Here! (Been in the New Forest this weekend, where they haven't heard of cell phones or 3G, apparently.. "the Inter-what?")
- Andrew Terry
Upgraded one set of parents to Windows 7 yesterday morning (let us never speak of it again) followed by the other set of parents popping down yesterday evening to all get steaming drunk, so no FF for me then. Today should see a little bit more activity.
- Mark H
Andrew: I believe the New Forest ponies generate interference in the 1900-1980 MHz range.
- Mark H
Hey, Andrew. New Forest is wonderful. My Aunt leaves not too far from there.
- Kol Tregaskes
Mark, I need to upgrade my laptop and my Mum's machine to the full Windows 7 in the next week or two.
- Kol Tregaskes
Here's hoping you don't have the SIS 900 fast ethernet adapter to contend with (Win 7 didn't install drivers for it so that killed the net connection which made things "tricky" for a while) or allegedly fine onboard AC97 sound that then proceeded to only generate sound from the right stereo speaker when the speaker config was set up as quadrophonic and balanced to the rear left...
- Mark H
Not good, Mark. No, mine computers have Windows 7 RC, so I just need to upgrade the last 2 to the full version but the 2 hour switch thingy starts in March.
- Kol Tregaskes
Here! It's also only 6:50AM on Sunday the west coast so I expect the crowd will be thin for the next few hours, at least.
- Rochelle
Still around but spending more of my time on Buzz.

I'm here via mobile. Didn't know about the outage. We were moving yesterday so I'm glad I missed it. Internet is hooked up at the new house but I don't have my PCs or router set back up yet.

Hi Kol!! I'm a late riser today so I missed all the good mornings. :)
- Rachel Lea Fox
It's good to have a nice lie-in once in a way. :-)
- Kol Tregaskes
Kol/Mark - New Forest was really lovely; saw loads of the wild ponies, went for a bike ride; lunch at a pub (of course), but the lack of 3g coverage meant no Twitter, no Friendfeed... felt a bit disconnected (no pun intended!)
- Andrew Terry
Andrew, kinda similar while I was up in Oldham. OK it was for work and on a laptop but they block everything and I didn't get on the net at the hotel.
- Kol Tregaskes
Just because Kol told everyone on Buzz to do some 'follow back' syncing of the two (which is a good idea), I had to come back in its native form, lemme finish that comment over there... 8) http://www.google.com/buzz...

استفاده از فیلتر یو-وی چنین تاثیری تو عکسها نداره و بیشتر به عنوان محافظ لنز استفاده میشه- عکاسی یو-وی یا انفررد مطلبی جداگانه است

I'm with James...it depends on your age. Of course, it's not the time left in your future, but the life you squeeze into your present that matters most ;)

No Post Processing. This is exactly what we saw out there. Shot hand held at 300mm from a boat ~11 miles away. More pictures and a video of the entire launch later.
- Carlos Ayala
Speechless... wow! What did it sound like from that distance?
- Adrian
its so strange. you see the boosters fire up, there is a rumble, then a ball of fire, then a louder rumble...then absolute silence. afterward you begin to hear the rockets again and it becomes a steady rumble...then like a minute, or maybe longer...BOOM....the sonic boom hit us and then rumble from the rockets becomes very loud. i dont know man, it is still sinking in. the video will be up soon you can see it for yourself.

How to spot victims of brainwashing cults: they freak out when their irrational beliefs are challenged by rational questions. They can't handle reasonable debate.
It's the old divide between those who want to be told the answer to something, and those who place more on the journey to finding the answer themselves. Debate of any kind forces them to think about the answer they have taken at face value and opens up the possibility that they have been duped, pride and ego takes over the rest of the scenario ;)

You can get some really cool effects by changing the color of the back light and front light. Be sure to use different colors for each light or just use color on one and leave the other white. Colored gels work great but anything colored (like a colored drinking glass) in front of the flash and/or back light will give you the same effect. ^^

What is DMU? I've tried to Google It, but I'm not having any luck.
- Jim Reverend
DMU is where I hang out on Flickr: http://www.flickr.com/groups... If you are interested in an uncensored internet forum with no holds barred photo critiques it's a great place. A really good community with lots of political discourse etc., but also potentially offensive for many due to the uncensored nature of the place and some of the flickr folk it subsequently attracts. I call it home there though.
- Thomas Hawk
Oh yes. I've read you talking about this place more than once. Just didn't put the two together. Thanks!

Doesn't say where they got the data from. If it's from legal immigration, "Unknown" is a very disturbing category. I'm also a bit surprised not to see Ireland as a small block on there.
- Spidra Webster
Kurt, yeah, I saw that later. But it still doesn't say whether it's from hard data about legal immigration or whether it includes data on legal immigration with estimates about illegal immigration or what.
- Spidra Webster
This comment came into my head when I was chatting to the person at the Job Centre last Friday. When she was explaining some they did well she used the word "we" but when she explained something they didn't do well she used the word "they".
- Kol Tregaskes
Well it's always someone else's fault, isn't it?

Slitscan imaging techniques are used to create static images of time-based phenomena. In traditional film photography, slit scan images are created by exposing film as it slides past a slit-shaped aperture. In the digital realm, thin slices are extracted from a sequence of video frames, and concatenated into a new image.
