Frans
At this stage I am very close to giving up. The moment I start getting decent traffic Google ditches all my keywords. I'm struggling to research new niches. Market Samurai has stopped working altogether since the much awaited supposedly fast version was released.
I've submitted tickets, but to no avail. I cannot even check them out because the helpdesk keeps telling me I don't have have access to the tickets. The 30DC starts soon, but I don't know if it's worth it as I'm down in the Mariana Trench at this stage.:-(( - Frans
I know how you feel... I feel like giving up every single day, at every single second. =) But feeling and doing are two different things. Don't listen to much to feelings. I'm a failure, and I suck air when it comes to marketing, but Ed's going to post a solution to that soon on his blog, so I'm not too worried either. I quit my job to pursue a full time career marketing online, partly... more... - Art Y.
Could you explain what this means please "Google ditches all my keywords". Writing clearly will help find the answers to the problems. - Andy Roberts
I think he means, Google doesn't want to give him good rankings... - Art Y.
MS has been messing up for me also. First time I have had problems since buying last year. The new update I think is the culprit. I put in a ticket and they asked for the project I was doing to get more info on the problem, haven't heard back since (2 days now), must be taking the holiday off. - Ron"micronet"Harwood from Friend Deck
Ditches my keywords means they disappear for no good reason (that I can ascertain) from the rankings. One day #5 next day #39, next day #197 then gone. Not for one keyword or one site either. Different keywords, different sites. Then it maybe comes back in two or three months, slowly climbs the ladder and then disappears again. - Frans
As far as MS is concerned I just wish I could get the old version back. Then I can at least get some work done. - Frans
If you can use rapidshare, here is a link to ver 0.76 http://rapidshare.com/files... just uninstall current MS and install this one. When prompted to update say no ;) - Jorge Blanco
Frans, Sometimes It's best to do something else for a while...and come back fresh for a new battle. In Previous 30DC, Ed had to insert a day off here and there. - Juan Pablo
Frans & Ron: is it any better with the newer update? - Isha (Marysia)
Nope. Still the same. - Frans
Frans - it might not be google - maybe people are targetting your site, make it stronger with links, optimising as much as you can, post often ,deep link like Ed says....make it too much trouble for them - Inspired Writing Research
Frans, I reckon you need to do what Art suggests - email helpdesk@noblesamurai.com and explain the situation with trying to view your tickets. I know the same problem (with tickets) has happened before. - Isha (Marysia)
Yes. Actually, I guess sites disappear from Google anytime, and for any reason. And when they'll be back can be unpredictable. There's no way to stop it. So I think it's a good idea to have as many pathways leading to your main site as possible. If visitors can only reach your site from Google, then if Google slaps it, people can't go to your site anymore. So you need a lot of different... more... - Art Y.
Have succeeded in getting MS to look at the problem. Seems to have something to do with download speeds. Hope they solve it soon. I have Squidoo, Hubpage and Weebly pages. Maybe not enough different pages of content. Will try some more articles. Have quite good rankings in Yahoo, but the traffic is much less than from Google if it ranks. - Frans
Yes. 3 Web 2.0 Sites are definitely not enough. The Social Media Daily Blueprint by Michelle Macphearson contains a huge list of other Web 2.0 sites you should submit to. It's a good reference. Look for a lot more different sites to create content from such as Blogger, Xanga, Vox.com, etc. - Art Y.
OK, I have been inactive on here for a while, but I will pass on what I have learned in the last 2 weeks. If you are using WP (not the direct version but it will probably still work), then site optimisation is a really good place to start reviewing what you have done. This is a link I got in a recent email, and it is a free WP optimisation plugin -... more... - san
Hi Frans, I saw this and wanted to leave you a note to update. I checked into the issue, and found that the cause might be related to download speeds. We're doing some analysis to work out the precise cause now - and you've been extremely patient (thankyou!) As you know, Market Samurai downloads a lot of information very quickly - and if it's not able to suck all of the information through the pipe fast enough, it can experience issues. I just wanted to let you know we're on top of things and encourage you. - Noble Samurai
A drop in google ranking is normal. You get good rankings, then they drop, but they will return. Just make sure you build quality links back to you site - constantly and evenly - don't do lots and stop, keep going and spread them out. Also add new content to your site constantly and in an even rythm, maybe once a week. - Haim Schlesinger from BuddyFeed
Thanks for all your support it is much appreciated. Just to make sure I'm not misunderstood - the guys from Market Samurai is very helpful indeed. I started using email to exchange info and not tickets and that works fine. - Frans
I appreciate your post. I also wrote that SMS advertising provides a cost effective method of targeting promotions to specific customer profiles. You might want to remind customers of specific events or promotions, but for whatever reasons, SMS allows you to pass information directly to the right customer at very affordable prices and fast delivery. <a href="http://www.hearingaidindia.com/" target="_blank">Hearing aid</a> - Shari Blackitsoft
Art Y.
Hi all. It's me again. I want to use an autoresponder, but from what I heard, according to law you have to have your address with every email you send out. So, does anyone have any recommendations for one of those virtual mailbox addresses that you can apply for with a yearly fee, and they forward all mail to your real address?
I heard of them before, but don't know what they're called, so I can't look for them. - Art Y.
There are not any I can recommend, I just rent a P.O. Box from my local post office as/used for business only. The few virtual ones I looked at would have cost me more than just having a real address. I pay like 32.00 bucks a yr. Thats what? 2.66 a month. The virtual ones I checked where like 5.00 + a month and had a setup fee to boot ! Plus I know I will get any mail that does get sent to my po box or I can take it up face to face with the postal clerk. - Ron"micronet"Harwood
Ok. Thanks! I'll get a PO Box then. - Art Y.
Your email address is in the reply function. You can redirect the emails if need be. - Brian McClure
Try myus.com - Haim Schlesinger from BuddyFeed
Will check it out. Thanks Haim! @Brian Sorry, Don't get what you mean... O_o - Art Y.

Ruqqa.com Blocked by Google??? My ruqqa sites been out of Googles index for a month (I was on 1st page). I was told all ruqqa sites are being blocked by Google. Seems to be true as I've done a "site:" search on other rugga domain sites and Google says there no matches. Can anyone confirm?
have no info on this but I'm very interested to know more, anyone know what the deal is? I just started a ruqqa blog. - Peter Gibson
sounds interesting! I think black hat techniques might have been used to optimize this website. - TrafficBug
it sure pops up in my google search - TrafficBug
Sorry, but what pops up? The ruqqa site in google search or the "no documents found" message? Thanks. - 22Hicks
I have - Your search - site:ruqqa.com - did not match any documents. - Buff Toast
same here. Google site search - did not match any documents - Peter Gibson
Did u see this http://www.thirtydaychallenge.com/forums... Do check with WPD. - Buff Toast
Thanks. This seems to be a major problem. Going back and forth with WPD. They keep claiming it's the number of keywords on my site, even though no ruqqa site is listed in Google's index. WPD needs to investigate. I'm on the brink of moving everything to Blogger. - 22Hicks
Yup my ruqqa blog never got indexed either. I'm not currently using WPD for that reason. - Kittie Walker
Just use WP, problem solved - Rich_Glass

Russ
Mr. Ed Dale, Ed, Ed, Ed, Ed, Ed, Ed. I just listened to the 1st video on 30DC. But Ed you godda listen to me Ed because I'm an authority on this for real so listen up. A lot of people can not hear you. They mentioned it many times last year. I guess you choose to ignore this. Thinking they are lying or they are complainers. I CAN'T HEAR YOU
YOU NEED TO HANDLE THIS Ed TERMEDELY. When people can't hear you it's more upsetting then you realize. I notice people are extremely polite about it so you don't think it's a big deal. It truly is upsetting to people. AND IT HURTS YOU. People drop out of your program because THEY CAN NOT HEAR YOU. I got about half way through 30DC last year and I couldn't take it anymore. I wouldn't sign up for 30DC+ only because I couldn't hear you. If you want to make people happy YOU HAVE TO PROJECT Ed. You have to project your voice into the microphone. It will make people happy and it will mean a great deal more income for you. Please take this as a help flow Ed. - Russ
So Russ... is it the volume, or background noise, or what? I am sure specifics will help - Allison
RUSS Have you ever considered it may be your set-up thats the problem.Very easy process to check ask other people if they can hear him. Ed I can hear you fine ... RUSS there is an answer that you might not want to hear. THINK you need to do some research for yourself via google to see if their is any know problems ie Are you using pc or apple. What operation system are you using Are... more... - micmol
Russ _ i actually take the audio section of my audio very seriously. Now live from time to time I get of mike but everything else I do I take the time to master to ensure the best audio levels I can. - Ed Dale
Ed, I can hear you fine. No problem ever. - Frans
Russ, I understand where you're coming from, but I'm someone who also knows about these things and I have never had a problem hearing Ed. And I don't have any fancy equipment or even a fancy computer. Usually watch the videos or live feed on my 5 year old laptop with a Plantronics headset.... - Lisa
...During the live show the other night Dan was a bit louder and echoey at times but Ed has always come across loud and clear. Anyone who is having problems with hearing the audio, I would suggest first looking at your audio set-up, and make sure you listen through headphones. Computer speakers can often be the culprit. - Lisa
I'm not saying anyone is lying that they can't hear, but there are so many settings and other things that could have caused it - if others can hear fine then it's a sign that the problem isn't Ed's end. I'm semi-deaf from years of wearing industrial size headphones with loud music blaring through them so if I can hear him it can't be his settings! - Lisa
Sometimes it is a little distorted, but I think its just the technology. I could here everything fine the other night. - Rich_Glass
We've had this discussion several times before. E.g. http://ff.im/1Hr9R. I find Ed's videos and audios to have low sound levels. I resolve that by using earphones. Same laptop, Dan's videos/audios are perfect (all Imm Edge in fact). I suggested that Ed post a pdf transcript at least for all his TEACHING videos/audios. The marketing/announcement stuff doesn't need pdf. The pdf transcripts are searchable, storable locally on hard disk, and can be read through in 10 minutes, compared to watching for 40 mins. - Ritesh Lal
Though I have never had trouble hearing Ed with my headset, I do know that I have had the volumes at the upper levels..... Just like on TV you would not want to have a set maximum... some people may want to Crank it up and do housework! I am not discounting that some may have audio issues, it would seem to me to be prudent to provide a much higher than needed Volume and the rest of us can turn our volume down - Mark - Mark South
For me all videos till now worked just fine! - Mitja MG
The issue I had with the audio was that Dan was so much louder that I couldn't hear Ed when I turned the sound down for Dan (who was otherwise blasting in my ears). Also, people's hearing inevitably changes as they get older (even if they don't need hearing aids), so it's great if we can provide audio that can be turned low for young people with good hearing but plenty of room to be turned up by other people. - Isha (Marysia)
Btw, is there a place where I can watch this? It was 3AM here and I have to sleep sometimes ;) - Haim Schlesinger from BuddyFeed
You know what it is. A lot of people hear Ed just fine (so they say above) and I've seen this before. So I believe he must be speaking loud enough (since many people hear him fine) (so it's not Ed's fault) but I could swear some of us, our computers are not picking up his audio.for whatever reason. Get everybody elses audio just find, no problem, but with 30DC all of a sudden certain... more... - Russ
Hey what you said Mark South (or at least the last line of what you said) (hope Ed takes note) - Russ

Hi! My April Fools link! Don't click on it! Just a warning... =) - http://thekickback.com/rickrol...
Listen to the warning!!!! - Jorge Blanco
arrg, I need to heed warnings! Very funny Art! - Elizabeth
That is quite evil. Clicked on it and then couldn't get rid of it at all without shutting down Firefox - which was a pain as at work with multiple windows and tabs open monitoring traffic and couldn't just restart with the same session! had to start from scratch You have been warned! - Lisa
That was not funny, Hacker style evil. Shame on you - Colossal Marketing™
Hey Lisa, for future Ctrl, Alt, Delete works wonders :-) - Elizabeth
Ha ha. Sorry everyone =) But I did warn you... When you tell people not to click on a link, there's no way they can resist clicking on it. =P A good marketing strategy for getting a higher CTR, no? - Art Y.
I did do Ctrl, Alt, Delete but had to close the whole of Firefox to get out of it. Had 4 windows and about 25 tabs open at the time. - Lisa
Art - yes, we are all going to click, it's curiosity. Although, in an environment like this there is an element of trust. - Lisa
it's more a matter of patience... the window moves in a pattern. Find the pattern and the tab's X will fall under your mouse and BANG!!!1 It's gone. Of course you have to go through the lyrics pop ups. It's all evil genius >:D - Jorge Blanco
Sorry... I am a bit naughty sometimes... =( - Art Y.
Naughty Art. Time out for you. Go and build 10 backlinks. - Buff Toast
Still a nice one two days later. And: Do listen to the warning!!! - Detlev
Me dumb, didn't listen. Serves me well! - Frans
Why did I click on that???? - Rich_Glass
If you have "restore previous session" enabled, then killing Firefox wont help, as when it starts again, it opens this again, Next version of Firefox wont have this problem, as there is supposed to be an option in every javascript generated alert on a site to "stop running further script on this site" - TrafficBug
Curse you Art! I managed to ignore it for days, and now thanks to all these new comments, this came again on top of feed. The worst is that I kept humming the rest of the day "Never gonna give you up..." Oh horror! :-) - Ritesh Lal

This looks like a cool site to find voice overs for your products, if you need a voice over. Prices don't look bad either. http://www.voices.com/directo...
This is not my site, I just thought it was a useful place - Rich_Glass
Ho ho. It does look useful indeed! :) It would cool if you could get someone who sounds like Don LaFontaine to do voice overs for your products. You know... The guy who always used to do the preview voice in trailers, that started with: 'In a world... where there is no marketing law'. The deep and crazily awesome voice. That would be too cool! - Art Y.
Don't forget the (what does Ed call her?) Lovely Lisa Hartwell who is a professional voiceover artist http://audiblemarketing.com/ (great audio tips on her blog too) - Allison
Wow! Lisa is amazing! - Art Y.
Isn't that Lisa of SWBN? She's great! - Susan

I have created two blogs during the 30DC. Now, for a third niche, my idea is to create a regular website, not a blog. What is the best and easiest way to create a regular website? I have my own domain. Any suggestion?
You couldn't have asked at a better time. Here is what I suggest. I use them and they provide all the tools that you have to get separately with 30DC. Keyword research tools, auto responders, e-newletters, easy site building tools, rss feeds, socialize buttons and more! Here is the link to a special of buy one get one free ends Christmas. The cost is $300 per year. Almost the same cost... more... - Emily
I've seen that sales page before and clicked away from it because it doesn't give a price. Sales pages that don't give prices are a real pain Emily - Isha (Marysia)
I seem to be at exactly the same point as you, I've tried a couple of blogs which haven't done great so I am going for something a little more meaty. I got the business hosting package from Hostgator. I've tried Kompozer, MS Expressions and Dreamweaver. At the moment I am torn between Kompozer and Expressions. Dreamweaver is beautiful but really overkill for me atm. - Kittie Walker
This site just launch by Mike Filsaime maybe could help you a lot http://syedakram.instantaffiliatewebsite.com - Syed Akram
I use XSite pro, very easy to use and fairly inexpensive http://www.xsitepro.com/ - Rich_Glass
I use Wordpress, even if for sites without a blog. Excellent SEO, flexibility, lots of functionality built in and easy to include an RSS feed if you decide to have any sort of upadated content anywhere on your site. The off the shelf sites you can get are a little less individual and in myopinion don;t give you the opportunity to really stand out.as much as you could with your own website. Wordpress can be made to look nothing like a typical wordpress site. - Rob Cooke
I agree with Rob on Word Press. It can be made to look indistinguishable from Word Press. WP seo's just like a website, easier to maintain without needing to do HTML (CSS, Javascript) surgery. I do not know your niche, but for most niche's your customers won't even care. Some people have also used Drupal and Joomla. - Frank Dobner
When we first started out some years ago we used Website Wizard which did everything we needed at the time. It took about 12 months to outgrow them and now we use a combination of Web Page Maker, Joomla and WordPress depending on site content. - Kim Baillie
I am a bit of a WP fanatic myself, so I am biased, but I do think it is excellent. I'm talking about WP self hosted (not WP.com). If it wasn't for that I don't know when I would have got started building my first site. - Rob Cooke
I like http://www.weebly.com/ - you can create a website for FREE!!!!! You can also get a domain (although it does have 'a .weebly' part on the end of it) and they host it for you. Hope this helps. - Enzo Vullo
I am starting to build one too! It's like an online magazine though. http://ezinemax.com - Light from twhirl
I've tried Dreamweaver, Frontpage(garbage code), notepad(raw coding) and the winner everytime is Xsitepro v2. Check out my mentor James Schramko's site at http://www.xsitepro-seo.com and you get his awesome XSP cheet sheet when you buy through his link. Cheers Z - Marcus Z Billadeau from twhirl
my first successful site was built using phpnuke, it took away a lot of the html headaches, added some others..but was fun to learn and looks pretty nice http://coaching-youth-baseball.com/ - Brian McClure
I really believe in the power of wordpress, but customizing WP is not that easy. - Soheyl
Yes. WP has a long way to go to educate its customer base on customizing their blogs/web code. They have documents upon documents that could create full time job to learn their stuff. I hope that they consider putting their stuff on video for simplifying the education. There is a niche for someone here to produce effective video training to utilize WP fully for us boneheads. - Frank Dobner
Great idea Frank. Yes, a very great niche for the experts out there: Video tutorials on advanced aspects of WP. It can also be a topic for discussion during 30DC Plus. - Soheyl
I appreciate your post. I also wrote that SMS advertising provides a cost effective method of targeting promotions to specific customer profiles. Groobers
Just wondering if there is anyone else out there who signed up to 30DC+ without completing 30DC?
I didn't COMPLETELY finish 30DC and singed up to 30DC+, but intend to go back to 30DC for further study. - Janice
I was wondering the same thing, Groobers. Should I sign up before finishing? - Mark Strickland
I am still going through the challenge, about half way and I signed up. I will finish, I love it, Ed and Dan and the team are the best, so for $20 you can't go wrong. It won't always be that price, if you get in at all, I think it was open for 24 hours - JayP
That's the thing, do you think a thirty day extension will be available for Market Samurai for further study? - Groobers
Maybe a room is required for the trying to do two things at once tribe? - Groobers
I've heard that trying to do too many things at once is a sure way to do nothing right, but in this case, I tip my virtual hat to those who are really working at their online businesses. you will succeed. BTW did you see Frank Kern's video how to get rich. It is gooooood - Jorge Blanco from twhirl
Not me. I succeed in 30dc but unfortunately I didn't go on with working on sites because of not having enough time :( Hope this time goes better and I get more inspiration to work on sites. - Mitja MG
I did the pre-season stuff and the first few days of 30DC. I stopped at day 6 -setting up a blog - as I already have one but I will be going back just to get familiar with the info. - DaleK
Guilty. I got too busy. Fell down on the market research. Set up a blog then reanalyzed and decided it was not a good niche after all. Kinda got stuck on the whole Market Samurai analysis stuff... I never got to the automated content, which really piqued my curiousity. But 30DC+ is too good a deal to not do, at least for a few months. Gotta risk it... - Cass
Exactly the same for me as Cass. Exactly. - Paul
Not a big fan of the autopost features. Yes, they're easy, but they produce too low quality content sometimes and you kind of get comfortable after a while ad could forget to check them frequently enough to moderate them. And yeah, finding a new niche can be hard. - Jorge Blanco from twhirl
Yup I am still working my way through 30DC and have signed up for 30DC+, I am on Day 11 of 30DC - Kittie Walker
I haven't finished 30DC either, but there are clearly things I want to find out about in the 30DC+ program. Also, I knew what I wanted to sell on line (like my books) before I began 30DC - Sig - Sig Lonegren
Just been reading The Awesome again, a quick question before Beer O'Clock (hey it is Freedy Neet) could an Apple iTouch be used instead of an iPhone? - Groobers
I haven't really finished 30dc yet - didn't do the pay-per-click becs can't afford risking that much dosh - Isha (Marysia)
Hope I can keep up with them both, only got to day 6 of 30dc - Pete
Let's hope we can ALL keep up. I wonder if the new Blackberry Storm will suffice instead of iPhone. - Janice
I'm just about finished 30DC but have started 30DC+ and am finding it the BEST way to understand and really use some of the things I didn't understand (despite watching the vids and reading the text) in 30DC. Expecting to start feeling pretty awesome any day now ;-) - Kim Baillie
I've heard some bad comments about the Storm, something like its the Vista of the Blackberries - Jorge Blanco
I've not gotten thru 30DC b4 signing up for 30DC+ , seems to work just as well, now I'm going back to 30DC vids I didn't watch when I pause 30DC+ vids to 'catch up' on what Ed is conveying - gave the whole process new life for me! - Bob Miller
Getting through 30DC is a target I've set for Dec '08... - Justus van der Merwe from twhirl
Am currently on my 6th attempt. So far I haven't made it past day 18. 30DC+ is a great boost to my productivity. - Tim Brennan
I am now doing basic 30D for third time! (It worked ! Ed's teaching is something else!) - Inspired Writing Research
I learned a lot fro the 30 dc but never finished it completely. So, I'll pay for it this time and make it work. Go figure - Rich_Glass
I did do the 30DC, but I think that doing the 30DC one lesson at time should be do-able. You can do it! - Frank Dobner
I made it thru and then heard about 30DC+ the week after. Good timing. I'm still putting 30DC into practice... - Gus
I did, although I covered most of 30DC but didn't get ranked high enough to make a decision. I am thinking of extending my IM stuff next year so I decided to join in and get an extra edge. - Darshana Makavita
I appreciate your post. I also wrote that SMS advertising provides a cost effective method of targeting promotions to specific customer profiles.
