@MatthiasSchwenk @ksilvennoinen Not as good as Tatort with the logo that hasn't changed since 1862. Love it! http://images.google.nl/images...
Got a 2ndhand book in Brussels: Defying Gravity - (the story of) the making of (Apple's) Newton. Downside to high-speed trains: NoTime2Read!

@OurielOhayon 25 min??? I think the obvious hint is to get it replaced for the ca. 130$ that it costs.
@ksilvennoinen totally agreed!
My favourite behavioral data, though, would be poker data. Too bad it's almost impossible to get. I'd almost be willing to kill to get some. - Kari Silvennoinen
Shouldn't be hard at all with so many games being recorded and shown publicly. Just hire an intern to go through all the footage and get rich writing the book! - Vincent van Wylick
The interesting stuff is not public. - Kari Silvennoinen

Last.fm is ghost posting on my twitter.
strange that Google Chrome doesn't integrate (at all???) with Google Reader. #google #chrome #googlereader

@lovkraft I thought mouse tracking has been possible since… well, CH?
Hotel room in Lux. hitting all my sweet spots: it's small but big bed, it's cheap, & it's got free wifi (and breakfast).

"except for the fact that we use Google Maps/Earth as a supplement to real life, while in Snow Crash it was a substitute." - Vincent van Wylick
Tech IT Easy : The Retro Problem - http://www.techiteasy.org/2009...
"yeah, but that sounds more like wysiwyg programming, which I guess is what we should be moving towards or are probably (not an expert) already there in some cases. The retro idea as proposed by Sivers was more about forcing people to solve problems in order to get things done. It sounds like these problems still exist, it's rare that I deal with non-Macware for instance and don't have problems like my latest corrupted external harddrive, for instance. The Mac is definitely a representation of what the future, of hardware at least, should look like… whether that's for the worse or the better (my opinion is known)." - Vincent van Wylick

"i.e. mobile GPS and augmented reality in mobile phones. I see a very different (parallel) future ahead of us than envisioned in Snow Crash, although I wasn't kidding about *watching this space.*" - Vincent van Wylick

"Making an awful big jump from Snow Crash to Google Maps, I think… but maybe you're right and eventually we never have to visit anywhere again and can still experience it. *watch this space* as I'm starting a company focussed on just that. :)" - Vincent van Wylick

@migliari thanks, but as far as I could find, I don't think s.m.a.r.t. monitoring is supported for external USB drives.
@ksilvennoinen I think it was a physical one. Windows gave me the error "drive corrupted & unreadable" & Disk Utility froze. Only after …
@ksilvennoinen I scanned the Drive with Data Rescue II, did it mount, automatically.
hmm, my new 1.5TB drive from WD refused 2 load after 3 days due 2 corruption. After running Data Rescue it works again. Sign of BIG problem?
@ksilvennoinen thanks for the listing. I can see I'm in good company :-p
