Don't link redirectors effectively cloak sites for search engine purposes? This came up with someone wanting to make sure Ad Manager link redirects don't steal all their SEO. I've also wondered this searching Twitter and seeing all most posts using shortened URLs and each URL is different. The answer is: it depends.
It depends if the service uses a 301 redirect. This video explains what's going on: http://buildanichestoreblog.blogspot.com/2009.... This page shows which services uses a 301 redirect: http://searchengineland.com/analysi.... Most URL shortener services don't behave correctly. And it doesn't list Ad Manager so I'm not sure yet if it does the right thing. - Todd Hoff
Ah, Ad Manager does the wrong thing. Using http://www.rexswain.com/cgi-bin... to test one of my ads it uses a 302 redirect, which means the link won't count for SEO. Not good. - Todd Hoff
Rather than endure an extra redirect for deshortening why not just share logs? - Todd Hoff
