Completely disassembled my Griffin PowerMate and fixed the LED. A little scratched up now, perhaps, but pulsing with DIY-repair pride.

For the record, I had even more fun at Zombieland than I did at Shaun of the Dead. That opening sequence was worth the price of admission.
Bro, that opening sequence was fantastic! It was opening sequence of "Watchmen" good (thought that was the best part of "Watchmen" in my opinion). - David Fendley

The jig is up. Actually, I have another embarrassing picture of me and my friend standing next to a cardboard cutout of Christie Brinkley. Probably the same year. No lie. - Graham English
No way! ... I guessed it? lol lets see it! - Kay Designer
What's crazy is that I just found the picture with the cardboard Christie. I just moved the other week and happened to find it so I put it on the bookshelf by the bed. Just showed it to Katie and she laughed. Not sure if she was laughing with me or at me though. :/ - Graham English

discovered soy milk is not as horrible as previously advertised.
Now who would advertise a product as horrible? - Mar₭ Liŋdŋer
Heh. I'd only ever had fresh milk that a friend's dad made, and it was awful. Sweetened, in other things, it's pretty inoffensive. - Jaclyn
Some brands are horrible, but I stick with Silk and Vitasoy -- those taste pretty good. - Librarienne
I still drink mostly 2% cow's milk as the barbarian that I am but am being slowly converted to soy. I agree those 2 brands are much better than some. Did try some hemp milk recently but it was just not right, esp. for the price. - Mar₭ Liŋdŋer

A Scalable Inman Flash Replacement (sIFR) plugin for jQuery; basically, it replaces inline text in your web page (such as blog titles) with more attractive, Flash-rendered versions. This technique allows you to use custom fonts in browsers that don't support CSS3's font specifications, and perhaps more importantly allows you to antialias the text in a predictable manner. - Evan Sims from Mento

tales from the city: I think I just interrupted a scam artist at the ATM
unintentionally. Old woman is taking out 100s of 20s (limit?) and she accidentally drops them on the ground, luckily no wind. A youngish guy walks up to her and starts picking up the money, and then looks at me sheepishly, and stays with her. - anna sauce
Then they go to the back of the ATM line to "do some more transactions" and she told me, "you can go first." - anna sauce
this is the cable-car turnaround so there's all kind of hucksters there. I think what's going on is that he's getting her to get cash for him, the age difference was upwards 40 years. She seemed *really out of it* and it took her 10 minutes to just get the cash out in the beginning (before line formed.) - anna sauce
could just be that my urban-scam antennae are just too alert. But getting back in line? That was weird. Like, he feels guilty or something. Guilty of what? Hmmm. - anna sauce
Or they were trying to fix a card reader into the ATM and you disturbed them. - WorldofHiglet
Agatha, not Anna :) - directeur
I have to say I listen to my intuition on these things- I broke up a pickpocketing situation in China by listening to body language, etc. - anna sauce
