Indeed ! that's was very nice! Have you done anything special about this Bret? (Like twitter's folks)

very nice. anyone could guess Friendfeed would make it.

We did move a few things around, but nothing temporary - the event inspired us to optimize a few things we had been meaning to optimize anyway.

Happy Birthday Mike and Jeremy! Hey Jeremy, I think we emailed each other once... your logo looks familiar. Ah, yes... you're in my gmail. Your wife did the art for Medieval Fantasy Festival in March. Small world!

Joe Biden and Michelle Obama in the back set - very funny. Go, go, go, America. :)
- jan geronimo
I don't think Clinton is in the front seat with Obama. More like he's got her tied up in the trunk. But this is cute.

I saw this done with Arsenal players a little over a year ago. Exact same scene, just different heads (Wenger, Fabregas, Adebayor and RvP, IIRC).

Glad you peeps liked this tip. It's certainly changed the way I use my iPhone now. Necessity is definitely the mother of invention. ;-)

I've been using this for a few days now and it's working quite well. Sometimes, the email addresses appear a beat funky to the recipients, but so far everybody's been getting their emails. How's it been for you?
- Carlos Granier-Phelps
I haven't tried the Groups app, though it's been mentioned a few times. I'll check it out now to see exactly how they deal with this issue. One thing, though, my solution is free ;-)
- Carlos Granier-Phelps
Checked out Groups and it can't do photos yet. The Camera application allows you to email up to 3 photos per message - however you can't interface the Camera app with the Groups app. There's another app called MultiPhoto that allows you to send multiple photos but not to multiple recipients.
- Carlos Granier-Phelps
UPDATED: Now works with most email services and eliminates the Invalid Address dialog box.

My dear readers (although Reader uses the Twitter-marketed term followers, it seems a bit too religious to me) please Like, Star and Share this item with you friends, as this article may be an actual example how Google Reader can be the best social sharing tool ever. It would be great to see, how many times it can be shared by people of the Google Read...
- Svartling
Are you commenting though? That's what I'm looking for! The conversation layer is similar to FriendFeed, but different enough to keep people involved. The little comment icon has become quite the addiction to many there it seems.

"Lawrence O'Donnell filled in for Chris Matthews on Hardball Wednesday, and somehow managed to avoid savaging clueless town hall protester, Katy Abram. Abram went on a moronic tirade at Senator Arlen Specter's town hall meeting on Tuesday, telling him she was afraid that America was turning into Russia and that he had awakened a sleeping giant. This wasn't like shooting fish in a barrel, it was like shooting the broad side of a barn with a bazooka -- at point blank range. O'Donnell toys with Abram, and you can tell he just wants to cut loose. Granted, Abram isn't a professional pundit, but when questioned it became clear that she is the poster child for the entire undereducated, under-informed mob that make up the right wing town hall protesters."

Holy mackerel! I won't call her stupid - because she didn't entirely strike me as such. But she is *GROSSLY* mis/uninformed. I will also say that there are certain things she said with which I can identify - from my positions about ten years ago - and she & I are only a couple of years apart in age...which I don't know if is more scary or sad. I wouldn't want to be subjected to hardball...

I didn't find it to be so horrible. I felt bad for her, although he was a good sport about it. She was super duper nervous, and I would be. At the town hall meeting I'm sure she was goaded on by the atmosphere. And she was uninformed about somethings (important things like how much her family makes etc.), but ultimately that doesn't matter. The crux of her argument is that Obama is not...

O'Donnell was sympathetic to her nervousness and was gracious (imho) about areas where she was less informed than she maybe should be. :)
- Prosey BUTTONS!
It's so frustrating that people who don't bother to take the time to do anything but absorb the lies they're spoon-fed by Fox News and Rush Limbaugh are actually in a position to affect the outcome of such an important debate.
- Kevin (aka ThreadKilla)
Indeed, Kevin - my initial thought as I listened to the exchange was that there should have been a tag-line in there: "This message brought to you courtesy of the American education system." --*sigh*
- Prosey BUTTONS!
I get the sense that whatever it was that she said at the town hall was written or scripted by someone else. I don't understand how she could be so articulate, for lack of a better word there, and then such a dunce in this interview with O'Donnell. Doesn't seem to add up for me.
- Derrick
Derrick - that's entirely possible. It's quite possible that she herself may have written what she believed was an intelligent and heartfelt speech/diatribe...and under the pressure of the camera caved to nerves. Akin to armchair Jeopardy experts who, when face-to-face with Alex Trebec fold under pressure. No, I sense she's passionate about what she perceives to be "American" without...

"there are things the founding fathers wouldn't want to be around" Aside from medicare, that's the military out!
- alphaxion
Derrick/Rene - she didn't necessarily need to be scripted. If you spend enough time hearing the same soundbites over and over again, you'll internalize them just as if you'd been formally media-trained.
- Kevin (aka ThreadKilla)
alphaxion, y'know, come to think of it, I have NEVER heard a 'strict constructionist' or 'originalist' propose to get rid of America's standing military.
- Andrew C (✓)
Let me remind everyone that a measure called proposition 8 which denied same-sex marriage privileges to gay couples passed. In California, of all places! The moral of the story being: Not only do people like her influence the debate, but in many cases they actually *decide* the issue. I don't like idiots making decisions any more than you do, but who's really the idiot if we supposedly smart people can't figure out a way to stop it?
- Mr. Gunn
the comments on that article make me cry... So many denouncing strawman arguments while trying to refute with their own strawmen.
- alphaxion
I watched it live and it was very uncomfortable, you could tell he felt sorry for her, and she was just trying not to drown.
- Kim Landwehr
Yep, Kim, it was pretty awkward. Some are saying that O'Donnell was toying with her - and he probably was, but I had the distinct impression he was sympathetic (or at least pitying) to her lack of experience and knowledge.
- Prosey BUTTONS!
The sad thing about this is that there 10s of millions of Americans with similar attitude and beliefs. How did USA get be such a powerful, innovative, dynamic nation with so many stupid, ignorant people? Or is this just the throes of spiraling down of a once great nation?
- Brian Sullivan
Brian - it's quite likely a combination of many factors - not the least of which is the manner in which we're taught history. I can't speak for anyone else, but looking back at my lessons in Social Studies - US & world history was quite lacking in substance and was, from my perspective, little more than jingoistic propaganda. *shrug* Nor were any of us taught critical thinking. I may...

Dearest FriendFeed team, any chance you guys can import the first image or video from my Google Reader shares (or detect the MediaRSS if it's available)? I like having images in my shares where available.
Thanks Lucio - I may try that. I wish FriendFeed did that natively though. Those don't really give credit back to Google Reader.
- Jesse Stay
Every once in a while you'll see a Google Reader entry with media (http://friendfeed.com/dickys...) for example. I believe Google Reader *does* pass on Media RSS and/or enclosures in certain scenarios.
- Benjamin Golub
Benjamin, hmmm...interesting. I use MediaRSS on my blog (StayNAlive.com) and my Google Reader shares of it don't show images I don't think. (looking again...)
- Jesse Stay
Matthew it's still there though, and I've found since they removed those I now just divert my eyes to the text that shows where it came from. The new design makes it more clean and "feed-like".
- Jesse Stay
Matthew, I think that's fine. As long as I'm still able to see where it came from it doesn't matter to me.
- Jesse Stay
The funny thing is he still tries to hold it, I wonder when he understood he had to leave it and protect himself from the impact of the fall.

The launch of a service like Google Voice is overdue. There's great open source convergent technology to control phone calls for some time, but no one serious has put a great service out there for free. I just wonder when Google Voice will be available in Brazil.
- arnaldostream
I'm also hoping that Google Voice will come to Mexico anytime soon, but I totally understand that phone companies will be against it. I agree with you that is long overdue.
- Diego Espinoza V.
Telcos already have some issues to deal with, a service like Google Voice is just another (big or not). They'll most likely make deals with these phone service providers, another race, between telcos, to see which one gets more traffic.
- arnaldostream
Clark: If I had a Google Voice number, I'd still keep my texting plan, because like you said, maybe some companies will start to complain about GV.
- Diego Espinoza V.
The telcos are probably partnering with Google, they still have to route the traffic anyway.
- arnaldostream
But how do you feel having your voice going through Google as well, shortly they will send you ads based on the content of your call.
- Roni Segoly
Great run through of the basics around Google Voice. I use it primarily as a disposable number for telemarketers et. al.
- sean808080
I hope it will become available in the EU soon.

Roni Segoly: That's a good point, did you read the usage policy and the legal stuff yet?

Mona, I know isn't it priceless? I originally saw that one first and then saw the sequence which somehow made the last one better. I think because I knew it wasn't really staged. I also love the third one where he is kind of hug/squishing the baby with the top of his body, butt in the air!
- Rachel Lea Fox
WANT!!! What a beautiful mastiff mix! Now I have doggie envy =(
- FFing Enigma
+1000 Mona - that last picture is AWESOME!! Frame it!! PURE WIN! :) BFF
- Susan Beebe
Isn't it a neapolitan mastiff? The dog I mean :-)
- Todd Hoff
Gabe, I think its an old slang term for digital photos. I can't imagine what else it would be. ;)
- Rachel Lea Fox
The film I know comes when you mix water with oil.
- Brent - Yes I am
Oh no Brent, the dog and baby are like two peas in a pod, not oil and water. It must be something else. (; - needed to wink the other eye and give the normal one a rest. doesn't look quite as right though.
- Rachel Lea Fox
very cute - obviously the person shooting the photos had seen this before or would have jumped in to grab the baby - mastiffs are gentle giants the ones i've known are confused when a child is afraid of them - that being said they were original breed to protect but seems its the look of them not the aggressive nature of them - my jrt once chased one down a trail so they can be funny that way (teagan is tough of course)
- mike "glemak" dunn
Yes, mastiffs were bred to protect children. They're extremely gentle with kids but will fiercely protect their pack.
- FFing Enigma
Chris, I agree, you would have to know the dog before allowing this. But you can so tell this dog loves that baby.
- Rachel Lea Fox
I had a co-worker who, when buying a new house, found that his current insurer wouldn't insure the new house, because he had a big dog and an infant. There might be a reason for that, or it might be the usual insurance company idiocy. At any rate, the last pic bowls me over.
- MiniMage
Really? My parents received a discount on their homeowners because they had a large breed dog, he was considered a security feature =)
- FFing Enigma
I also found that very odd BoringMage. Many of the large dogs I've met including St. Bernard's are the ones I am least afraid of. Where as smaller dogs including poodles bother me a lot. I have only ever been bitten by a poodle and snipped at by them too. I've been around a LOT of dogs too!
- Rachel Lea Fox
No small kids, Mage, but they got more hassle from the insurance company about the stupid pool than they did for the dog.
- FFing Enigma
I just love these pictures, and the last one is adorable. The dog obviously loves the baby!
- Bonnie Foster
I don't think my co-worker's insurance company had a problem with the dog alone. It was the combination of the dog and the small kid.
- MiniMage
My first, 100% original, 100% adorable discovery that i share with everyone around
