FriendFeed: "We will make sure that people do non-computer-y things tonight, such as hang out with people in person. To do this, we will inflict duck hunt on everyone using FriendFeed." Me: "AAaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhh"

"Prosecutors in Kerrville will review the case of a woman who’s accused of calling 911 to complain that her husband was refusing to eat his dinner. A police report says when officers arrived at the couple’s home, the 53-year-old woman was also yelling "about things that happened two weeks ago." Two 911 calls were placed on Friday from the couple’s home. One was a hang-up. In the other, a woman was heard screaming and in response, officers were dispatched to the residence. Kerrville officer Paul Gonzales said she told police "her husband did not want to eat his supper." Police say the woman has called 911 about 30 times over six months for non-emergency reasons. In one case, she reported she could not find her clothes. She now faces charges of 911 abuse."

My grandson wanted Avatar (the TV show) stuff for Christmas but they got rid of that stuff for the movie stuff which he hasn't seen yet. So I bought him Transformers instead.
- Judy Jones
I have been so confused over these movies.....I had some geek friends explain it to me REAL SLOW....
- Katie is Frittering
A few months ago, blogs I read were up in arms about the casting of Avatar (the movielization of the TV show), so I assumed Avatar was that movie. Very confused.
- Betsy (bentley) Vera
I don't know you Josh, but I completely love Aang and feel as you do... WHY INDEED did James Cameron have to choose THAT title! Hex on him and his movie! LOL
- Lennie Simpson
I remember that, Betsy! That's probably what had me so confused about this movie.
- Penguin It's Cold Outside
I had no idea the two were not related. Shows how much attention I've paid.
- Curtiss Grymala
I figured the blue people were in the episodes I hadn't watched yet.
- Betsy (bentley) Vera
lol I hope so. I figured I'd get smacked if I got someone else sick for the holidays, am holed up in my office. :)
- Archangel ωαřмaiden
That's nice of you. It's unfortunate one of my coworkers decided to bring her flu to the staf holiday party. I will smack her if I am sick over Christmas
- Alan Simpson
Way to step it up, there CW! Thanks! Thanks, joey. I really like this pic, too. :)
- Josh Haley
btw, Trish is still asleep. She and I (mostly she) were up almost all night with sick baby Zoe, who wouldn't stop crying. Trish is the best. THE BEST, I TELL YA!
- Josh Haley
Happy 15th Josh and Trish. You guys are the best couple I know (other than Mom and Dad....and Tom and Katie....and Ren and Stimpy). Congrats to you both! Good job raising 4 great kids too!
- Morgan Haley

Dude, you were kind of a badass back in the day with your Hawaiian print and Jurassic Park cup. What happened? ;-)
- Jason, Incognito
Still got the Hawaiian print and the movie-themed cups.
- Josh Haley
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY! We're only a couple of years behind you (our 13th was last month). We'll catch up eventually, though. ;-)

You two are such an amazing couple -- and who in the world is that smokin' hot dude on the left! ;)
- Mona Nomura
Ha! That's the dude I had to fight and kill to win over Trish. ;) Thanks, Mona
- Josh Haley
You and Trish give me hope that there is such a thing as happily ever afters :) All you need is a sense of humor and tons of love. Thanks for sharing your lives with us and happy anniversary!

No, it's all good. You said "Bottoms up" which I will admit, I don't hear very often even in English. But `okole is an automatic laugh word for me, since it means BUTT, BOTTOM, REAR, ASS. *giggle*
- Josh Haley
To Josh-n-Trish, Happy Anniversary, you crazy kids! <3

We are having Sonic blasts now. It's cold enough that the perishables in the back will last. FYI Morgan, the ingredients for toffee butter crunch are in the back, too. You deserve a million bucks, but you'll have to settle for yummy candy. Thanks all!

I heard a song this morning, that started off like Whodini. Then some chick started singing over it, ruining it. I'm going to assume it was this Lady Gaga person I've seen people talk about.

My boy is 13 years old today!! Avynn almost came to us on Friday the 13th, but he held out for 21 more minutes and came on the 14th instead. I can't believe it's been 13 years! Happy Birthday, sweetie!! - http://www.flickr.com/photos...

I lived in a divided house once, and the landlord lived in one of the units. When that was the case, the slightest problems with the place were fixed before you even noticed them, cracked caulking, noisy toilets, etc. Then he got a new house, moved into it, and rented his former unit. It then became damn near impossible to get him to fix anything that went wrong with the place (including the CO detectors going off if the windows weren't open by furnace)

Looking at FF for other issues (hah), I learned that comment and likes counts are no longer increasing. At least, mine are stuck. They aren't increasing as I like/comment on things.
- Rochelle
Friendfeed does have an issue on their server that can cause problems using the site with certain proxies and security software. It started a few weeks ago. They are not responding to HTTP 1.0 requests correctly. It makes it impossible to like, comment, expand comments on some pages unless you open the post in a new tab. It also causes some pages to never load completely. I did report...

I guess the joke is obvious, but I'll just spell it out anyway: his conclusion focused on the fuel pump which doesn't even exist in a vehicle with a gravity feed fuel system. HELLO?!?

Geez! That's as bad a suggesting a bent pushrod on an overhead cam engine!

"Although Romano is the keystone of the group, it is very much an ensemble drama buoyed by writing that protects the characters from the perils of self-pity and self-indulgence with quick and gentle humor and plot points that capture the forces a middle-aged, middle-class man might actually battle. There is no judgment in "Men of a Certain Age" because at a certain time of life, every decision is questionable. Divorce, marriage and promiscuity are equally confining, and the excruciating tension between desire and responsibility plague us all. Considering Romano's sound-stage, laugh-track-laden past, "Men of a Certain Age" is strangely and effectively subdued -- by giving the show many exterior scenes, the worries and obsessions of the characters are kept in literal perspective. Braugher and Hamilton are particularly wonderful to watch as a couple who, having started their family a bit later than some, just can't afford a midlife crisis. Romano conveys a heartbreaking air of perpetual...

I really really like all these actors, even Ray Romano. Also, I think Andre might be a candidate for Next Black Actor to Play God Himself.

Nice to have you join us, Eoghan. Make sure Bren shows you the ropes. No, not THOSE ropes, the other ones!

Okay, you lot are just nasty. I think I am going to like it here.

Welcome aboard the Starship Titanic. Have a safe journey. :D

- Eoghan Sullivan
*snicker* In the grand realm of nasty I am but a mild blip. Promise =D
- FFing Enigma (aka Tina)
any friend of Bren's has to be good peoples or be getting paid a whole lot of money. either way, I'm sure you'll have fun here. Welcome!
- pea
He's got no money to pay, pea, so I must be good people. :) (just don't tell the folks who owe me favours)
- Eoghan Sullivan
Don't let Tina fool you. We're so nasty here, we actually offend 2 Live Crew.
- tinypants - Hagitha of FF
Please note that I said *I* was but a mild blip on the nastiness radar. I make no assertions regarding the nastiness of the rest of you FFers o_O
- FFing Enigma (aka Tina)
Did we get to see a photo of this Eoghan character yet?
- Rochelle
Dammit, and here I was totally romanticizing your name. But Owen's good too. :D
- tinypants - Hagitha of FF
@Rochelle: not that I've seen. For all we know, it could be Bren talking to himself. OOOOOH, maybe it's Bren's shriveled arm with its own account now? :P
- tinypants - Hagitha of FF
@Eoghan - that can't be good. He's got 20 years of dirt on me.
- Tony Del Porto
he's only ever said good things, Tony. The fact that you broke out the Gaelic in your greeting is proof enough for me. :)
- Eoghan Sullivan
Eoghan sounds like Owen? Cool! I'm saying this as someone who read Sean O'Casey in school and pronounced Sean like "Seen", as in "Be Seen, Not Heard." (I didn't get out much in those days!)
- Mark "Mr Bolivious" J
Heh. My wife and I just spent 10 days driving around the Isle. My Gaelic is limited to that, "Sláinte" and "Go Mall"
- Tony Del Porto
I wouldn't have guessed Owen. I guess I'm not that good at Gaelic, despite my Irish ancestry.

Wow. I was pronouncing it like Egan. Last month, this woman emailed and asked how to pronounce my last name, and signed off with "Tanya (Tahn-ya)" and then her last name, which was like a dozen complicated letters or so. What the hell possessed her to teach me how to pronounce her first name and not her last is beyond me. (But, I also didn't care either way.)
