"Do you think people will eventually buy the iPod or iPhone with the primary function of being their gaming device?" - Nope.

I've always wanted to be, but never been, a "gamer on the go". I just can't lug around a PSP or DS in my pocket with my wallet and keys. To have a capable gaming and audio device (and phone) in one sleek package is too good to be true. There's proof that developer applications and submitted apps that are game related get fast tracked through the process. As a indie game developer & Mac user, it makes me sick that I didn't get something out for the iPhone (yet!) Last time I checked, 18 of the top 25 *paid* apps were games. I think that's why the new Touch got a speaker. There's no doubt to me that Apple is aggressive on gaming.

Our household has three portable gaming devices and they all belong to kids under the age of 12. They won't be replacing them with iPhones anytime soon. Each will probably get a DS sometime soon though.
