Louis - I like the links on the home page, but EVERY employee gets that? I can tell you that lots of storage people are going to be scared by all of the "interwebs" stuff. I <3 the Emulex guys and know they're trying to update their image, but I'd think that most of them have bigger issues that learning to explain what FriendFeed and SlideShare are when people look at them funny.

Personally, it seems way too cluttered to me. I would rather just have a link to a page on the company's website that lists all of their various connections. I'm almost as jaded to those icons as I am to banner ads. If I want to know about the company I will be looking at their website first, then their blog, then whatever other services interest me, but I'll always go to their website first. If that's not impressive then it doesn't really matter what they're doing in other spaces.

Looks good to me. Simple. IMO, I would (1) bump name size +2 pts (2) maybe italicize title or choose different font, so it will jump out at you, but not as much as name (3) remove "www." from website. (4) I haven't seen this in real-life to look at overall point sizes. Often people's business cards need ALL pts sizes +2 to +4. As my 72-yr old Dad always reminds me, older people can't...

I am an instructor and just integrated Friendfeed into my classes for sharing, etc. The groups and privacy were the winner. I cannot see taking the same thing over to FB even if it had the functionality because of its rep. I liked having a professional social media, and a private one on FB for my friends. I am somewhat bummed.

Interesting to see that Andrew was the first one to bring up the business side of porn. I've worked for companies that stood to make a significant amount of revenue if we accepted business from pornography purveyors. Unfortunately for our top line, we let the "morals" of top leadership prevent us from making a good business decision. Once we get over the stigma of our sexuality and allow it to become a topic of everyday conversation, businesses that go about it smartly will make lots of money.

Robert, I wish I'd learned to block early and fast - it would have saved me a lot of grief here on friendfeed, as a few people ruined my experience here and I'm still slowly recovering. *Sigh*

So I went looking for interesting naked men and all I found was a still from a film. old news, watched, it, nothing to comment on. I'm guessing the majority of the people in an uproar are US based?

I missed the naked man pic. There was one person who posted a bunch of barely clothed ladies. I got bored with seeing all the pics of ladies and since I thought he was still a good guy, I just hid his FF posts. I do however block mean-spirited people.

I think it's impolite to post NSFW images on the main feed. It's always work hours somewhere in the world too. Actually a couple of times I was so shocked at what I saw that I froze and didn't hide it fast enough :(

Richard, I wouldn't mind if someone shared a photo of a dick (not that i'd enjoy it, I wouldn't) on friendfeed, it's just the fact that I never intended for this to happen. Posterous had Auto posted it, to both Twitter and FriendFeed, so either way it was bound to show up. Why it showed up was an accident. I only meant it to be viewed on Posterous not on Twitter, nor FriendFeed.

So, do you understand why someone would not want to comment on the original thread or not? It's a real simple question you've been unable to answer so far. You've got plenty of time, clearly. If you don't like all the penis threads you're seeing, you probably sub to the wrong people, I only see this one.

It's easy to make the mistake of not realizing or forgetting that something will automatically pop up over here. It's happened to me before (not w/ pics, but Disqus comments - nothing bad, just didn't make sense once over here). There are so many services that can be imported over to FF that one could quite easily forget about something unless you review it and keep it fresh in your mind.

I'm still in shock to find that they had male full frontal nudity in a movie! It's about time. I totally believe NSFW content should not be posted on the main feed. We do have to accept that occasionally something will slip through. A lot of companies are blocking social networking sites. Right or wrong, they do want you to do your job. If it's is such a risk for you, possible you shouldn't be on ff at work anyway. Just sayin'

I hope FF administration sees things this way, hide and block is actually a very simple solution and a truly excellent one. This is sort of how censorship got out of hand at Flickr though. Started with stuff like this and then the next thing you know they had a whole group dedicated to stamping out anything potentially offensive on the site ending up deleting entire accounts and thousands of photos willy nilly because they had a bad hair day instead. It's easy for people to overreact to stuff like this.

I tried to purchase a music video. I searched iTunes, nope. The record label's site, again, no luck. I decided to just watch it online. Record labels site, nope. Artist's site, nope. MTV, nope, only if you're in the US. So I just watched the illegal copy on Youtube. Maybe the RIAA should dedicate some man hours to servicing paying customers...
