A pro soloist would have to find it easy to solo over Monk's vamping. He lays such a solid foundation in which you hear the melody line the whole time, it's amazing. Even the second roll through the solo before he cuts entirely. Lovely, lovely stuff.

Someone once defined introversion and extroversion to me this way: An extrovert is energized, or gains energy, from the people around them, while introverts expend energy around people. The definition was meant to emphasize that introverts don't necessarily hate people; many do enjoy the company of others. They are just exhausted by them, so they need time to recharge. I found the definition to be spot on for me.

I thought that I read somewhere that they were changing the martial arts theme of this movie to Kung Fu (and even naming it Kung Fu Kid)? If this picture is all that you're going by, it's not definitive that this is Karate (horse stance exists in Kung Fu, as well).

"Cook oil and flour in a large Dutch oven over medium-low heat, whisking constantly, until roux is chocolate colored (about 35 to 40 minutes). Stir in celery, onion, and bell pepper; cook 7 minutes, stirring often. Add garlic; cook 2 minutes. Gradually stir in Duck Stock and next 8 ingredients; bring to a boil. Reduce heat, and simmer, uncovered, 1 hour, stirring occasionally. Add duck meat; simmer 15 minutes. Remove from heat; stir in oysters and fresh basil. Let stand 5 minutes. Serve over hot rice. Sprinkle with green onions."
