Interesting, flickr just changed the logo on all of their pages in the past few minutes. They just added the "from Yahoo!" logo to the flickr bug.
- Thomas Hawk
from Bookmarklet
Yeah i JUst saw that. I guess this is Yahoo! screaming "see how cool we are!" Yahoo is their best and most valued asset from a user loyalty standpoint.
- Adam Jackson
graphically it seems to clash. I'm not sure the colors and font go together very well and the Yahoo logo part feels very low res, almost pixelated and forced. I suppose glaring "Yahoo!" at people on Flickr from every single page though might be what Yahoo meant yesterday when they announced that their new marketing campaign was going to be "under, new management, yours?"
- Thomas Hawk
It does seem a little pixelated. I'd take a forced logo over Yahoo changing the Flickr logo.
- ChiliMac
I'm surprised they never did this years ago considering how successful it is. Now how long before they re-brand the del.icio.us logo?
- Nick B.
That is really *really* bad. It looks horrible and bolted on and just...bad.
- EricaJoy
something seems off with the Yahoo bug. It's like all pixelated or something. I think it might be a scaling issue. They should use a more professional looking higher res Yahoo logo. It almost makes me wonder if this Yahoo bug wasn't forced on the Flickr team and they purposely made it look crappy to protest the corporate mandate.
- Thomas Hawk
I really wonder what they're trying to accomplish with that, in all honesty. Like what do they imagine this will do for them? Do they think people will look at the logo and immediately go to Yahoo's main site? I don't get the motivation at all, unless this is the first of many changes to come to flickr.
- EricaJoy
from IM
I don't like it. The colours don't work well together, neither do the style of the fonts. Surely they could have come up with something a little nicer.
- Amy
Actually, as far as I can tell, Like in FB does do something: it's basically an empty comment, so you get notified of new comments that occur after you Like it.

@Glen: it's true but what bothers me most is that unlike friendfeed, fb delivers a separate mail for every person that comments on that post. #lame

My 30,000th Photograph on Flickr The photo above represents my 30,000th photograph published to Flickr. It’s a milestone and part of my continuing goal to publish 1,000,000 photos to Flickr before I die. This photograph is from one of my favorite shoots. A shoot I did with my wife and children a ways back in this storm drain in Big Tujunga Canyon.

Hasan, I did stop using Flickr for a while over some some censorship issues a while back. As you know I feel pretty strongly about censorship. I changed my mind though and couldn't really stay away.

"My 30,000th Photograph on Flickr" way to go @thomasHawk. I remember reading yr 10^6 & thinking thats ambitious. Now the Q. In the back of my mind I've been thinking about "how do you a) backup online against flickr takedowns? b) manage & curate the images as times goes on: cost, time etc?
- Peter Renshaw
Well mostly I back up my photos by using drobos as primary storage. I also keep another copy of my finished photos on hard drives off location. I upload pretty much the same photos to Flickr and Zooomr. So I've got two copies. Additionally, almost all of my flickr photos are fed into clustershot where they can be marketed for stock photography. I always upload original sized photographs...

@phil couldn't you do the embed feature... ? post something to posterous.. and then 'edit' the post and paste the embed? Or maybe simply email it?
- Sean
Phil, click on the 'Share' link of the FF entry, then copy the embed code. Create a new Posterous entry, select HTML mode and paste in the embed code. You'll need to edit the width and height (looks like 500 for width). Then post. :-)
- Kol Tregaskes
Don't forget to tag your posts like this ((tag: posterous, friendfeed)) in the subject line of your emails. That way your posts will be seen easier by all other Posterous users when they use the global posterous search.

http://mylescrew.posterous.com/ Right now I'm just testing, the import from Blogger was REALLY easy. I'm trying to "port" BlurbBits (http://ff.im/4tlY2) to make them work better on posterous. The iframe style parameter gets removed, which is different than Blogger (there is *always* something).
- Chris Myles
Amani, the little images for twitter etc you get if you autopost to those sites but you might end up with duplicate posts that way. There is a friendfeed badge you can put in your posterous profile at http://friendfeed.com/embed... use the image format, not javascript.

@koltregaskes, my posterous is at http://alexschleber.posterous.com "Quick Hits Business Mindhacks". Had been using it quite a bit the first 6 months of this year. I'm a big fan of Garry & Sachin, but really wish posterous would hurry up with some of the much needed feature upgrades (skins and/or CSS, Retweet button - just use Tweetmeme, custom sidebar HTML, WYSIWIG bookmarklet, etc.) Seems like they're stalling a bit right now, no?
- Alex Schleber
They have to be careful not to mess with the simplicity of it, though; that's why so many people like it. If they tart it all up, it might as well just be Tumblr. Which already exists.

- ProsePetals (aka Denise)
Wow! I wonder what else Wilson could do to help raising money for Miller like that?
- Mahmood Padura
Spencer, really, that's just embarrassing. There is absolutely no need to defend Republicans against every single real and perceived criticism. Many criticisms are valid and not all have a reasonable counterpoint, including the one discussed in this thread, which is unprecedented.
- Ayşe E.

This guy needs a Youtube, Wiki, 4chan, and mocked to no end on the Internet and be bucketed with the Cheney pile-o-doodoo DIE A TRILLION DEATHS stack. He does not deserve major coverage. #MakesMeSick
- Mona Nomura
Ron, I also don't like useless appearance of hecklers.
- Mahmood Padura
OK, if that is so, where were you guys at when the Dems Boo'd and heckled Bush in 2004 and 2005 State of the Union speeches? especially in 2005 when they heckled him for mentioning that SSI is going broke and needs reform! which was 100% accurate! He wasn't calling his opponents LIARS in his speech either!
- Brian
Then the fact that it is OK for the President to call his opponents in the audience LIARS and not expect any response is the height of ARROGANCE! Especially when he is the LIAR, Dems in the House voted down requiring proof of citizenship for getting insurance, so illegals WILL be able to get coverage if he signs the current version of the bill into law and that was confirmed by the DEM run and independent Congressional Research Service.
- Brian
@Brian: you've missed the point. Wilson's behavior was boorish and uncalled for. that's the point. Wilson was not the only person in the room of the opinion that Obama was less than truthful. his actions were foolish and uncalled for. that's the point. this is _not_ about who lied, it's about who acted out inappropriately.
- MikeAmundsen
@Brian: sorry, but I find it really depressing the lack of perspective people like you bring to these conversations. The “other people did this too" logic is infantile, not to mention disingenuous and irrelevant (as Mike just said above me.) Even if it *were* relevant, what Wilson did is unprecedented.
- Anthony Citrano
@Anthony - I guess you can't figure out that my point is the left and most of their allies in the media didn't express much concern with, what was at that time, an unprecedented event where Dems heckled and boo'd Bush during his State of Union address and doing so when he mentioned SSI's troubles.
- Brian
from BuddyFeed
@Anthony - I guess I find it laughable to listen to Dem Congressman, some of which boo'd & heckled Bush, declare outrage at Wilson's outburst. Tell me what exactly is the difference between the Dems disrupting Bush's speech & Wilson disrupting Obama's?
- Brian
from BuddyFeed
@Anthony - You are flat out wrong when you say Wilson's outburst was unprecedented! Dems beat him to the punch in 04 & 05 SOTUS speeches! I would argue that prolonged booing while President is speaking is at the very least as disrespectful & certainly more disruptive & distracting than a short "you lie" statement.

Brian, why don't you go ahead and make a youtube video that compares the events using the actual video footage and then post it back here. @Chris - I'm sorry but pointing out the fact that SSI & Medicare are going broke and need reform is call for booing? so what you are really saying is that when the President says something YOU don't like it's ok to voice your displeasure!
- Brian
from BuddyFeed
@Chris - Decorum HAD always been that you do not Boo the President during the SOTU address! Dems broke that decorum and now are outraged when a GOP Congressman brakes decorum?
- Brian
from BuddyFeed
@Chris - Was President Bush calling his opponents LIARS in his speech? No, Bush has more class than that! Was Bush refering to citizen protests as spectacles? Was Bush attacking his opposition party in any of his speeches? the point here is that Obama gave a partisan and very political speech where instead of strictly pushing his agenda he decided to attack his critics & refer to them as LIARS, game players, etc... Funny that you wouldn't expect some kind of reaction from those of whom Obama was targeting!
- Brian
from BuddyFeed
Let's be clear on the issue of the bill that Wilson says illegals can be on the public option. He is 100% correct in that assertion and Obama is technically incorrect when he said that his plan (he doesn't have a plan so we have to assume he supports the house bill at the time of his speech) does not cover illegals, it does, they can get on the public option and would have to pay to be...
