Identify the behavior you want to change, figure out a consequence you can follow through with (e.g. time out), explain it to Violet, and follow through. Repeat about 1400 times until she's 4 and then things are better.

Bruce: yeah, it's the "repeat about 1400 times" part that's hard on me. m9m: it doesn't, she gets her way with cuteness :)

Distraction and deflection still work at that age (though not quite as easy as at age one). Think Aikido and Jedi mind tricks. Don't turn everything into a battle, just point out a shiny, new, fun object/toy/food/idea/game etc.
