I am sorry to hear that you received bad news... I just wanted to say that I agree with what you said. Don't take people for granted. We should all be thankful for the time that we have here. Life is too short and precious!!

I totally agree. Even Peet's in SF offers free wifi, along with a lot of local coffee houses... Starbuck's coffee is always so acidic tasting...

aw man, peets coffee is the business! and like the rest of you, it bites that you have to pay for starbucks wifi...i mean, DAMN!
- Tofu De la Moore
I was a fan of Starbucks' new Wifi strategy until I started explaining it to my brother-in-law and heard how ridiculously complicated it sounded coming out of my mouth. ("You need a card, and you have to register it online and link it to AT&T. Then you need to keep a minimum balance of $5 on it and use it once every 30 days. Okay. When you get into the store you get an authorization screen... ") Because, of course, it IS too complicated. Free, by which I mean really free and simple to use, is better.

not to mention the fact that their coffee sucks ass.

Envious in California about the Tesla. I was checking one out at the Los Angeles Auto Show a few months ago. Love how the electric outlet is in the traditional gas cap location. They were sold out for 2008 though. Bummer!

Robert, saw hi to Thomas - agree, his stuff is awesome
- Graeme Thickins
His photos are awesome. This advice might be beginner stuff for Thomas. When I was shooting Yosemite, I liked underexposing a few stops to catch the color in the granite, but doing the same shots normal to catch the sky. Sunset as the shadows were moving across the rocks were a great lighting situation facing into the Yosemite canyon. Forget the name of the trail - but there's one which winds around 3 of the smaller falls which was quite nice. If you start very early, Half Dome is doable in one day.
