"The Secret Service has been called in to investigate a swastika found carved into the grounds at the Lakeville Country Club next to the name of President Obama. “It’s being investigated,” said Steven Ricciardi, the special agent in charge for the Secret Service’s Boston office. He declined further comment. Country club grounds keepers found the letter “I,” a swastika and the name “Obama” dug into the green at the 18th hole early yesterday morning, said golf course owner Gary Mosca. “I said, ‘This is sick,’ ” said Mosca, whose home is also located on the 18th hole. “They are going to do this stuff and cause a problem just to be anti-establishment or just to be tough guys. Their minds are probably demented enough to think of anything.”"

I guess a neo-nazi moron wouldn't be smart enough to realize that the left facing swastika is a buddist symbol representing dharma, universal harmony, and the balance of opposites. Because of the association of the right-facing swastika with Nazism, Buddhist swastika (outside India only) after the mid-20th century are almost universally left-facing. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki...

@Tom: Neo-nazi moron is an oxymoron :-) (And clearly they made it left-facing so that it would look right-facing from the sky ... - obscure Friends paraphrased quote.)

Nope. I think they just don't know the difference. It will be the left facing symbol regardless of your point of reference. (I agree about the oxymoron, I tend to insert redundancy when agitated).

Oh wait, I need to get my English skills straight ... (oxymoron had a little alliteration going for itself :P)
- Rene, Pro Button Pusher
@Tom: I saw that earlier and just chuckled to myself; I'm sure most of them don't know the difference, or the origins of the (original) symbol and its rich history. Also, given their ignorance, they probably wouldn't care.

@Jennifer Probably not. The irony is slightly amusing. Not quite enough to overwhelm disgust, but getting there.
