At least you had a Hayes 300 Baud Smartmodem. We had to make do with a half-duplex No-name British 1200/75 baud one, and we didn't have anyone to sort out the wires for us the first very frustrating weekend!

Nedense bu video bana kurgu gibi geliyor. Cheater'ın duvarın üst kısmına doğru meyletmesi ve aşağı atılmak için pek bir dirençsiz olduğunu gözlüyorum.

There are days I just wanna stop & rest like that. Can you imagine if everyone did that when the urge hit them? hahaha.
- Bonita Garrabrant
My mother one time lost me in the house. Couldn't find me anywhere. Panicked. Found me sleeping on a bookshelf.
- Akiva Moskovitz
i used to sleep in cabinets, akiva, same thing, my mom would panic and then find me hidden in a drawer of an armoir or under the sink. strange
- Melissa Maskevich
Just couldn't play another second.... Aw.
- Kay Designer
never wake a sleeping child, unless it is an emergency, or you are running late for school.
- Nathan Eckenrode
Anna - if you don't mind, how did you get this Flickr set to show up here on FriendFeed, with the photos like this? Very beautiful set, by the way.
- Rick Cogley
[Spin-off from Akiva's shrimp thread]. Brian Norwood and I have had this conversation a few times before and I hope I have been civil to him, if not to his conclusions. My mother - the dearest person to my heart in this world - is a passionate believer in Jesus Christ as Messiah and ...
..only Son, and of One God (that of Abraham) and his omniscience, omnipotence, and benevolence. I say to you what I say to her: I do not dispute your experience / evidence. It is all any of us have. I merely have arrived at different hypotheses (don't want to call them conclusions, although it was tempting at first) to account for that evidence / experience.
- Anthony Citrano
Also, in many cases where there is a perceived difference in opinion/conclusions, it really turns out just to be an etymologic difference. For example, I see no fundamental difference between the New Testament concept of the Holy Spirit (original Greek: ‘pneuma hagion’) and a Buddhist's ‘brahman’ (or the Daoist's ki.) Yet most Buddhists will tell you there is not a God (as in a separate, conscious person/thing-God)
- Anthony Citrano
Well put, Anthony. However, I have never met a Buddhist who has said that there is no G-d. In fact, most shrug at the idea as irrelevant to their practice. Or, the less conservative ones suggest that G-d is within us and that through quiet meditation, we make connections with Him and so forth. Or, ask a Tibetan Buddhist, and they will tell you there are many, many gods. Besides, isn't 'brahman' a concept borrowed from Hinduism?
- Akiva Moskovitz
@Akiva, yes, of course Brahman is borrowed from Hinduism - but it means cosmic breath or cosmic soul, etc... Conversely, I don't think I've met a Buddhist who did believe in God, by the definition I'm using here. (By this I meant an external God-being / entity / God-person; I'll edit it a little.)
- Anthony Citrano
Anthony, I didn't mean to suggest that by not saying that G-d doesn't exist Buddhists thus believe in G-d. In my experience, the existence of G-d in a creator/controller sense is irrelevant to Buddhist practice but it isn't contrary to Buddhism or even Buddhist thought. In fact, there is a large and growing movement of Jewish Buddhist (of which I am one, being a Renzai Zen Buddhist as well as practicing Jew). It's startling how complimentary the two practices are to each other.
- Akiva Moskovitz
Why do you spell it g-d and not god, Akiva?
- Alex Scoble
Okay, that's really funny. I meant that putting it as 'G-d' is a Jewish tradition showing respect to G-d. The name of G-d is never written out fully except in religious texts. Sorry about that. Still chuckling.
- Akiva Moskovitz
And now I know...and knowing is half the battle. :)
- Alex Scoble
I also forgot an all important 'to' up there. It should have read: 'A Jewish tradition to show respect'.
- Akiva Moskovitz
Proper planning is half the battle...being prepared is half the battle...Lots of things are half the battle, Akiva. :) When you figure out something that is all the battle, let me know.
- Alex Scoble
I wish it were easier to engage in discussion of the nuances and subtleties of religious and spiritual experiences and beliefs and their interpretations without getting boxed into categories or groups. I have many detailed thoughts about the nature of life and the universe but would prefer not to affiliate myself with any organized or recognizable group. This is partially because I...

Have you ever met a person who doesn't like dolphins? If you do- run!
- michael sean wright
I was lucky enough to swim with dolphins off Hurghada, Egypt in the Red Sea. For budget travelers - 10 Euro for a catered 8-hr boat ride to snorkeling/diving sites. It's super-cheap there (Egyptians only make $25/month...), so support your fellow humans & send them more money. :-)
- Mitchell Tsai
Has anyone seen the Penn & Teller episode about dolphins? Fucking HILARIOUS!!
- Corie
Corie: Not yet... Is it on the web anywhere?
- Mitchell Tsai
Wow, thanks for the tip Mitchell! It's one of my dreams to swim with dolphins one of the days, so I'll take note of that.
- Vincent X
Vincent X: Belize (Central America) is also a cheap place with incredible snorkeling. The sharks and rays were swimming between our legs (so used to tourists). Not sure if there are dolphins in Belize.
- Mitchell Tsai
Yikes. I think I'll pass on the shark-between-the-legs swim though... Wouldn't want one of them to suddenly feel like having a snack. :)
- Vincent X
whats really cool is 15 or 20 of them riding a ships bow wave at 20+ knots. Talk about a escort
- Moved to Facebook
Ahhhhhhahaaha!! Here's another clip. "I'll lead you through an internal experience to call forth your inner dolphin and then we'll bring our inner dolphin out so that we're completely immersed in our dolphin aspect ... that is us." http://ca.youtube.com/watch...
- Corie
Dolphins are the cutest creatures! And such smart animals too! I had the immensely wonderful chance to scuba dive with dolphins in the Red Sea and I loved EVERY BIT of the experience. That is one thing I will do again. and again.
- Parth Awasthi
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!! I just looked again...Gwen Stefani and JLo
- Anna Haro
Hey Anna!! *hug* Seriously... It paled everything else in comparison... I couldn't 'like' anything else on my 'best of the day' tab. :)

I wish i could work some place that fostered creativity...
- Internet's Tad
i don't understand why more companies aren't creative in office space. google, pixar, etc. all the top companies know that old 50's cubes are out and new "open" "inviting" areas are in.
- Chris Harris
But but but, that's what FF is for! ;)
- Mona Nomura
.....why are there like 8 jars of peanut butter and like... ONE jar of jelly? BIZARRE
- Mona Nomura
Mona: Perhaps there are more varieties of Peanut Butter (Creamy, Chunky, Organic, etc), but everyone only likes Strawberry jelly.
- Justin Korn
JK: but only one jar? I would fight people to get to it everyday... Dude, this is in Emeryville. We should SO go check it out
- Mona Nomura
It wouldn't be that hard for Facebook. They're tiny compared to Google's massive campus. They don't even need a cafeteria. They could just hook up a deal with the restaurant that's next to them on the bottom floor or any of the other eateries around them.
- Louie
Mona: I'd be totally down to go check it out!
- Justin Korn
@Louis: but it's the THOUGHT that counts dude. @JK: I wonder if there're any FFers who work at Pixar... hmmmmmm
- Mona Nomura
i've seen this. pretty cool stuff. it actually makes one want to work productively
- Cee Bee
Mona: I bet there is, but if not, someone out there (Robert Scoble, Louis Gray, etc.) has got to know someone...
- Justin Korn
great pics. But that facility looks much more blah than I imagined Pixar to be

from twhirl
Got a buddy who works there and went on a tour... amazing place. They even have family oriented events in their quad area. Their movie theater gets special advance screenings of all the major blockbusters. Sadly, I'm still waiting for my invite... ;)
- Jericho
I worked next to the Pixar compound for 3 years. They have a lunch room, yet they kicked out one lunch spot and are still trying to get Semifreddi's to move. I like the movies, but it would have been nice (given their lunch room and roving cake cart) that they'd preserve lunch spots for the rest of us.
- AJ Kohn
apparently, i loved hiding in cabinets (i also have many pictures of me laying in large drawers). my mom says that once she couldnt find me and was freaking out, and there i was fast asleep is some piece of furniture. i was basically a kitten!
- Melissa Maskevich
now saved too, I'll look at you for future inspiration ;p some kind of a motivation scheme, popping out each 2 or 3 min. from random angles. "Do this, remember when you delayed it? Come on, regard this as important and take control over the facts now, John."
- ElijahBailey-Zu of FF <0,
Bonus points for this friendfeed meme. a like --> a flickr favorite --> a browse of a flickr stream --> familiar locales --> familiar faces -->Tsenga and I know some of the same people! Poketo and FF bringing people together.
- Jason Toney
and this is why there are people out there in the wold scared of clowns. hell, looking at this photo, i think i'm developing a phobia right this second.
- ♥patricia♥
Awww! I was scared of clowns as a kid, tho.
- Mattie Kenny
Surely, you did not see Poltergeist before this moment.
- Josh Haley
No, but several years later after I had watched Poltergeist he ended up on the front lawn, and I had long stopped sleeping with him. But before then, nah. It was Ronald McDonald! Every kid loves McDonalds. :D
- Haggis (Sean Loyless)
LOL @Haggis. I had a McDonald's dress my mom had made for me. I loved that dress, would scream every morning to wear that dress (uh-oh, now I'm realizing my little girl is like me!), but I wouldn't eat McDonald's. I'd rather starve than eat there.
