Chicory and coffee is very popular in India in fact, when you buy coffee powder here, they always ask you if you want to mix chicory, love the flavour.. - Vinodh
Wow, this is such a rich knowledge base for any entrepreneur in any part of the world. i would urge you to read it if you run your own company. - Vinodh
I connected with what Seth says here. Many a times, we get into nitty gritties that we forget the bigger picture.
What value does this give ? Why would your users use this ? etc - Vinodh
Definitely something that all of us need to think about especially considering the economic situation. Interestingly, I think India is getting into this bandwagon too, which higher disposable incomes and increasing lust (gadget or otherwise)! - Vinodh
Spot on. And it holds true for items well under the $2800 price point too. Consider also that last year's model is still pretty darn nice... Want? Hell yeah. Need and can justify? Erm... - Rob Kramer
And the Android phone comes out today....ooooh shiny. - VibeMetrix

Slobber, Slobber, Slobber...er nice camera! I like your transition from Slobber --> Save, Save, Save ...nice finish! Excellent point, we all need to re-assess our gadget needs for sure, especially avoid any more debt for goodness sake! - Susan Beebe
A great deal of it comes down to budgeting. I budget for a new laptop every two years and a new desktop every two years (alternating) for example. A new SLR is on a five year budget, and mobile phones are every two years. Shiny new things (Chumby's, Slingbox's, etc) come out of another fund that ends up at about $600 a year ($50 a month). It's a lot easier to budget with dollars than it is 'number of shiny things'. - Andrew Leyden
Interesting point Niru. Until I read this post I didn't realize that double clicking on the left top closes a window :)
However one point with respect to the Live messenger toolbar on the left. I have single clicked on the icon on the left top corner multiple times as it looks similar to the icon on Microsoft office which brings a drop down menu. Instead of superimposing the menu on this window, I would have liked to see a single menu drop down from the icon on the left.
What do you think ? - Vinodh
Ha, so that's what I read about FF command line... I like it, but he... I like command lines... - Egon Willighagen
@brandon: yes - activites (i said smart tags before - oops). but i'm not sure they have the same 'angle.' seems like (since i've not tried Ubiquity) is user interface and that activities is a programming interface. - MikeAmundsen
this is yubnub done right. heck someone can make a simple bridge to yubnub :). What will be "dangerous" about this Ubiquity is its viralness. People will immediately shares commands. Hopefully not worm and viruses. - Akhmad Fathonih
Just installed Ubiquity and love it. I've not used IE for years and don't plan to. - Brett Nordquist
I installed it last night and I just love it, go on Moz crew!!! - darussol
IE8 makes all the websites I visit look like complete crap. If they're asking developers to use tags in their HTML so that IE8 will think it's IE7, that can't be a good sign. - Aaron Myers
I've been using YubNub and Slickrun for many months -- I'm not sure yet that Mozilla Ubiquity is a significant step forward. - Sean McBride
What Mozilla's Ubiquity ? Any link to share? - Arjun
UbiQ blows my mind away. Have been playing around with it all day. Just hoping that they imprve usability in the coming versions.
Tweeting from UbiQ is a breeze, I'm guessing this is going to increase load on Twitter APIs like crazy! - Vinodh
I installed Ubiquity late last night, and yes, it does have the WOW factor for me as well. I want to see how easy it is to create commands, after viewing the vid. Nice work. - Henry Burger

It sounds great for power users. I was also imagining a sidebar type app that would be suggesting things to do with stuff. Select an address and it would pop up a map and give you the option to email it. This way no need for new users to know text commands or have to think what might be the word to use. - John Cooper
Sidebar is a great idea...also "chaining" commands. What if i want to tinyurl something (or two) and insert into a twit (or email..). Also if you don't use gmail (gasp), launching the OS native URL handlers like mailto:. - Richard Goodwin
Ubiquity looks cool, but is very similar to what can be done with Quicksilver on Mac. - Martin Añazco
if you like ubiquity you'll be sure to love http://www.humanized.com/enso that's Aza Raskin's work before he joined mozilla, so you can see where the inspiration comes from :) - Chris Jones
watching the video for ubiquity @ mozilla labs now .... whoa - JohnBfromMemphis
I am yet to try out Ubiquity yet but your WOW has convinced me to check it out later ha! - Joe Dawson
Where do these smart people come from. Very cool. - Kenley Neufeld
this changes the way I can work... but what motivates me to change this way. - Stewart Rogers
Anybody found a FF Ubiquity command to subscribe to yet? - Grey Drane
help me, the editor is making me want to learn code. ARRRRRRGH! - (that)Kenny
It's addictive, much like 'Launchy'. - Vinay | विनय
Yeah I love ubiquity too! Wonder what 1.0 will be like! :D - JegerPhil - Phil
If you're running Ubiquity on Linux, I would advise NOT setting the hotkey to SHIFT+SPACE. Esp. if you're fond of capitalisation... - wyclif
@Martin Añazco ya, it reminds me of Quicksilver and the command-line, too. I really love it!!!! It creates an awesome workflow that leads to inspired power browsing. - barce
Ubiquity is frakking awesome. Its like having Quicksilver inside your browser. - CubFan
Thanks to your blog post about Ubiquity I began using it and can see how it will enhance my web experience - Joshua Oehler
“I don't care if you fake follow me. I don't define myself by who follows me, but I define myself by who +I+ follow! I follow smart people who teach me things and put interesting stuff in my view. If you stop, or prove to be a jerk or a troll, then I'll just unsubscribe.”
All I can say to that is, you better enjoy a lot of good German brews while you're there. It's non-sequitor, and that is what you should expect from me. - Pete Delucchi
Wait. Isn't Robert Scoble just Alex Scoble's older brother? - Akiva Moskovitz
Pete, the correct spelling is "Mississippi." And Robert, "The Metro" and "Take My Breath Away" are really good songs. And I think you'd agree that the content that you obtain from your subscribees is more important than your subscribee count. It's a content game, not a numbers game. - Ontario Emperor
via fftogo
Akiva: yup, Alex is my younger brother. You can't really blame him for how he is. I used to beat him up. Of course, he gave me my issues with authority. He told mom. :-) - Robert Scoble
Pete: Rocky already found a bar that has hundreds of beers. I have a feeling we'll be seen there once or twice between now and Sunday. - Robert Scoble
Robert, he seems to be doing all right so far! - Akiva Moskovitz
oops Robert, looks like you forgot to add me then. Ok, I'm kidding. But at least I amused myself. - Brian Norwood
Great example of being quality-centered instead of market-centered... do what you love and a market will find you... - Justin Long
@Akiva, yeah, robert scoble uses his last name to get by on alex's gig. - Morgan Warstler
Akiva- You are the man...that's the funniest stuff I've seen since the whole Korn of the Blog thing. - Alex "Pew Pew Pew" Scoble
@Pete - I just want you to know that your non sequitur above ended up inspiring dozens of non sequiturs on FriendFeed this evening. I hope you're Melvin about that. - Ontario Emperor
via fftogo
That's one of the many things I like about FriendFeed: how many people follow you isn't displayed at the top level. I hope that doesn't change. I think a lot of people on Twitter (and other social networks) only obsess over their followers/friends just because everyone else can see it. I also think that's why a lot of people don't like FriendFeed... you've got to give substance to get substance. - Paul Reynolds
@Ontario I've stopped shaking my fist, just so you know. - Pete Delucchi
Agreed - I don't think I'll ever "fake follow". I'd rather just unsubscribe - those I follow I try to pay attention to. - Jesse Stay
How does one 'fake follow' a person? Is it hard? Is it fun? Can I do it? - Michael Moran
I agree with you Robert as I don't see any valid reason for me as an individual to fake follow anyone! - Joe Dawson
Yeah @robert, how or whats "fake follow" ? - Arjun
You guys better fake follow me or else I will say bad things about you all over the internets. And you don't want that. :p - Matt Musgrave
Agree on this, though I think from a feature perspective it's a smart one! - Vinodh
