Kirk, I found it here on the Getty's website. http://www.getty.edu/art... I recently went down and shot the Getty. It is an amazing museum with a fantastic "photography allowed" policy. One of my favorite things to see at the Getty was a painting done by the famous photographer Walker Evans. Although Evans is very well known for his photography, I'd never been aware that he painted as well. Here's a photo of one of his paintings. http://www.flickr.com/photos... - Thomas Hawk

Thanks, Thomas. I'll ask them, see if they know the citation (looks like it's from an autobiography). In the age of teh internets, mis-cited and incorrect quotations drive me nuts. I don't think you're getting it wrong, but I wanted to copy the quote myself... - Kirk Kittell
