Etsiskelen sopivaa hostattua alustaa blogin pitämiseen. Eli ideana olisi ostaa järjestelmän ylläpitopalvelu kolmannelta osapuolelta (alle 100€ / vuosi), mutta sitoa se omaan domainiin. Wordpress.com ja Blogger näyttivät monipuolisimmilta ratkaisulta, tuleeko jotain muuta sopivaa mieleen?

Typepad.com on yksi. Wordpress.com ei sitten salli mainoksia, jos niitä olit ajatellut.

Sivutilani olen ostanut Scene Groupilta http://scenegroup.fi joskin pitää mainita että itse palvelimet sijaitsevat USA:n mantereella. Palvelu pelaa kuitenkin hyvin ja tekninen tuki on tavoitettavissa aika hyvin aamusta iltaan (ja palvelinkeskuksessa on 24/7 päivystys varaosineen jos sattuisi jotain hajoamaan). Aikalailla hyvin on toiminut ja ei voi ainakaan asiakaspalvelun tietämättömyydestä valittaa kun samat ihmiset niin ylläpitävät kuin tukevat palveluita.

Mutta tosiaankin… itse joudut päivittämään ja ylläpitämään blogisoftaasi jos tuonne laitat. Toinen vaihtoehto on tosiaankin hankkia palvelu esim. WordPress.com -palvelusta http://en.wordpress.com/product...

Oikeastaan WordPress.com -sivuston kaupallisten palveluiden etu on se, että siellä palvelua ylläpitävät softan kehittäjät ja palvelinarkkitehtuuri on tehty kestämään suuriakin palvelunestohyökkäyksiä. Lisäksi systeemi on hajautettu kolmen eri palvelinkeskuksen välille joten sivustojen saavutettavuus ja latautumisnopeus on keskimäärin parempi kuin monella muulla pienemmällä tarjoajalla....

Kiitokset vinkeistä, kokeiltiin sitten yhdellä blogilla hostausta wp.comista. Ilman mainoksia ja omalla tyylitiedostolla (n. 40e). Katsoo jatkokehityksen myöhemmin että jatkaako yksi kerrallaan vai lähteekö multiuser blogialustaan. Blogeja tulee olemaan tänä vuonna n. 10-20, joten pidemmän päälle voisi tulla helpommaksi vaikkapa WP Mu:lla.

Halvemmaksi saattaa tulla WP Mu:lla, mutta saa olla tarkkana tietoturvapäivitysten kanssa sitten, sillä ei kovin pitkää aikaa palvelu pysy pystyssä jos ei ole oikein suojattu.

Päivitystä tarjontaan: Squarespace näyttää myös hyvältä vaihtoehdolta. Import löytyy suurimpiin blogialustoihin, joten vanhankin sivuston siirtoa voi harkita. Hinnaltaan suhteellisen edullista, 8 dollarin blogista kuukaudessa 50 dollarin yhteisöön. Työkaluja löytyy ja ulkoasupohjiin on panostettu aivan toisella tapaa mitä esim. Wordpress.comissa. Muutama päivä sitten taisin kanssa vilkuilla Squarespacea, josta olen kyllä jo kauan sitten kuullut aikaisemminkin. Hyvältähän se näyttää, vaikkakin ehkä hieman turhan kallis omiin käyttötarkoituksiini.

We’ve previously covered some of the advanced searches that you can do in Spotify to quickly find your favorite music. Searching by genre, such as “genre:soul“, is very popular but a lot of people are unaware of what genres they can search for. To help you get more out of your searches we’ve put together a list of all the genres in Spotify. Some of the genres contain two words in which case you need to add quotation marks to the search for it to work properly. For example to find Appalachian Folk music you need to search for “genre:”Appalachian Folk”“. Have a look at this Google Doc to see all 944 genres listed. Not all of them may be available since we may not have all genres of music yet but you should be able to find the majority of them.
