"I use plenty of those elements for streaming, actually. For example, [bumpers for stepping away during longer live streams](http://i.imgur.com/4UKIPjN...). That's why I'm not that excited about all the Twitch integration with consoles (well that and I stream on YouTube, not twitch), I can't release the same level of production quality I can using a PC setup."

"People choose to watch an LP of games like The Last of Us based on a commentator they like. They don't want to see an LP of it, they want to see _________ do an LP of it."

"Broadcasting directly from the PS4 won't afford you anywhere near the same control as from a PC. Losing bumpers, scene control, recording, and more would be tough."

"You don't have the right to monetize ANY gameplay content without permission. That is the only acceptable truth. People will downvote and claim "fair use" but that is the reality. Getting away with it doesn't make it fair use."

"Make sure you yell into the mic, have a facecam with side-swept hipster hair, maybe some eye-liner, laugh historically about any nudity or sexual innuendo in the games you play, don't forget to yell into the mic. Yell into the mic. Yell."

"Negotiating contracts is much less effective after you've *already signed it*. Regarding support: Are you using the zendesk ticket system? I have never had an issue with responses. They have several people that man the help desk system to answer questions."

"Note: A company being unwilling to allow you to **breach the contract and default on the commitment** that **you signed** doesn't mean bad customer service."

"I figured I would chime in here. In full disclosure, I am partnered with Machinima and have an outside business relationship with them but really this applies to any partnership. A lot of bad partnership reviews come from people that regret signing terrible first-try contracts. This is bad practice in any and all business, not just youtube gameplay video world. A well understood, well negotiated contract with any network partner will always be better than a "first-try" contract that's given to someone when they're emailing the network asking for a partnership. There's absolutely no reason you should sign a contract you don't like. The fact that a company gives you an initial contract that people decided to sign without consulting a lawyer, a friend, a mom, whatever, does not make said company bad people or out to get anyone. Corporations (YouTube networks) are in the business of making money. If someone tells you that this or that network is "for the people", they probably don't have..."

"Unlike YouTube streaming, Twitch does not transencode for all its users. You should stream at a bitrate that you feel most of your audience can reliably receive."
