"off topic: aww Matt. I'm kind of disappointed you threw away that gorgeous dark WP theme. I pretty much use the same color scheme myself. Hope it comes back soon. (yup, i look at your site and it soothes my nerves. Go figure.)"

"Heh , tell me about it. I deal with a 10-odd group of reluctant ubuntu-(cur)sing web devs who are always whining about insignificant details; making up excuses about needing some software package from win32-land. I mean, I give them Eclipse (tm) with bells, whistles, source control and kitchen_sink, and they still WhInE about their favourite windows notepad. *shakes head* Well human nature aside, I find a bigoted stance disturbing. I mean, I still keep a stripped down windows install on a small primary partition.(skip the legal lecture) It comes in real handy for bios updates from Acer(win cmd line binaries only), firmware updates for PMPs with obscure/non-existent filesystem documentation (not iPods, I can flash them left and right on linux with dd+fdisk, because determined reversers have figured out the cylinder numbers) I'm saying there are more than a few niche use-cases where 'special' software specially written by hardware manufacturers are required. I don't mean drivers. I..."

"yeah, i don't know how i would've managed in GPRS-land without it. Very low amounts of speedy data tranfer. If you have a decent connection, give 'Psi' a try. Its a full spec jabber client that connects at IRC speeds. Simply blows my mind with its functionality and tons of behaviour custmization."

Not completely paid of course. But if there were extra features you could pay for, what would they be?

I guess they're finally waking up to the ground realities. I hope its Freemium. Just a restriction on posts(i.e writes) and unlimited reads I hope.

The most I can think of is a customisable theme. But that might get out of hand.

Is it likely that Twitter Pro version might allow users to make Twitter a lifestream? Like Jaiku? Import your various accounts to Twitter. ???

"I like the Ubuntu community for what it is today. I havent heard of (or rather, never felt the need to look for) easy to navigate RPM distro communities. Mailinglists dont count. Maybe i have a female type brain, but I get all anal traversing M.list threads. As for the distro binary availability, any 'worthwhile' project generally will have a earnest ubuntero who's built a bin for it. Fedora used to be in that position not so kong ago."

"Am i the only one who prefers pedal powered bicycles. (I know 'bicycle' is wayyy unsexier than calling it my lightweight All-Aluminium-alloy MTB) It has its perks, like zipping past chauffered Govt. VIPs on the NH47 cause of a 3 km long traffic snarl, like I did this evening. :D pedal FTW"

"oh goody! Now I don't feel so bad about blushing and feeling-good in general while watching this doll on screen. She's like a desi Cameron Diaz(from back when she did Something about Mary) And incidentally I watched the Telugu version(with subtitles) and had more fun. I need to check this out more. My brain seems to like reading Subtitles more than listening to it. Comic lover syndrome?"

"Thanks for the offer, but I just use it for a simple WP blog. Unless I can get Shell access, i'm not shifting hosting anytime soon. Maybe i'll get a slice from slichost. Thanks, anyway :)"

"I stumbled onto a link to one of my old favourites yesterday over an IM session ... Have you read 'maddox' of thebestpageintheuniverse.net fame? He's irreverent to the point of offense to some people. But still a riot."

"I decided against watching 'Jaane Tu' yesterday to avoid temporary brain damage, especially since I was going alone(yes, some things are bearable the other way) Judging from the plot synopses floating around, I suspect its just a rip-off of a Popular mallu movie called 'Niram' from around 8 years ago(ask around) I really liked Manorama 6 feet under. I had a hard time getting friends and relatives to appreciate this classic noir piece. Everyone just quits halfway thru saying the plot is too slow. WTF!! thats the beauty of it you briandead morons. This pisses me off(only slightly less than when I have to explain whats really going on; C'mon use your heads for once. sheesh) I will check out Dil Dosti etc, now that you mention it. The theatrical trailers actually appealed to me. But I'm quite wary of ANYBODY who tries to sell something to me. Paranoia. :p"

"So what does context-sensitiveness of personal slurs have to do with all those names you get called? From where I come from, thats pretty personal. Everyone's a Problem child at some point in life."

"You know better than me that its not just a matter of simply 'using' software. A million other variables in the supply chain likely figure in your predicament. No further comments. If you're pissed off, go bang your keyboard like i do."

"I've encountered this little piece of work before. Though I can't quite recall how i crunched it. I think I lost the problem when i migrated all my large external HDD backup-type partitions(NTFS) to EXT3 with journalling. XFS is something I'd seriously considered; did months of research and reading benchmarks. But, in the end, the potential for data disaster is too insane. EXT2 or EXT3 is still king of reliability + good performance, when measured in real-world systems."

"Gee whiz... Some people are just plain lucky in Linux land I guess. Or maybe I don't hold a grudge against anybody/any software for long. It just seems fishy that a silly document with no active content caused a Kernel Panic. Have you posted to the LKML? they could point you to the correct upstream if it isn't their fault. The thing about OSS, is everything gets fixed sooner or later. If nobody does it, it means its your turn. :p In this case, i suspect its just a case of Someone in the distribution chain not adhering to standards."

"I'm just being careful with my language. All publishers worth their 2 dollars include all the jazz in their Pdf publications. Its only the warez ebook/pdf scene who don't bother to be to implement the TOC and hyperlinks thingamajigs at publish-time."

"I'm not sure. I thought Yum was the apt-TOOLS equivalent for .rpm based distros. Apt offers options to dispose of orphaned packages. Aptitude does it intelligently. For me, this is the #1 endearing feature of the Debian-based distro pedigree - Rock-solid package management. I'm yet to lose my way. (been 9 months or so on a Gutsy laptop work(read as surf)station. ) :) Cheerio"
