nice OS stats overview on Ars Technica http://arstechnica.com/microso... Unsurprisingly, Windows 7 is a winner.
kind of of a weird macheist.com deal, they are giving everything away for free? How does this benefit developers… at all?
you probably can't upgrade to a new version w/o actually paying. Also, they have companion iPhone apps. - Kari Silvennoinen
sure, but I see no reason to ever upgrade Writeroom, so that's lost income right there. As for the other apps, not very interested anyway. - Vincent van Wylick
Dear @Apple: next to having access to Applescripts in the menubar, I'd also like access to your cool services. Thank you!
@ksilvennoinen if there's no diversity of opinion, no crises, there usually isn't much growth. That's pretty similar to groupthink yeah
song of the day: "Sleep Walker" by Eclipse http://www.youtube.com/watch... Kind of a yearning, seeking, wanting jazz song.

@ksilvennoinen it's interesting. If you can only like & not dislike, & you easily ban/block, i.e. censor dissent, what's the soc/psy-effect?
Gladwell for dummies http://www.thenation.com/doc... I know y'all were waiting for it.
@ksilvennoinen oh yeah, I totally don't think it would work in the Facebook environment. As anonymous coward in Digg, sure.
@lovkraft there's like 12 different kinds of innovation starting with the (lame) "invented a new chewing gum" to the scary kind.
my 1st mobile internet connection ever… on my laptop. Thanks Vodaphone! Nice feeling to no longer be bound by cables, houses, & offices #fb

"Actually, I was talking about the hardware+software combination, which varies from phone to phone. I don't know about the "everybody agrees that it's better than the iPhone" part either, but I do agree that from what I've seen it rocks." - Vincent van Wylick
DJ Kicks (hosted by the likes of Chromeo & Nicolette (from Massive Attack)): a compilation which somehow appeals to 80s nostalgics?

@embee in a world with too many signals, people use the most obvious signal of all: how many people are in your network. Sad, but true.
howto trick your brain into liking a song: play it 1-2x, take a month break, play it again. Nostalgia effect kicks in. Works (only4OKsongs)
@embee mostly facilitated by people tracking mentions of socmed and auto-following you in twitter, thus upping your socmed status.
Kind of strange that LinkedIn and other socnet sites don't have a 'mark as spam' setting.
Wouldn't that break the illusion of relevance and attention? Isn't the basic tenet of socnets that there's no spam because it's all just your friends? =) - Kari Silvennoinen
you would think so, except apparently non-friends can send you messages through being a member in the same LinkedIn group. - Vincent van Wylick
Yep, I hate that stuff, too. The gnitekram tenretni people really know how to make internet smell like used socks. - Kari Silvennoinen
