Leo!! Been listening for over....18 YEARS Oh my goodness...were getting old - John Apostoli
With all the talk - ion, Eee, etc. -is there really a HTPC for less than $1000 which will play BR and H.264 without studdering? - ClaytonRoad
I agree Leo - they shouldn't be upset. Those people signed a contract (and I did as well, so I'm included in that) that said they don't get a subsidized phone for 2 years) - Kevin "Yeaux" Dupuy
THANK YOU for covering the Iran elections and the blackout in the U.S.! - Kevin "Yeaux" Dupuy
Yeah Kevin Ditto with the Iran Election, thanks Leo - John Apostoli
BR disks are lame. online and digital content are the future. abandon dvd and BR - AhronZombi
Clayton my Dell Studio Hybrid is quiet, plays Blu-Ray beautifully. Think I spent a hair under $800. - Jude
iPhone 3G S not worth the higher upgrade price 4 new things I will wait 2 upgrade next June - Jack McLoughlin
OK take out BR and add Flash - ClaytonRoad
I love how racists Americans make Iran to be a threat and extremist but they are the most liberal Muslim nation in the middle eat. they are allot like the US - AhronZombi
Jack: I agree. I think the benefit of the 3GS for Apple is to gain more customers who haven't been swayed by the phone yet. - Kevin "Yeaux" Dupuy
Let's not do politics - John Apostoli
I can play HD podcasts fine on it if that's what you mean. - Jude
I held out with the 2G from June 2007. My $199 3GS will arrive in the mail on the 19th. Yea Apple. - Stan Cook
What is the word with the new Palm Device - John Apostoli
@jude thanks - ClaytonRoad
well the plain 3G is $99 that is just crazy and well worth the money - Jack McLoughlin
What does this have to do with Tech? What's the tech angle? Forget the politics - Greg
The Pre is an outstanding SECOND PLACE smart phone. - Stan Cook
I recently bought my iPhone 3G from AT&T (I wanted to wait for the Pre or the G1, but I'm stuck with AT&T for a FamilyPlan, so I was limited) and I'm fine with it. That being said, as an openSUSE user, I want something compatible with my OS. - Kevin "Yeaux" Dupuy
Those who hate to talk about politics are not open minded and have crappy racist/republican opinions. face it your a ass if you make a comment like "Let's not do politics" - AhronZombi
Whose calling who a racist, AhronZombi ? - Greg
Ahron: The discussion Leo is having is about how the mainstream American media isn't covering real news, yet the people are. He's not presenting a political viewpoint right now. And you really don't have to bash a particular political viewpoint, you know... - Kevin "Yeaux" Dupuy
The Pre is basically the iPhone without Steve Jobs' input. - Thunderwing
Waaa! enough please dont flame me guys. im open minded and open to discussing political view point if that bothers you your just a jerk. - AhronZombi
If you have waiting for an iPhone then the $99 is an outstanding way to go but the 3GS is worth the extra $100 - Stan Cook
Leo: it's kinda late for a graduation, huh? At my high school, we had graduation in mid-May... - Kevin "Yeaux" Dupuy
Leo has publicly said he is very liberal and has a problem dealing with conservatives. I love that he isnt afraid to say that live on the air - AhronZombi
Ahron: "im open minded and open to discussing political view point" ... earlier "crappy racist/republican opinions" - yeah... - Kevin "Yeaux" Dupuy
not a sentence - yeah - AhronZombi
I'm a Libertarian, and I know many Republicans... NONE of them are racists. Just so you know. Now, I'm also ready to be done with politics on this chat. Or at least keep it civil. - Kevin "Yeaux" Dupuy
Hey Leo check out the Shirt I am going to wear to the Apple Store on Friday. http://twitpic.com/717z6 - Gary Pranzo
Why do people get so defensive over subjects that really don't effect them much at all in the real world, like politics and religion. - AhronZombi
Contracts are contracts. Sometimes you need to think ahead, like I did with my Gen 1 - Stan Cook
Does any1 really believe there will be a long lines like last year or the year b4 4 the iPhone this year? - Jack McLoughlin
Fuck yeah! white zombie rocks - AhronZombi
I'm sticking w/Verizon, so I'll either get a Pre when Verizon gets it or a BlackBerry Storm - Thunderwing
Ahron: Politics does effect you in the real world... from healthcare, to schools (I go to a public school in the U.S.), to infrastructure. Politics determines how these things are handled. Now religion in a whole different thing. I agree, so much time and energy is wasted is aruging over religious beliefs and it's stupid. Religion is personal, I hate when people argue about it. - Kevin "Yeaux" Dupuy
hi from georgia vedios ad audios fine - daveccorey
Honestly the worst most customer hating company's are 2 phone company's that just want to fleece you their names are Verizon (the worst by far) and AT&T. People are just dumb and support them blindly because they have money - AhronZombi
Thats my relatives visiting Leo!!! - Scott Whitten
Kev -Religion is personal? please. that's just an excuse to protect those with harmful beliefs from the ridicule they deserve. - AhronZombi
Arron. Just got to the right of each of those post games. Click the little arrow down button and you can then hide that game. You will then not see it anymore. - Stan Cook
When people can openly ridicule religion like other insane ideas. then maybe humanity can become better. Until then we have to struggle to get any kind of progress done - AhronZombi
Ahron - my belief is that your beliefs are your beliefs as long as you don't impose on the rights or will of others. If by 'harmful beliefs' you mean something you disagree with, then they should be protected. If you mean actually harmful to another person, then yes, something must be done. - Kevin "Yeaux" Dupuy
Ahron: that's your belief and that's cool. You know mine now as well. And everyone's happy :-) - Kevin "Yeaux" Dupuy
yeah, you're just too nice... too pleasant... - Steve Austin
Leo is there a way to get Win 7 in Sun Virtual Box to fill up my whole screen on my 24" iMac? - Stephen Pickering
Ahron - I stick w/Verizon because they've always treated me well, even though they're pricey. - Thunderwing
Just got the Kodak ESP7 wireless printer. OUTSTANDING. HP is history. - Stan Cook
We as a society can not give a free pass for those who believe in imaginary tales and creatures that are not even possible. This is seriously holding us back. So many people are afraid to openly say what they know is true because our society protects the few who really believe in religion. But thanks to the internet atheists are seeing that they are not alone, and many of us are coming out of the closet to help everyone progress. - AhronZombi
i need to grab a tall glass of hemp milk - AhronZombi
Yum thats good. the best way to describe the taste of hemp milk is soy milf with a hint of sun flower seeds. But its so good for you compaired to dairy or soy milk the choice is clear - AhronZombi
Ahron: let me say this: religious believers believe that you are dead wrong and they are completely right. Atheists believe that you are completely right and the religious are dead wrong. In my eyes, they're both the same. And their beliefs are fine with me, as long as they're not fighting and protesting each other. I personally have no clue: maybe God is real, maybe he's not. I really don't care, because I believe we have bigger issues to work toward solving in this world. And if it's a belief in religion that's guiding one toward solving those problems, or if it's a belief in simply helping others, I don't care, as long as we're all doing our part :-) - Kevin "Yeaux" Dupuy
The difference is atheists believe in solid facts and are open to changing their world view. Religious believe in things that are totally insane and impossible. its really not comparable at all if you look at it without bias. maybe the flying spaghetti monster is real and he will rape me after i die if i don't eat meatballs every day. but i don't eat meat balls everyday, because that it totally insane. - AhronZombi
The internet is the future and i think we can achieve computational singularity if we openly progress the spread of information exponentially. We are on the edge of the future the bleeding edge. - AhronZombi
what streaming radio stations do you guys listen to the tech guy on, im using KGO right now, i hate that they end the show before its really over. id just use the video stream on twitlive.tv if they didn't mute callers. - AhronZombi
Ahron - Try this flash stream of "The Tech Guy"; it broadcasts all 3 hrs.: http://is.gd/11Osq - Thunderwing
A Kim Komando ad on Leo's show, LOL! Srsly, Kim's cool, but Leo's the best. - Thunderwing
It's a nice 100 F heat index where I am, but then again, you don't live down here without air conditioning - Kevin "Yeaux" Dupuy
Thunderwing - thanks, my browser dosent seem to load that link, i just get a grey page? weird i know flash works - AhronZombi
Ahron - You might want to turn off your browser's ad blockers (especially Adblock or Adblock Plus; I have to turn off Adblock Plus to activate the stream) or reinstall Flash. - Thunderwing
Thunderwing - i got http://is.gd/11OCW to play in a webkit browser - AhronZombi
Try Orca screen reader on Ubuntu... although that reads everything - Kevin "Yeaux" Dupuy
Ahron - I'm glad you got it working! Maybe the ad blocker in the Webkit browser is less draconian about blocking flash, or your Webkit browser doesn't have ad blocking. - Thunderwing
the webkit version of epiphany is a great browser. anyone got a webkit based browser that will support plugins like firefox? - AhronZombi
Yay. 2 more hours of Leo. Just tuned in and tweeting about it. - mrsha
Ahron - running Linux right? What distro? - Kevin "Yeaux" Dupuy
Arch Linux - AhronZombi
Ah, cool. I'm on openSUSE - Kevin "Yeaux" Dupuy
Speaking of Webkit browsers, I'm really enjoying VanillaSurf on the iPod Touch, great tabbed browser, better overall than Safari IMHO. My default for actual usage (Apple automatically & permanently sets Safari as it's default browser.) - Thunderwing
Arch Linux is really nice, but dosent get enough publicity. ITs a rolling release system so you are always running the latest versions of packages without waiting for release cycles like suse. - AhronZombi
Thunderwing - my advise would be to dump the iPhone and get one of the new google phones once the 18 new ones come out. but read reviews and pick the best one first. - AhronZombi
or a Pre i think it runs linux too - AhronZombi
Why go from number one to second place? - Stan Cook
moral reasons, like supporting openess and hurting apple - AhronZombi
Oh, lets hurt Apple. there is a good idea. - Stan Cook
Apple exploits open source software and really hurts the community, i really hope we can destroy them some how. - AhronZombi
I still love the Iphone. Using the old 2g and Ordered the 3GS. I do not like At&T though http://twitpic.com/717z6 - Gary Pranzo
Don just did a podcast on how he does it. - Stan Cook
I'd prefer to see Apple, Palm, and RIM ALL succeed. Competition (including in the smartphone field) begats innovation. - Thunderwing
Gary Pranzo - Your shirt speaks the truth, LOL! Don't be surprised if Apple Geniuses quietly agree with you. - Thunderwing
Ahron - I actually use the iPod Touch, not the iPhone, so I can have the cool multimedia & app features of the iPhone without having to sign an AT&T contract. - Thunderwing
AT&T depends on where you are. I have driving from Seattle to Tucson and never lost a signal. Even in the desert. But in San Francisco they have trouble downtown. - Stan Cook
ultimitly these companys will fail unless they embrace open source and openess when it comes to all their software. OSS will easily suprass them in the long run and their will be no other opion but failure. But what apple does to OSS software pisses me off. They are total jerks and rarely give back, they only use OSS because their developers suck. - AhronZombi
I do not care about MMS but I want Teathering and Slingbox Streaming via 3G - Gary Pranzo
Leo has to be the best Dad ever - AhronZombi
Ya, I would buy the Slingbox app if it worked on 3G. I love my Slingbox. 3G is a bandwidth problem I think. - Stan Cook
just read on macrumors.com that AT&T has sold out the 1st wave of iPhones 3G S A but Apple stores will have plenty - Jack McLoughlin
I understand about bandwidth and would pay a premium for Teathering and Sling Streaming on 3G but AT&T does not even offer an option at this time. - Gary Pranzo
I pre ordered 32gig Iphones for my wife and I at the apple store. - Gary Pranzo
nice Gary I was happy when they announced 32 gig model - Jack McLoughlin
its the PSU leo - AhronZombi
Yeah I did not upgrade last year since they released the same phone with 3G and I was not impressed and knew If I upgraded I would not get better price later. AT&T let upgraders get lower price last year only because they were upgrading to more expensive 3G Service. They have no incentive to do that this time for existing 3G owners. My short list was 32gig model and video. - Gary Pranzo
The only reason the converter box's which should cost $15.00 cost $50.00 is because of the stupid coupons so the retailers have no incentive to charge cheaper. This would be OK if the government had enough coupons for people who need them but they left allot of low income people in the lurch. - Gary Pranzo
anybody know if I can stream twit.am from a blackberry? - Gunny Loves his Trixie™
digital dosent degrade, ypu just loose it if your single weakens - AhronZombi
Nope. There is a TWIT.am app for the iPhone that works fine. I got along with a 4gig iPhone for two years. The new 16gig will be fine. - Stan Cook
Leo: I'm curious... could you do an experiment? iPhone has a 3.5" screen, Pre has a 3.1" screen... same resolution. The math says if you hold the Pre at 16" it'll look to be the same size as the iPhone at 18". If you hold them so that the screens are the same size, is there any diff in quality? - Ken Sheppardson
Yes, the nature of consumer electronics is it's expensive to constantly upgrade to the latest and greatest, and something new and better is going to come out next week. - Ken Sheppardson
more republican terrorists killing Americans http://www.reddit.com/tb/8sf8m - AhronZombi
Hello all mighty Leo Laporte! I love your show. Ya! - Zachary TG
