty compelling that these stories are coming straight from Twitter then. Any independently written story would have listed you, cause, duh.
- Matthew DeVries
This is like one of those "Top 100 Guitar gods" lists and they don't include Hendrix.
- Matthew DeVries
Wait, Robert doesn't appear in everyone's Twitter stream by default?
- invariant - farewell FF
lol justine on there - wonder if she wasnt a default would she be listed? so many others who should have been included.. oh well - remember these lists are linkbait first
- Allen Stern
lol invariant. I thought that also..default signup. Robert Scoble is your new bestest friend...
- Bill Heslin
surprised they have Neil Gaiman @neilhimself but not Christopher Moore @theauthorguy I think it is because Moore just tweets bad jokes even though he writes good books LOL
