"Amen to Chris Lang above. I would just add that posting only 3 times a week is going to hurt you as well. I am circled by about 14,000 people (and get tons of engagement and traffic from it, by the way) and follow about 3500, mostly very active users. I'm on Google+ a lot, but not all day. A post only every few days from the NY Times is probably going to slip by unnoticed in my busy stream." - Mark Traphagen
