"Rosalina Tipton's been a U.S. citizen for years, but she worries that might not matter. "People don't care," she said. "If you look brown, you're screwed." Tipton and about 70 others turned out Thursday to protest a proposed partnership between the Knox County Sheriff's Office and federal officials on immigration enforcement. The protesters, whose ranks ranged from immigrants to natural-born citizens, said they believe Knox County Sheriff Jimmy "J.J." Jones owes the public an explanation before joining a federal program that's drawn controversy in some parts of the country." -
