"But not everyone is sold on the idea. A joint report by Human Rights Watch and the FDA found that each serving of America is still loaded with high-fructose chunks of institutional racism, homophobia, and xenophobic country songs."

"This was but one of many instances of state posses sounding early alarms about the irresponsible lending at the heart of the current financial crisis. Federal officials brushed aside their concerns... "The Bush Administration and many banks clung to what is known as "preemption." It is a legal doctrine that can be invoked in court and at the rulemaking table to assert that, when federal and state authority over business conflict, the feds prevail — even if it means little or no regulation." seriously, five years ago the warnings shots were fired and no action was taken? not surprising...

how obama got elected? one word: votes. this documentary claims that "the news media, completely enamored with obama, simply refused to do their job." however, it's definitely not the role of media to educate the public on anything (as proven over and over with biases and sensationalism). we know media biases exist. thus, it's our individual responsibility as votes and citizens to educate ourselves and seek the truth on our own behalf such that we make intelligent decisions come voting day. if u simply base ur decisions on what mainstream media tells u, then u r no position to complain. palin's claims in the interview on this site are pretty far-fetched as well.

'...the design world could stand to come down a notch or two — and might actually find a new sense of relevance in the process. That was the case during the Great Depression, when an early wave of modernism flourished in the United States, partly because it efficiently addressed the middle-class need for a pared-down life without servants and other Victorian trappings.'

'...we need to start living within our means and get past the nauseating idea that the essence of our culture and the be-all and end-all of the American economy is the limitless consumption of trashy consumer goods.'

have been researching climate change stuff a lot more over the past year and i'm beginning to agree that this whole global warming theory is one of the biggest shams of our lifetimes. the correlation of CO2 and climate change has never been proven and if u study the science more, it really doesn't make sense. more scientists r beginning to see the same.

when does this stop? institutions need to stop expecting handouts and either sink or swim just like every other industry. the american ppl r the ones that need the help the most right now, not these huge corporations who have ended up where they r due to their own incompetence. chapter 11 bankruptcy laws will help rebuild and restructure it, whereas the bailout will only give much of the same.

'What is the core truth about Detroit? Auto executives will tell you that it’s the credit crisis, health care, retirement costs and unions. Sure, those are real. But the core truth is that for way too long Detroit made too many cars that too many people did not want to buy.'

'While Congress debated aid to the foundering Detroit automakers Sunday, many here whose future hinges on the decision turned to prayer.' one word: ridiculous.
