Using the data collection website Daytum I recorded time (in minutes) and cost (in £ GBP) of all my interactions as a consumer. This included the odd five minutes for lunch every few days at my favourite salad stall on Goodge Street, to spending 45 minutes in Preston train station waiting for a connection. Yep, that's 45 minutes of my life I'll never get back. The data's not perfect of course (eg. it's not automated based on GPS), and I rounded up/down as appropriate so that I didn't completely lose my sanity. But it provides a fascinating insight into how I live my life as a consumer, and which brands steal my attention. What's more, with only a limited time of existence on this planet, it shows me whether I'm spending my time and money wisely as a consumer. And having invoiced the companies that claim my attention, I'll soon find out how much they respect the time I spend with their brand.

I think this is more of a "send the friendfeed traffic to facebook" than any kind of technical leverage. My biggest concern here: in order to exchange dialogue with people on facebook I need to be friends with them vs. being able to do it on friendfeed without having to friend them up. This is very good for FriendFeed as long as Facebook doesn't corrupt them. I would have preferred to see Google buy FF but I know with their focus on Wave I don't think it would have been a good fit. Actually, this could be death for Twitter when you think about it. The people I know who are in FB are not likely to add TWO more nets to their lifestream. FriendFeed makes more sense for them. Maybe Twitter just stays as the dumb pipe it's become for many of us here.

Most likely scenario is Facebook assimilates the FriendFeed guys, has them work on improving Facebook newsfeed/realtime/status, and lets FriendFeed die a slow unmaintained death.

But I hate their bookmarklet, the weird delays when I post anything, the comment system, and I hate the Photo gallery tech. I love the FriendFeed community, but would love bringing the FriendFeed technology over to Facebook even more. If only Facebook could buy Flickr next...

Same things happens with cereal, since I can never get the milk to cereal ratio correct. First bowl: too much milk, not enough cereal. Add more cereal, and I'm on my second bowl. Mona - well, first Dominos just used extra dough for breadsticks. And then came cheesy bread & cheese in the pizza rim, and then they found a secondary use for sauce too, at which point they basically had secondary uses for all the major pizza ingredients. Andrew? I think we are talking about two different things... i.e. cheese and chip ratio for nachos, hummus and bread/pita chips, milk and cereal, hot dogs and buns. Dominos extra dough is creative uses for waste prevention (which Dominos didn't pioneer since pizzerias use left over dough for garlic knots, breadsticks, and such)

Well I'm testing FF Comments plugin for my site and it works a treat as comments are synced, if the comments from each service where ordered by time/date instead of per service I'd be very interested. To capture all the comments from various points around the Internet seems a really good idea.

Well I don't care about Digg anymore. That's for sure. I don't know if people really want all comments to be seen everywhere. Context is important too. For example: Friendfeed comments are often much shorter (and possibly less thoughtful?) than blog comments. At least, I really blast of comments on FF. It's the speed of the medium.
