Should FF have threaded comments? It's starting to get out of hand to try and reply to a specific comment.
If it was easy to do right we'd have it already. - Alex Scoble
or is it just that indenting gets out of hand after awhile? - Laura Norvig
What Laura said. - Christopher Harley
What if a mouse over the comment highlighted the comment it was in reply to? - invariant - farewell FF
One of many previous discussions on flat vs multi-level threading http://friendfeed.com/acitran... - Micah Wittman
yeah, it would be tough to do, I always hated trying to follow large threads in forums... there has to be a better way. With posts now getting 300-400 comments, we need a better way to manage/peruse them. @Micah .. glad to see that Bret Taylor liked that thread... wonder if they have anything in the works? - Tim Hoeck
Tim, interesting observation. Lots of roll-outs happening. Maybe something will be in the next wave of features. - Micah Wittman
I am definitely up for that. Currently it is very hard to track the conversation, if someone mentions your name or responds to your comment. Threaded comments would make it much easier. - Marko Saric
invariant has a great idea. But only one level down, so we keep the flat comments. - Roberto Bonini
I would like a 'reply' feature. From a dropdown on the comment icon we could select to 'reply' - whether this indents the comment or not I'm not sure but these 'replies' could then be displayed on a separate page like 'My Replies'. - Kol Tregaskes
If comments were indented it should only be to 1 or 2 depth. I really wouldn't like to see the messy reddit-style on FF. - Kol Tregaskes
I would still just like the ability to 'like' a certain comment - Kim
I think threaded comments are messy. I see them on http://www.athleticsnation.com, a sports site I frequent, and it would be crazy here. - Louis Gray
