This guy Rafe sure does have a lot of Twitter followers. What don't I know about him?
- Daniel J. Pritchett
Dude, Rafe is the man...sittin next to the man
- Bwana ☠
MrTweet told me to like Rafe, I just don't know the guy. I'm sure he's cool and was hoping for a quick blurb by way of explanation. I guess his LinkedIn profile tells me what I needed to know?

This is pretty minor, but where did the service icons next to each item disappear to? It is graphically pleasing and a definite time-saver to easily determine which service an item is from. Also, the icon section of my page that shows the services I use only has five icons there--even though the items from all the other services are still shown in the main feed section. It is a beta, but I just don't like it very much.

Daniel, I liked him when I caught him on a buzz out loud a while ago...

Eric: their focus group killed them. I like this method better after getting used to it.

You can use the pause button on top of the new Friendfeed. It helps me a lot.
- Alexis Bellido
Robert: Okay, thanks. I guess I understand where the "We hate the new Facebook redesign" people are coming from now. This Friendfeed refresh is not bad, and I can certainly get used to it, but I liked it as it was and didn't see a pressing need to switch. Is there a technical reason why they can't offer users a choice b/w the two styles?
- Eric Geller
Eric: eventually yes. The new design lets them do a lot of things that aren't possible on the old design. Especially with search and filtering.

Steve: We built our own URL shortener, it's true. I thought there would come a time when people would stop trusting generic shorteners, or one of the majors would go offline. So I convinced some folks here to make our own, so a) users would know the short links weren't spam, and b) I'd know we could use it without worrying about it going offline. Currently, we only use it for our own links.

Hey I lost my car keys on twitter.Anyone see them?
- Mark Forman
I was unclear, I think; I don't know if the entries are disappearing. I just meant the feature had temporarily disappeared, as in, it's disabled. My fault for trying to be too succinct.

"It's dead as far as progress, updates, or other signs of life. As a product it has a lot of good things going for it. But, any company that has no updates or news for a year -- is effectively dead, if not actually dead."

"what about how it compares with firefox 3??"
- The Product Guy
Sure it's fast, but it does not compare to the functionality and features of Firefox 3 (And well, even 2). Also FF3 is pretty darn fast itself :)

Netflix enters the Net-to-TV video race with the introduction of a $99.99 player that enables its members to stream up to 10,000 movies and TV shows. The company has let paying members of its DVD-by-mail service watch content on their computers for some t

Interesting, but not quite there yet. What I'd really love is the ability to watch Netflix movies through my Apple TV, but I have a feeling that's not going to happen any time soon. This just adds yet another box next to the TV, and what's worse, I need to keep my PC on while I use it, eating up more electricity.
- Raoul Pop
it would be even better if they had movies worth downloading
- The Product Guy
Looks like the PC doesn't need to be on while you watch... but you need it manage your Queue and select movies for streaming

I never did use Facebook much myself. And I signed up more than a decade ago.

Facebook is just another web services company. In the near future, social networking is giong to be a feature, not an end in itself. Their only real hope is that they can get more sites to adopt FB Connect.

"There are many more options than I will be able to cover in this series; that is why I had to limit the scope to the most popular. (I could spend every day, from now to the end of the year, and would probably be still reviewing more wikis. )"
