a place for sharing and discussing research, articles and tip related to user interface design. Feel free to contribute as much or as little as you please.
behance'te çalışmaları dA'ymışçasına tek tek upload etmek yerine, set olarak ekle derim. çalışmalar leziz ve tek sette toplanırsa misal "abstract wallpaper made with apophysis..." serisi olarak, anasayfaya "feature olması" gayet olası.

"I contributed to the user interface design chapter in the recent Springer book “Dynamic Taxonomies and Faceted Search – Theory, Practice, and Experience” (online version) edited by Giovanni Maria Sacco and Yannis Tzitzikas. Based on a definition of core principles and challenges, the chapter presents a taxonomy of navigation modes observed in existing applications. On that basis, design patterns for enabling these navigation modes in user interfaces as well as extensions and related approaches are discussed. The chapter closes with a section on personalizing faceted search. The book itself covers a wide range of topics and current research questions related to Dynamic Taxonomies and Faceted Search from an academic point of view."

"Good navigation gets you places. More importantly, good navigation gets you places without a headache. Even though there are certain exceptions, most websites would be dead in the water without sensible navigation between pages. Do you have a website design of your own handy? Let’s do something uncomfortable. Bring it up in a separate window, and keep it open as you read through this article. It’s time to put your own navigation under the microscope. We’ll make sure that you’re not losing potential visitors by disorienting and confusing them. Ready? Let’s start by asking your site some fundamental questions."

"Browser malware warning pages are tricky things to design. Users are a lazy bunch (productively lazy, that is), and they are unlikely to read the text in every single dialog box you put in front of their faces. They’re much more likely to steam through and click on whatever looks most like a “proceed” button – if they do this on a browser malware warning page, they’re in deep trouble. As a result, browser designers employ various techniques to prevent this from happening."

"Using metaphor is a great way to convey the essence of a product or service’s strategy. It tells the story with little effort on the reader’s part. If you’re looking for ways to get your point across without writing a bunch of documentation, try this first and see where it takes you."
