Wow, Michael Rose's reply here http://www.readwriteweb.com/archive... on ReadWriteWeb about the new Twitter settings totally made me realize why Twitter has such a user retention problem! The setting is the default & been for over a year. Meaning everyone new who's been signing up for Twitter never see the Tweets from the people they follow that begin with an @xxx
Which is no wonder why they see the service as kinda pointless and stupid and "don't get it". They just see whatever the people they're following blurt out and never see a conversation. They also only see conversations on accident after they start if a subsequent tweet doesn't start with @. They all must be like "what is so and so talking about". It must make the initial experience with this "no tweets that begin with @" pretty boring. - Adam Turetzky
This is ridiculous. Does it apply if I use something like tweetdeck? - Gershbec
Looks like it does apply to something like Tweetdeck. I tell you, lately technology is pissing me off - nothing seems to work right anymore. I'm ready to move to a monastery. - Gershbec
