"It always surprises me to read commentaries like the ones this article is receiving. People really have to remember that the US cellular phone market is small compared to other countries. Given that we currently live in a Global economy I wish tech sites like Mashable, Engadget, etc. are more Global focus on their opinions. GSM is the most popular mobile technology around the world, the fact that United States only have 2 to choose from is unfortunate. For example in Hong Kong, a "city" with a population of over 6.5 million, we have 7 mobile carriers to choose from and all of them supports GSM. It has been over 8 years since the mobile phone users in Hong Kong had the option to choose "fully carrier unlocked" mobile phones or sign a contract with one of the carriers and choose a subsidized version of the same handset. The choice should fall on the end-users and not the carriers. If this rumor of a Google Android phone is true, I praise Google for helping to finally change the US..."
