What do Wikipedia's readers care about? Is Britney Spears more popular than Brittany? Is Asia Carrera more popular than Asia? How many people looked at the article on Santa Claus in December? How many looked at the article on Ron Paul?

Augmented Reality Microsites: First Impressions - Advertising Lab: future of advertising and advertising technology - http://adverlab.blogspot.com/2009...
I looked at Eminem's Relapse UK microsite, GE's Plug Into The Smart Grid, Nissan's Good Decision, USPS's Virtual Box Simulator, and two Star Trek promos at Join Star Fleet Academy and Experience the Enterprise. All these require that you print out a piece of paper with an image (a trigger) and dangle it in front of your webcam for something to happen. I also tried Ray-Ban's Virtual Mirror (via Cory's earlier post; the AR thing is tucked into the un-deep-linkable Flash), which draws glasses straight over your face

As part of its effort to launch the new Prius iPhone app, which is available for free on iTunes, Saatchi & Saatchi L.A. conceived this stunt that allows people to draw on the Reuters billboard in Times Square. The event runs through today and the billboard can be viewed on a live webcam on the Reuters site. The app itself allows users to tour the new Prius, interact with the car's ads like the billboard and basically, have some fun, with a sketching feature and a multi-level game using the iPhone's accelerometer

The purse-portable Nintendo DS recently introduced a new fashion-based game called Style Savvy that even had Rachel Zoe's fingers moving at its launch party in LA. The game allows players to take on the role of a clothing boutique owner, managing everything from customer questions to budget and inventory. "Style Savvy inspires players to help customers express their style and creativity, all while managing a store, including budget and inventory," said Cammie Dunaway, Nintendo of America`s executive vice president of Sales & Marketing. "The game includes more than 10,000 clothing items, shoes and accessories, which invite endless creative possibilities." There are 16 in-game designer labels, and over 10,000 items in a variety of price ranges with which to stock your imaginary store. Just as in a real store, customers also have distinct personalities and must be treated individually in order to get them to come back. If you're not a people-person, this game is not for you.

Though luxury retailers have traditionally been slow to adapt to web-based sales and maketing tactics, a recent Bain & Co. report projects 20% growth in overall online sales of luxury goods in 2009. This compares with an 11% drop of overall global sales of high-end clothing – and indicates a need for Saks to adapt to changing consumer market demand

We already know that Volvo is furthering its involvement with the Twilight franchise, with its "What Drives Edward" website. But one other auto brand is also benefitting by vamping it up in the series.
