The first three of those aren't even viable alternatives. Plurk, Identi.ca, and Jaiku? All three hopefully will take the same path as Pownce did. Friendfeed and Tumblr work, though.

I think it's pretty safe to say that Twitter isn't going anywhere, and people are going where the community is, and that's Twitter. The others are just floundering, regardless of any improvements they have.

Plurk: deadpool. Jaiku: depends on whether Google really does something with it. Identi.ca: the closest replacement among the bunch with the big plus of being open. Tumblr is a nice mini-blogging platform, but not at all good for conversations.
