@sglassmeyer Just finished episode 5. I'm kinda sorta hooked now. But those first 3 eps were BAD.
@sglassmeyer As I suspected, the show got better as soon as Eric showed up. The Jason subplot about his, um, medical problem helped, too.
@sglassmeyer I'm getting impatient waiting for him. Alexander Skarsgard was so good in Generation Kill. He's the reason I'm watching TB.
@sglassmeyer Sookie needs a shrink more than a creepy vampire boyfriend who always has his head tilted down and his lips slightly parted.
@sglassmeyer Sookie needs a shrink, not a creepy vampire boyfriend whose always has his head tilted down and his lips slightly parted.
@sglassmeyer 2 eps in and I'm not sold. The vampires are over-the-top with their brooding and Tara's crush on Jason isn't believable at all.
It started rough, but picks up. It's not good like The Wire was good. It's good like potato chips dipped in Miracle Whip are good. - Sarah G.
@sglassmeyer As an old school vampire fanboy, I'm VERY skeptical of all the new vamp movies/books/etc. Took me until now to give TB a chance
Finally watching the pilot episode of True Blood.

@sglassmeyer Shhhhhhh... don't worry your pretty little head about it, baby. It ain't your concern.
Had a nightmare that I arrived at my Twitter for Libraries talk at #aall2009 AJCU Lunch unprepared. Perhaps I should work on those slides...

@sglassmeyer Now that there will be 10 Best Picture nominees, will you still be attending an all day Oscar marathon next February?
@JocelynZombie I doubt it. Perez Hilton isn't a reliable source of anything. http://mashable.com/2009...
Um, why is PerezHilton.com showing up in Google News search results?

@montserratlj When you hear the generic early 80s score (think cheesy horns and synthesizers), you'll really wish Ashby had gotten his way.
@montserratlj Al Schwartz said Ashby originally intended to score the movie with Police songs, which would've made a huge difference.
@montserratlj Don't expect a masterpiece. This was during Ashby's decline, and it's a bit of a mess. But an interesting mess.
@montserratlj Angelina was only in it briefly at the end, but Ann-Margret was good. All the performances were great, if a little broad.
@montserratlj It's actually a 1982 film. Ashby's director's cut was recently discovered in the UCLA archives and is out on DVD today.
