"A three-alarm fire is burning Whatcom Middle School in Bellingham. The fire was reported by a neighbor at 1 a.m. Thursday, and Fire Chief Bill Boyd told The Bellingham Herald it had burned through most of the roof within 15 minutes and heavily damaged the building's third floor."

Last night Whatcom Middle School, a historic School building was heavily damaged by fire probably started by the welding activity on the roof as part of renovations currently underway. It is probably a total loss and a new school will need to be build of the students absorbed into the three remaining middle schools. The school building in the past...
