Had wonderful travels, but so good to be home again & in my own bed. And at work today, chef beamed "Welcome back my friend!" :)
I was positive I had said Welcome Back and yet....is not here. Weclome Back! - Jaemi Kehoe
Thank you! :) - Adam Lasnik

On my first day visiting India, I volunteered at a school for underprivileged kids. My friends and I bought the kids some educational gifts, read to 'em, and -- most of all -- even we macho guys had our hearts melt seeing how curious and excited and happy they were. Here's a sample :)

Lot of cuteness there - Hutch Carpenter
In which city are you? I've been teaching basic English to slum children in Benares, 2 years ago. Lots of great souvenirs! - Jérôme Flipo
Hi Jérôme, this school is in Hyderabad. http://rainbowprimaryschool.blogspot.com/. And yep, Hutch, true! - Adam Lasnik
One of the most rewarding experiences of my life was passing out toys, coloring books and clothing with a bunch of friends in Tulum, MX. The smiles on both the childrens and parents faces were priceless. - jcunwired
Lovely lovely! :) - BeeLing
What's amazing to me is just how universal (across India) a love-of-camera has been for kids. I'm not sure if it's an issue of rarely seeing digital cameras, rarely seeing non-Indians in person, or something else... but kids in India have just gone wild (with big smiles or more) when I point my camera at them. Will share more photos later :-) - Adam Lasnik
Has nothing to do with you being white - kids were all over me when I was there and had my camera out. Something magical about being able to turn it around and show them the picture. - Rocky

@livecrunch I love Chrome so far. It's definitely getting my browser attention. It starts faster so I'm more likely to start it than FF.
Chrome is probably the most efficient browser I've seen to date. But maybe that's coz I'm not that old to have seen every browser to date. :) - Imran Hussain
Started Chrome before FF, in fact I don't even have FF open yet. - Roberto Bonini
i am digging it too. weird thing happened to me this morning though. i was in facebook and only certain major nav links were working. I had to revert to firefox. - Don Martelli from twhirl
I haven't launched Firefox since Chrome came out. - Akiva Moskovitz
I'm using Chrome on 2 of my PCs as my primary browser -- it's faster and feels better. Still using Firefox on my Mac, because, well, it's a Mac. :) - Thomas Hawk
Running Chrome on the PC's and Omniweb on the Mac. - Richard Peat
feels like I run into more and more crashes tho..that's kinda a bad thing - Pascal
I've been using Chrome off and on. It doesn't support NTLM so at work I use FF, because I don't want to login to every site. @Imran, lynx was probably the most efficient, but then it was text only. - Shawn McCollum
think twice before using: http://tinyurl.com/6njsjv - Caleb Easterwood
A lot of spin out there that seems to conveniently ignore the fact that this is Chrome 1.0. You think its just going to go away or something? They'll fix the bugs. And Google has quietly encircled Microsoft, and can now slowly choke off their bloodflow. Lots of users (think parents) can now turn on a computer using a non-MS OS, use a Google browser, to read their Google mail, surf the... more... - Indio Apache from twhirl
Glad Google didn't just release a desktop client, then. - Akiva Moskovitz
Chrome in 12 seconds ... http://12seconds.tv/channel... - michael silverton from twhirl
Yeah starting is much faster. only takes a few seconds even with other apps loading, Firefox takes forever. :-( Shame there is no ad-blocking with Chrome, hope that'll come in future versions - Kol Tregaskes from twhirl
I had some issue with Flickr that made me flee back to FF. Can't recall what it was. - B. Hatin
Startup time is only relevant if you actually close your browser once in a while. I can't remember the last time I did that. - Eric P
why why why name your tech blog LiveCrunch... :( - Zee.
History is accessible by either right-clicking or hold-left-clicking the back arrow. Took me a bit to find that. Like it so far. - Andrew Smith
it's now set as my default browser.. even though FF is still better for developing currently - Stefan Hayden
chrome 对google 业务支持非常好,而我几乎70% 时间是耗在这上面的 - qian
- love it too. Just miss the bookmarklets and add-ons the fox gives you! - JA Castillo
It is just so quick to anticipate the website I am typing. It usually gets it after two letters. Fantastic! - Barak B
I've been using it almost exclusively. Even with some Sharepoint sites I use for work and a fantasy football draft. - Brian Newman
I no longer really remember the Chrome startup time, because we've not stopped/quit Chrome since it was installed, nor have we had to. I'd have killed/restarted Firefox a couple dozen times (at least) over the same time period, and IE probably a few times, too. Opera...hard to say, but it doesn't matter anyway. ;) - abacab
I like the feature of 'task manager' for browser, and thats helps keep me running chrome forever, wont have to kill it if some site creats an issue - Veetrag from Alert Thingy
Has anyone noticed a lag when loading javascript/ajax call heavy pages? It seems that the javascript/ajax call has to completely finish before the page will show, FF and IE don't lag but chrome does. - Shawn McCollum
now if it only have a plug-in for friendfeed - Dave Hodson
+1 Eric... I only "stop" Firefox when I am updating an extension. - Daniel J. Pritchett
have they said when they will introduce the mac version? - Johnny Sewell
it has a long way to go but I still enjoy using it. For some odd reason it doesn't like to scroll with my trackpad so I can't use it on my laptop. Certain sites it just won't work with and I've run across a few PNG and font rendering issues. I look forward to seeing how it develops - Zach Chisholm
"Google Chrome vulnerabilities starting to pile up" http://blogs.zdnet.com/securit... - Karim
I'm still waiting before I even test it because it's bad to be early adopter these days. ;) - Daniel Schildt
Robert Scoble
Chrome memory utilization? 61,548 (with Google Reader loaded). Firefox? 215,220 with just Twitter (which takes far less memory). Chrome wins
what else does one expect from Google. Lightweight seems like the company's motto! - Rahul Das
I'm @ only 30 w/ FF & twitter - Jeff (the メガマクダジ of FF)
WebKit / Safari has been kicking Firefox's ass for a while now... - l0ckergn0me
Heck even the UI is ultra light weight - Roberto Bonini
even my laptop feels lighter now! ;) - Jeff (the メガマクダジ of FF)
@l0ckergn0me I tend to think that safari had been kissing firefox's arse -- from flexibility and extendability to popularity and functionality - A.T.
I have tabs open for Facebook, FriendFeed, Twitter, Blogger, Google Reader and about:memory in Chrome and I am at 50,824! - Joe Dawson
Is that with FF2 or 3? And with what extensions? - Dwight Silverman
However, let's compare that with the new Javascript updates Firefox is set to add here soon. Compiled Javascript makes a big difference. - Jesse Stay
Has anyone been able to use the Google Toolbar? - Blake N. Cooper
Hey Stagekid, you can't use Toolbars in Chrome yet, but... you can use bookmarklets! This includes bookmarklets for Friendfeed, Facebook, Google Reader, etc. :) That's not gonna replace all the coolness of toolbars, but I think it's a great start and hopefully it'll be helpful for you. - Adam Lasnik
Now that you mention it, stagekid, no. Must try that in the morning. - Roberto Bonini
I miss all my Firefox gak. - Oldengrey (Jay)
Chome appears to be about a second faster rendering Gmail, by my very informal testing (e.g. have both FF & Chrome open, hit F5 in FF, click the Chrome window, hit F5--Chrome still renders before FF). - Justin Long
Bob- You're such a new tech groupie ;) - Ryan
Chrome does a lot worse with more than 50 tabs, which I end up with a bit too often. - Jake (aka Jawee)
Icecat 3 (Firefox rebranded) is at 161,202 with 16 tabs open for me btw. - Jake (aka Jawee)
I am always floored when I hear people talk about having dozens of tabs. I have, at most, maybe five; and that's when I'm really busy. Otherwise, I trim it down to only what I need presently. Do people use tabs as a kind of bookmark system? Go to a tab rather than to a bookmark? - Akiva Moskovitz
Yup. I am probably making the switch on my very limited resources machine at work. - Geoff Schultz
Same here, much improved performance. V8 is getting the job done. - Dave Martin
Akiva, I see my mom do this. She opens stuff that she thinks she will use and never uses it, or she leaves stuff open that she has used because she thinks she may need it again. I think most people just need to use bookmarks more effectively :) - Rahsheen ™, Coach Rah
Rahsheen(isSoAwesome), it would be neat to see a browser feature that scans your Favorites/Bookmarks and lists off the ones you haven't used in a while (if not ever) and lets you clean them up. - Brandon LeBlanc from twhirl
