it certainly does taste better .. not to mention a monster sugar rush lol

I thought they all normally have sugar in it, I know for a fact that we don't have caffeine in our Mountain Dew.
- Andrew Trinh

I miss Mountain Dew here in the UK :( Used to be my fave drink
- Simon Wicks
Most sodas have high fructose corn syrup in it .. It's chemically modified corn syrup ..Pure sugar is better for you then HFCS
- John Blanton
from twhirl
That and Pepsi Throwback, so much better than the crap they are shilling today. I hope Pepsi Co. decides drop the Throwback name and get rid of the current HFCS (and not just because it is in everything).
- kenneth glenn
I was sad to hear these are only for a limited time. I hope they keep them around just for the option. (I try to drink soda only a handful times a month)
- Bwana ☠
Amen Mr. Glenn .. but the more I think about it the more I think it's just a limited time deal .. which is sad. I'm going to see if there is a way to contact them and tell them to make this their permanent recipe and I'll post what I find here.

I really wouldn't be surprised if they released the Throwback sodas cuz they ran out of HFCS lol
- John Blanton
all my local grocery chains have it on sale ..which is kinda odd if you think about it.

I have a bottle of Pepsi Throwback, though I'm not a Pepsi fan. I don't know where to get my favorite brand's sugar beverage, unless I go to The Pub, and I don't want to go to TP.

Thanks for all feedback on this ..wasn't expecting it . .thanks just the same! :)

I just went to three stores, no one has it
- Bwana ☠
@Bwana I don't remember where you live but I'd be willing to bet it's on it's way to ya .. Memphis is a major distribution hub so that might explain why it's available here and not where you're at yet.

I found it in Orlando a couple of weeks ago... I'm in Jacksonville, FL

Speaking of glue (and off the topic of smells) - are my sister and I the only ones that used to squeeze wood glue all over our hands, wait for it to dry, and then peel it off?
- Mike Hartman
Dave - Your post reminds me of an old "In Living Color" skit - a commercial for Flatuscents - a suppository that changed the scent of expelled gas to flowers, vanilla, or even the new-car-smell.
- Dennis O'Neil
Play Doh stinks. New carpet/carpet stores - ick not sure if the carpet is treated with something that gets to me. Blown out candles (which defeats the purpose). I hate the smell of sautéed ground beef.
- BEX
I always liked that - "their own brand". It's sort of like we each have our own micropooery.
- Mike Hartman
when plastic gets hot. if it's already burning, i can throw up immediately

I love these threads you start Mona. I came up with a few more "flavors" -- Winter Wonderland, Base on Balls (think about it), Three Strikes Yer Out, MILF Weed, Weapon of Mass Destruction.
- Dave Winer
BTW part of the essence of the Dixie Brewery is yeast, for sure, or something living or was until recently. It has a chemical element, and something else. It does NOT make you want a Dixie, a brand everyone drinks but hates and thinks causes cancer. Typical conversation at the water cooler or at one of the fine eateries of N.O. -- Did you smell what Dixie was putting out this morning?
- Dave Winer
Okay there's the one *obvious* thing no one has had the guts to put in this list. Do you know what I'm talking about? Let's put it this way. My grandfather only knew about three jokes and none of them were funny. One of them went like this. He'd walk past a fish market (they used to have them in NY when I was growing up) and he'd sniff loudly three times and say HI GIRLS! Even I, a little kid, knew what that was about. Okay I did my duty. Onward! :-)
- Dave Winer
Tar, like when they are doing road or roof work. Something in me likes the smell.
- Neal Jansons
I was trying to explain how New Orleaneans feel about Dixie Beer. This picture sort of gets the point across. http://www.flickr.com/photos... It's not held in high reverence. People say "It's made with Mississippi River water" while holding their nose to illustrate what that means. :-(
- Dave Winer
I guess there's a reason why some people are trendsetters. Now that's three things that I liked because I liked them, but only found because you posted them: Jonathan Coulton, Erasure (which I liked, but had forgotten about,) and now this, which literally caused me to hurt myself laughing. (This is the item I truly meant to comment on before, sorry about any confusion.)
- midnightgolfer
You just wait until I post one with Devo.... she's a yodeler....
- Veronica
could be sooner, and it will be among the big names, but all those dodgy cheap Korean and Chinese brands will need time to catch up :-)
- Duncan Riley
And by 2015 a lot of us will have five screens on our family room walls instead of just one.
- Robert Scoble
By 2015, we might not need a wall to watch the five screens
- Mike Sansone
We might not even have screens anymore.
- Todd Hoff
todd: i seriously doubt that. I've seen screens that won't be available until 2010. They won't become obsolete in five years.
- Robert Scoble
Won't we have some type of ocular implant by then? Or at least a contact lens/glasses for watching stuff
- Rahsheen ™, Coach Rah
Rasheen/ Todd, I'd like to think that, but it isn't happening, at least in the next decade anyway. Thinner and bigger is the general direction, although Scoble I think 5 screens is still some time away, by the sheer force of building design. Newer houses might allow it, but I haven't got a wall in my loungeroom for the extra units :-)
- Duncan Riley
By 2015 this news story will be irrelevant.
- Alex Scoble
Duncan: you're probably right in many homes. The new screens are so freaking thin they are great as picture frames.
- Robert Scoble
You gave me 7 years to play with. Shortening it to 5 seconds isn't fair :-) I'm voting for the glasses that project images directly on your iris. Cut out the middleman and start painting directly in light.
- Todd Hoff
@todd... I´d prefer glasses/lenses that project images directly on my retina...
- peter huesken
Glasses will have their place, but we will always enjoy shared media experiences. That means something that hangs on the wall.
- Robert Scoble
Right now the FCC is considering whether or not to require all Cable Set Top Boxes to have Ethernet interfaces instead of FireWire. Think about it.
- Andrew Feinberg
Alex - where the heck have you been? Getting ready for the wedding?
- Zee.
@Duncan check out IFA Berlin, they had some incredible new television tech from Samsung and Sony.
- Steve Spalding
Steve: the Panasonic that Duncan wrote up was introduced at a Panasonic press conference in IFA. So that news was directly from IFA. Also, Philips had the thinnest screen I saw. 8mm thick. Unbelieveable. I have pictures of some of the thin screens here: http://www.flickr.com/photos...
- Robert Scoble
Don't mean to be all 'Mr Conspiracy' or 'Mr Fearmonger' but what implications will this have for security and privacy. My major concearn is what access is available to the TVs from 'untrusted' sources. Can content or ads be placed in my TV with my knowledge? Can my viewing habits be mined from third parties. I hope this is addressed and solved cause I'm all about digital connectivity through my house :)
- Johnny Worthington
John: in the case of the Panasonic TV? Probably not. The system is very limited. You can't view a lot of Internet content. Just YouTube and a few select others. I seriously doubt that Panasonic would put a system in that sends much data home. Either way, I bet NBC's Olympics Website has a lot more info being sent home than this TV will.
- Robert Scoble
@Scoble... A shared media experience doesn´t always need a single shared screen. It could also be somethjing along the lines of a "Silent Disco" type experience for screens (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki...)
- peter huesken
@Robert, indeed. My issue is not so much with the big Brands but the slew of cheap knock-offs that are sure to follow. .. Which people like my mum and dad are likely to buy :)
- Johnny Worthington
I am really behind here, with my little 25 inch regular CRT TV, but then I seldom watch any TV.
- Ian May
How do you feel about privacy of your TV activity vs PC/browser activity? Do you consider your viewing habits on Hulu, for example, less sensitive than your viewing habits on your Comcast box (read Hulu privacy policy to notice relatively broad rights for personal and anonymous info). What if the TV policies and user options to control usage were similar to those provided by Facebook?
- Amir Gharaat
Well for me, I do not have an issue. But for my parents, and a large number of people I know who exist outside the tech-bubble we like to float around in, they get nervous anytime anything touches the internet.
- Johnny Worthington
Hey, Zee...I've was at PAX 2008 all weekend.
- Alex Scoble
Why wait till then? Mine is "internet enabled" now.... and I don't have to pay the TV manufacturer twice as much to get it.
- Tim Hoeck
I hoping that they would be. hehe tired of paying extra for a modem.
- Ron
Twitter is for large blast; non-visual links, no commentary needed. or BS status updates that aren't that interesting. FF is for group commentary, esp. for items with visual components that can be included via bookmarklet.
- dave mcclure
(and yes I know Twitter also gets republished via FF)
- dave mcclure
I'd like to think that the folks on FF, at least at present, are a bit more tuned in. Twitter makes it hard to stay tuned in, partly because of numbers.
- Chris Brogan
I sometimes also comment here if I want to vent/comment, but not answer about it in the general public. For instance, I'm sick of SXSW panel picker pimping requests. Won't tweet about it, but here? I feel safe commenting about it.
- Chris Brogan
Yea, I feel like most follow more people on Twitter so it's easier to miss something. I would like to be able to add everyone I follow on Twitter to my FF, but no way to automatically do that yet.
- Johnny Makkar
ok, super stupid and noob question, but how do you put images in your FF posts?
- Jorge Escobar
Is there a different set that follows you on ff? Smaller, more intimate? Do a few offical heavyweights NOT follow you here who do on Twitter? Then post less official stuff here. Want to send a drip of traffic to a friend with a home server? FF.
- Ed Shahzade /NextInstinct
I type reports into Twitter only a few times a week. I let my other social services update my Twitfeed. I post links to FriendFeed or billso.StumbleUpon.com, depending upon my comments and the content.

@Nigel very. Consumers will revolt. This is a problem with the chipset it sounds like. If Apple can't solve it with firmware, it takes away a major reason why people upgraded to the 3G phone.
- Steve Rubel
I have the original iPhone and it drops calls a lot--especially when I'm in a cell area where there's lots of cell traffic (such as near a large business at drive times--often right around the 3 minute mark in a call). The iPhone also crashes too much for my taste. I think all if not most of these are software issues. I'm guessing that there's more of the same with the 3G--at least...
- Loren Heiny
@scubachris reports perfect connections in Canada. blames lack of connections on US AT&T network, not the phone.
- Kevin Doohan
its not the chip, its the tower... blame the carrier.. Sub std usage of 3g chips , it would not be qualified std for firmware.. period. Get a grip.. this is firmware and goes thru intensive QA prior to being qualified as a producer/production level chip, let alone being used in the iPhone !!
- Peter Dawson
I am not having any more problems than I always had with the first iPhone
- Francine Hardaway
I live in Chicago and have tons of connection problems with my 3G iphone. The apple store blames AT&T and suggested that I turn off my 3G. I was not amused. The At&T Store replaced my SIM card, pointed to the coverage map and told me it was not a problem. Perhaps we could just start to chant that the "3G iPhone is not wearing any clothes." since both apple and AT&T both denied that there was a "real" connection issue.
- Katybeth
See? This is why you should stick to a phone that will work
-
Steve I had a feeling about Apple iPhone! Too much Marketing zeal in their delivery! Apple cares about profits now days not about its hard core users!
- Igor The Troll יִצְחָק
Sadly this is what you get when you advocate ROI to shareholders only! It must be ROI to Stakeholders which are shareholders + employees + customers + suppliers! The total equation! The irony my first argument with @amandachapel was about this!
- Igor The Troll יִצְחָק
Glad I decided to skip the 3G. Still suffering thru the bugs in 2.0(1) but my 2G works just fine. Rarely drops calls, EDGE is reliable (if slow) and I spend a lot of time on wi-fi.
- Team Frosick
i'd just like to say i've had ZERO problems with my 3g phone - no dropped calls, very few crashes, no app issues, not connectivity issues, zip, zero, nada - iphone 3g FTW!!!
- Morgan
This sounds a lot like the problems I have experienced since AT&T took over my provider and I switched from a 2g phone to 3g. Connection issues galore where I never had problems before. I think it's AT&T, not Apple.
- Jess
Steve, when do you believe this would happen?
- Eric Hill
If true, Steve, that would be (obviously) huge. And to think - whether it's the network or the phone that is the problem here - users are being charged a considerable premium for this so-called "service" - in the neighborhood of $15-30 more per month, depending on the plan.
- Anthony Citrano
Sounds like it might be time to sell my Apple stock?
- Louis Gray
I'm pretty unhappy in general with the iPhone. I get dropped calls on average every third call. 3G reception is poor at best, even though I spend 100% of my time in central Sydney. And the battery life... please don't get me started on the battery life. I'm actually beginning to regret buying this Apple product - and I'm a PC user - one of the very people Apple tries to lure with cross over products such as the iPhone.
- Mark Davies
It's okay. Someone will come up with a pro-Apple explanation soon. Apple can do no wrong. (I am thinking of making this my SAC (Standard Apple Comment))
- Dileepa Prabhakar
Well, I am on the "3" network where the iphone is not available which I was quite frustrated about. Now I'm thinking that maybe it was a good thing...give Apple time to iron out the problems or maybe when my contract runs out I'll get an Android enabled phone.
- Barak B
I seem to remember similar problems with the quality control of the first generation iPhone thanks to Foxconn. Nothing new as far as I'm concerned.
- Sergio Cruz
My 3G reception here in the UK on O2 is terrible. I'd been blaming it on O2 but maybe it's a wider problem. That said, when I was in Japan (where I had to be on 3G to get any reception) I had no problems. Still 3G is such a battery hog that I leave it off most of the time in the UK.
- Martin Bryant
3G coverage on my iPhone is very poor around the waterfront in San Francisco as well as around Union Square, two areas that I find myself in alot. It's also pretty bad in Oakland around the BART line which where I'd think it would make the most sense to have a good signal.
- Thomas Hawk
I've had to restart my phone a couple of times when after beign on for a day or so it didn't pick up a GPS signal but most places i've used my phone in London I've not really had a problem getting 3G, admittidly I've not erally taken the phone out of central London so far.
- Rory
And people asked why I bought an iTouch. No 3G problems for me.

I think it gives them distinction and differentiates them from links & comments, maybe italics could also be an option; but then the pages start to become more noisy, "quote..unquote"..
- Jason
I think it would be better without quotes since message is in different level horizontally than where comments are located.

from Bookmarklet
I think it's probably pretty true. It's amazing the connections you discover. Not that many of them (any?) are that useful, really, but realizing you're no more than 6 handshakes away from every other person on the planet can be a useful perspective.
- ɐ ɯıʞ sıɹɥɔ
Well, I now "know" (i.e. am subscribed) to Andy because he bookmarkletted the same news item as I did ten minutes before me, and I "met" him through my subscription to Robert Scoble. Two degrees? It would be interesting to be able to see a map of all our FF connections ... anyone know of an app?
- Bob Kingsley
I saw a Twitter app that did that the other day. Crap, what was it...?
- ɐ ɯıʞ sıɹɥɔ
Agree, But I feel the content is greater and easier to post and reply in a room, just less pictures and user sigs +1 for FF rooms!
- Tony C.
Agree, Yet w/ a system for adding media and links.
- Czar
The feeds are critical part of the rooms feature.
- Ontario Emperor
These rooms feel more like "a wall" to me. I like the integration with media and links.
- Kathleen Gilroy
I guess you trade the lack of formatting and images for not getting 6 inch high .sigs... even trade? hmm...
- felix
There's also a lack of indented replies or quoting, which keeps the discussions from growing huge. Trade against that the sheer ease of commenting .
- Andy Roberts
As soon as Disqus gets Friendfeed integration, I couldn't see why it wouldn't head in that direction.
- Niclas Darville
Profile Page: I'd like to create a public profile page. Just something short and not complex, but most importantly would provide links automatically to the sources I am sharing. Then I'd have a full profile page I can send people to.
+1 I've been avoiding commenting on this topic because I thought it was silly, but I've started redirecting people to FF as my main site lately, so perhaps it is not so silly after all.
- xero
What would you guys like to see included in a profile?
- Ross Miller
All of the services, maybe add a description to each blog feed. A short about me area (textbox, nothing special). If tags are ever introduced, then the personal tag cloud, quick links to my likes and comments. Basically, what's in the sidebar on the "Me" page, plus an area to add a small description of myself and what content types one can expect from my feeds.
- xero
yes, please add at least a small textbox to the "me" page and the mouseover so we can at least write who we are and how to contact us
- Gaby K. Slezák
I think the most important things would be a short message box (as Gaby Benkwitz described) and the option to add at least one site link (preferably with an XFN-friendly rel="me" tag)
- d<3vid seaward
@Ross : photo, short bio, location, and what services we import as live links, optional contact info. i like twitter's bio page. ff should just add our list of imported items with links
- Rob Williams
A profile page would be great, let users decide what they wanna have on it
- Majento
those kids and their damn "free videos."
- Thomas Hawk
I'm not saying videos shouldn't be free. I'm saying that I'm already warmed up while enjoying some entertainment. If I wanted a follow-on product, it would be perfect timing.
- Chris Brogan
I just noted on another FF thread that YouTube just added annotations support, but they only work on the youtube site. An attempt at a revenue model? http://friendfeed.com/e...
- Phil G
Nice. This is the first time I've seen a flash audio player embedded in FF. We have to let FF know they need to include a pop-out option to open the audio in a new window. As soon as I clicked LIKE. The audio stopped and it sent the item back to the top of my list.
- Kevin Shannon
Big fan of Utterz myself. Go, utter, be heard...
- Todd Jordan
@Granteezy I think the FF page refreshes automatically. It may have refreshed and that's why it stopped playing. Google reader has a pop-out function under embedded audio so you can keep it playing in it's own window. That would be good. So far I have not seen much audio on FF.
- Kevin Shannon
@Kevin: we will look into this. We have a day devoted to bug-fixing on Wednesday, and I will make sure this happens.
- Bret Taylor
We started putting a player for all posts that include media enclosures or audio in MediaRSS, so all podcasts should have play buttons now.
- Bret Taylor
@Bret Talk about service. That's what makes this place great.
- Kevin Shannon
Utterz is the easiest way to post audio from any phone. They have also paid attention to user input from the start and have built their service to work well.
- Christian Burns
now I know why Utterz is down, Scoble posted about it on FF :-)
- Duncan Riley
I dont use my twitter or jaiku accounts but i did try utterz awhile ago, and i like to talk more then type and rather listen then read, and that was pretty nice to do, if we can @ talk for a min and also attach news stories or what have you then it would be cool to see a flock of users to its community, I'd like to see how communication evolves in the upcoming years...will twitter ever make some drastic changes, other then 3rd party support they have stayed the same for the most part, right?
- Tony C.
thx, also noticing i have some FF echo here becuase of twitter, perhaps twitter is the one service not to feed into here
- sean percival
Interesting how if the first comment is "Great article!" that I'm far more likely to click on the link and check out what was written.
- Robert Scoble
Me too, they are like preemptive blog comments! The best of the day/week listings are very cool too. Easy to see where the swarm is talking. http://friendfeed.com/summary...
- sean percival
So we need a "tag team" to get noticed? One to publish, and another to say "Great article!" & click "like" :-)
- Mitchell Tsai
If momentum continues, you'll see lots of peeps "boosting" ff content just like what is done with digg, yahoo buzz , google etc. ;) The best organic content will still rise pretty high though.
- sean percival
Sean, don't worry about the twitter echo. If anyone is annoyed by it, they can hide that particular twitter entry, or all your twitter entries.
- Phil G
Robert -- me too! That's why I reserve it for truly good articles. ;)
- Phil G
There are so many new services. Thus, we run to each new service, play around for a bit and then quickly abandon it. FF is the exception, however. :-) Great article.
- Roger Chen
I was just thinking this weekend about how the social revolution has become the next stage of bit barf. Far too much going on out there, FF is sorely needed!
- Vermyndax
from twhirl
To the point in your post about owning your FriendFeed, couldn't agree more. I wish WordPress was more like FriendFeed. A widget in the sidebar or an import of FF comments just doesn't do it for me. Had no clue when reading the first list of comments on your blog what the heck Scoble was talking about until I realized he was referring to comments over here on FriendFeed.
- Dominic Jones
Constantly changing just to keep up with the pack.
- Bob Gannon
Excellent post and definitely where SM needs to go!! We need tools to help us control and manage our online identities / brands. I like the ME central concept!
- Susan Beebe
I found this via FF but lost the page it came from, I did want to "like" it but for the 1st time i seen a plugin with comments and likes, and instantly could like it from the site it originated from...which brings me to... how long before we have this on every type of blog platform, and also on media or any other sites sort of like "X amount of digg's" I'd love to add this to a few pages, other then wordpress, nice article too.
- Tony C.
yeah... I find it a little amazing that I've blogged for 3 years to little effect but I've had amazing conversations here on friendfeed. I love it.
- Stefan Hayden
Dave, glad to see you on FriendFeed, it is great having your feedback here on things.
- Thomas Hawk
Igor, no -- I think it's about Scoble. I don't really know Shel very well, met him a few times over the years. JC's complaint with me appears to be that I wrote a bad review of Mahalo. If something else is bothering him, I wish he'd say what it is, without all the BS about meds, and mental hygiene and puppets. It's really unbecoming of a CEO who wishes to be taken seriously. When have you seen a CEO behave this way -- in public?
- Dave Winer
I personally do not see Mahalo as a viable search engine, even though Scoble claims it is to replace Google. SEOmoz Rand Fishkin called Scoble's opinion on search engines moronic! I grew up in the same neighborhood as Jason around the same people, so I know his ways. Nothing new! Give him a CEO title but he is still a Gumba!
- Igor The Troll יִצְחָק
I grew up in NY long before JC was even a zygote -- and I don't think it's tough to hire a comedian to taunt people. It's like hiding behind your mothers' skirt. I think he's a child, a baby, very immature. Not a tough guy. Not even slightly tough.
- Dave Winer
I'd spend way more time on FF if I could change the unreadable light-grey-text-on-white format. It kills my eyes. The conversations may be good, but the UI is horrid
- Lucretia Pruitt
@geekmommy - greasemonkey script? custom CSS? you can change the UI if you're really determined. :-)
- Dossy Shiobara
Well, we can get Massad after him! All it takes is one email. lol
- Igor The Troll יִצְחָק
Ok Dave nice I see the picture clearly. When Loren first came out with criticism of Shel it was valid because of how Shel did the video interview, it was inane. So Loren goes making fun of Shel, which was funny at first. I told Learn enough, chill out. WTF you want from the guy, So he blocked me on Twitter, and then on FF. Loren is a real Tool. Did Jason get him, probably yes, the guy is sponsoring him.
- Igor The Troll יִצְחָק
Shel is not really a fighter and does not know how to stand up for himself, which is sad, because you need to have steal balls to deal with this guerrilla warfare. I say best thing keep all of this out in the open and let the community decide. People are not blind, they know who is sincere and who is a Flaming Troll like Loren.
- Igor The Troll יִצְחָק
I hear you it is Fascism! But I do not trust Scoble solution to enforce the Internet. Since when we trust Government? http://friendfeed.com/e... I want the Internet to belong to the People. By the people for the people.
- Igor The Troll יִצְחָק
We as technological leaders of the Internet can police ourselves against a few bad apples. Remember it is the Internet Global Village.
- Igor The Troll יִצְחָק
TechnoFascism. Shel Israel can play the role of Evita. Scoble is the new Juan Peron. Jason Calacanis as Benito Mussolini. Mike Arrington as Francisco Franco and starring the Shel Israel Puppet as Adolf Hitler!
- Dave Winer
I'm auditioning for the role of Leon Trotsky, hiding out in Mexico City.
- Dave Winer
Dave, you are being sardonic here. Scoble scares me the worse! He has young people following him blindly as if he is a demigod.
- Igor The Troll יִצְחָק
Scoble is now forming national technology policy. Scary. Dave, watch your back. Somebody took a hammer to Trotsky's head in mexico. Always bet on the stalinists -- they're not threatening at all, just simple agrarian reformers ;)
- Oldengrey (Jay)
we need to see more of this from A-listers. If you move your conversation here, your followers will follow suit.
- Shivanand Velmurugan
Yeah Leon died a horrible death but as Noah says he got to do Frida before that. :-) On second thought maybe Scoble should be Stalin.
- Dave Winer
wow... @DaveWiner on the Anti-Scoble movement now too? I'm getting pissed. I started that.
- Noah David Simon
Frida would of been fun,Trotsky best of all the reds. Diego 1of da best artists there ever was. What a triangle
- Noah David Simon
Don't think Diego cared strangely. I'll play Diego
- Noah David Simon
I love Scoble! Come on who wouldn't want to play the role of Stalin in Tech Goes Fascist. He gets to blow up the swastika on top of the Reichstag! What could be more fun?
- Dave Winer
I left out Steve Gillmor. Hmmmm. I think he plays Howard Cosell and interview Loren Feldman who plays Joe Frazier to Shel Israel as Mohammed Ali. Feldman just sits there dumb and has no idea what to say while Ali messes him up. When they get in the ring Ali plays rope-a-dope. That's what hell will be like for Feldman.
- Dave Winer
Underneath the share, you can click on "More" and select "Reshare this Entry" and it will give you a dropdown with other rooms to share it to, and will do so verbatim.
- cmiper
@felix was this using the FF API or some other method? doesn't appear to be much Room support in the FF API right now... thanks!
- Ron Emrick
Ron, sadly, you're right - I do everything using screenscraping or using the conventions that I see in the html. Would like to do a lot more interesting stuff if there was the equivalent for a profile page for a room, but alas not yet. I suspect it won't be long before FF itself obsoletes the need for this app. :)
- felix
@felix thanks for the details... myself, I'm at least hoping for some API support. it would obviously be nice to have a searchable directory of sorts to find rooms. its really tough to know what's out there now and i'd hate to duplicate a topic if its already in existence and there's an active community participating. looks like FF didn't care much for this when they launched the feature
- Ron Emrick
Microsoft isn't going to gain all that much, Although I'm a big fan of yahoo pipes lately. This acquisition certainly isn't going to compete with Google any time soon. This is old news tho, isn't Yahoo and Microsoft working out some type of merger of sorts?
