Not thrilled w cloud-based *living* - I like to be able to control my destiny & that of my info. Giant corps even google don't work 4 me.
Very impressed with Seesmic's web-based twitter client. There cuz they support the new twitter lists well. Waiting for Tweetie 2 4 Mac.
One thing Droid has going for it is the *openness* of the Android platform. It just feels better. The Cluetrain manifesto named it in 1999.
Droid positives for me: Verizon coverage, lot more screen pixels, 5 mpx camera w flash, multi-tasking. Would like better w no phys keybd.
Hard core Blackberry users who love their email wouldn't want inferior keyboard experience - flat keys, jammed against top and so-so email.
Following Droid buzz. Weaknesses for me are app shortage, lack of polish on lots of things, clunky phys keybd, too google cloud-based.
I want to be rich enough or journalist enough to be able to have multiple phones, like the Droid. Wouldn't switch but want it too.
Now that you can add people to lists easily on twitter.com or seesmic desktop, I'll play a bit w Twitter lists. Wanting Tweetie 2 lists tho.
Looking at how good gmail on Droid is -- wishing AGAIN that you could at least mark or flag emails on iPhone Mail. Apple!
Tried the new Starbucks instant. Yummy. Other than boiling water, it only takes 10 secs to brew. Amazing. You get 8 oz for $1 or 12pks/$10.
@simplenoteapp I can't wait for whatever you guys do next.
@vmenanno Business card reader is the name of the app. I have tried it a bit and am still looking for optimal scanning distance, light, etc.
@iggyp Hey Iggy, thanks for the tip on scanning books with the iPhone Jotnot app and how well it works. Will be trying that ASAP!
OMG. Sid Meier's Civilization is coming to Facebook? That could be a way to get me to spend time on Facebook I guess... Addicts beware.
FYI: The Business Card Reader app requires a 3GS.
Just popped for Business Card Reader iPhone app $5.99 reviewed on TechCrunch.
I really like the monochromania theme on NetNewsWire on Mac. Makes the full post really attractive.
@dogboi Evernote performance depends I think on the quantity and type of *notes* you have. I have 1200 emails sent, 2000+ webclips, photos..
The Android 2-based Droid is another good reason NOT to switch to AT&T/iPhone if you are a tech-inclined Verizoner ready for a new contract.
I want to go on record as liking the 3 column Apple Mail View compliments of the Letterbox plugin. On a 13" wide screen, it's nice.
@dogboi Hopefully, long before you have thousands of evernotes, evernote will have scaled up performance-wise.
For the time being, until Evernote gives me better performance, I'm putting real notes, not clipnotes, into Simplenote app. Text only. FAST!
@binaryassist Yep, Running Evernote on Snow Leopard & 3GS. I find 3GS Evernote quite frustrating at times - again w lots of notes/webclips.
@Durwin Atebits says they put features into Tweetie 2 that would support coming features in twitter. So hopefully lists in tweetie 2 soon.
@agir Evernote gets sluggish with a couple thousand notes which is what you get if you use it beyond personal notes.
@ChrisKubica When it comes to searching - a major feature, the Kindle kills the Kindle on iPhone w book, notes, store, google, wikipedia.
@bittailor Let us know your exp w Mikhail's window controller thingy for FileMaker. My designer wants better window aesthetics in our app.
1st twitter lists like: When you click on a list (you don't have to subscribe), you plunge into a sort of chat room. Try b4 you buy.
@agir I bet @evernote has a twitter evernote rss feed, & will see my tweets & fix the performance. Gotta make your premium customers happy.
I haven't yet started following @campsoftware/filemaker twitter list, but he's got the biggest fm list so I'm dabbling in it.
