A Transman’s Answer to Transman Invisibility - http://projectpastiche.wordpress.com/2009...
"Thanks for this post. It’s only in North America where weekly injections are commonplace. Some forms of testosterone are administered every 3 months. The US FDA is soon to approve a form of T that is injected at this interval. I can’t remember the name now… starts with “N”. Here’s a journal article about this very topic. In Australia and Europe, guys are sometimes prescribed Sustanon and/or Reandron. These also have a longer life than Cypionate/Enanthate." - Trans Man

"Well, the VVF sucked big time, but I’ve now been symptom-free for 6 weeks, so it appears that I self-healed. I’m still cautious, but you can imagine my relief." - Trans Man

"Hey Al, I have no idea if the Montreal clinic does hysterectomies or not. They don’t mention the procedure on their website. You could give them a call. I know the Belgrade and some Asian teams combine top surgery with hysto, but off the top of my head, I can’t think of any in North America who do this. Can you use your funding in Ontario? I hear there is a good top surgeon (McLean) in the Toronto area, so perhaps you could get both procedures done through that surgeon. in any case, congratulations on getting funding! Did you also get approval for bottom surgery?" - Trans Man

"Thanks Chalen, I’m glad this post spoke to you! The more I explore the trans male world, the more interesting takes on masculinity I find. There’s certainly no one way to be trans, and no one way to be male. Keep messing with people!! (I know Jacky would back you up on that too!)" - Trans Man
"Not medical tape, noooo! Just kidding, but I have had enough medical tape and hair rippage this past year to last a lifetime. As I was being discharged after my hysterectomy, the nurse ripped the tape off my inner thigh that had held the catheter in place. That is the most pain I can recall ever experiencing. Anyway al, personally, I don’t experience highs and lows at all with my injection cycle, though I know it’s common. Weekly injection helps fight it (I inject biweekly.) Perhaps you’ll want to try this." - Trans Man

"I assume you are in the US. Check with Strohecker’s Pharmacy. They only list cypionate on the website, but I can’t see why they wouldn’t be able to bring in enanthate. I know many people who order from there." - Trans Man
Waiting for my hysterectomy surgery date - http://genderoutlaw.wordpress.com/2009...
"Thanks, Brian! If you check out some more recent posts here you’ll see that I suffered a rare complication from my hysterectomy. It seems to be resolving, but it’s impacted my life considerably. Interesting comment about penetrative sex and meta/phallo. There are boat loads of FTMs who either have hysto or not, and do not have any genital surgery, but do not engage in penetrative sex. Perhaps this is not news to you, though your comment seems to imply that if I do not have meta or phallo, then I must be into penetrative sex. As female bodied people, all trans men are at risk of developing incontinence, hysto or not, though the risk is higher for those who have had hysterectomies. This is more common in people who are older, have had children, smoke, or are overweight, as the pelvic support structures can be more compromised (pelvic organ prolapse.) There’s also a risk of damaging pelvic nerves with hysterectomy, and while it’s much less common, this too can cause incontinence." - Trans Man

"Thanks for your comment, Bob! Yes, reactions to cottonseed oil are pretty common actually. I haven’t heard of anyone having reactions to sesame oil though, so I’m guessing it’s a less common occurrence." - Trans Man

"I have no idea if this potential client and his colleague/my existing colleague have discussed me. I do know (via traffic analysis) that the potential client has not visited my website, which shocks me. They want to hire me based on my past work—which was very publicly known in the industry—and recommendations. Yesterday, I gently guided them to my LinkedIn profile. We shall see if this helps or hinders…" - Trans Man
"Um, yeah, I totally hear you, and am in the same boat (pass me a paddle!!) It’s not malicious, as you say, it’s unfeeling and unthinking. Some of it may be unconscious, and some of it is conscious–people not wanting to step outside their little bubble of comfort to extend a little grace. “So, it makes you uncomfortable to switch pronouns with me? How about a little compassionate thinking about how uncomfortable you make me feel as I present myself to the world as male only to be outed by your slips? How about some recognition of my journey into manhood, friend?” I was reclusive before transition, and this all makes me more so now." - Trans Man
