When you are reading something in the main page of friendfeed if there are new updates the display starts scrolling down for pulling up the update which is quite disconcerting. May be you can take a leaf from how search.twitter.com shows "3 new updates" or something like that which unless clicked wont pull up the updates.
Just hit pause and refresh with manually.

Why doesnt this FFsearch: "jason adobe connect" (without quotes) match this page http://friendfeed.com/welovea... I had a hard time trying to find this page from words I could recall from memory. It doesnt match "mikogo TrafficBug" when I remembered I answered this query with the word "mikogo"
Since RSSCloud plugin has been released, (for quick rss pings for your blog posts to reach rss readers) should we go ahead and install the plugin in wordpress blogs? WPD already have it? Can anybody confirm?
Another thing is that I would like to be notified via email of threads of interest that I choose when I post to them. Takes a hard time trying to find something you remember you posted to and was of interest and it has scrolled beyond the first page of your 'my friendfeed' page (the page you get after login)
I'd like a 'star' system which allows me to click on a star and then track that thread in a 'starred' list then have the usual notification options.

When I try to post something using friendfeed's textbox at the top of the screen that appears immediatelya fter logging in to friendfeed, wouldnt it be better to provide autocompleting list of rooms I could post to (even those I am not subscribed to)
I wanted to post to friendfeed feedback room, though I didnt know it was called as such, and I wondered why I didnt appear when I started typing in the room name in the To: field, then I found I had to click on Browse/edit groups, subscribe to that room then it appears in autocomplete...

is there an app/program that fits this usage scenario: I would add varying lengths of text (text snippets) and it would keep on adding them into a 'black hole', and provide a search interface (bring up results as I start typing). I have been using Treepad to categorize and archive text snippets, and it has really grown a lot... any alternatives?
I am not looking for indexing documents on the local drive - that would be done by Google client or x1, the prob with treepad is that, you would need to spend time opening the correct treepad file and then navigating to the right folder in the left... I would also need to take backups and the backup would need to be single or spliced files (user defined size) (but this point is not that important).

I'm not sure what do you want. But have you researched about evernote?

from fftogo
I did check Evernote, but it stores my stuff on the web. I would like something where I can store my data locally, and a minimal program, I think Evernote is kinda bloated. A notepad like interface where I can copy paste text, and it goes into a free form database, and when I start typing in the search bar, the relevant text snippets that contain those words would appear in the search results - very simple really, I already checked google desktop - it indexes files - I would like less files, not more...

I tried Connected Text wiki and was turned off by the number of buttons in the toolbar.

I just came across this in a search result - any idea what is it about? www.google.com/labs/popgadget/search?start=0.
