Kelly, he can take medication, but the doctor said it causes more damage than the seizures do and can also harm their internal organs. - Trish R

There's always the chance the vet is giving me the worst case scenario. Last year, he had a really bad seizure that lasted longer than the others and the vet ran some tests, thinking he might have to be put down, and everything turned out ok. So here's hoping she's wrong! - Trish R

James, I hope so, too. The vet didn't say "the next seizure will be his last," but she said that he's going to have more and more trouble snapping out of them as quickly as he has in the past, until they eventually weaken him to the point where he can't snap back anymore. :-( - Trish R
