From the page: "The official trailer of Portal: Prelude, the upcoming unofficial prequel to the game Portal. Its story revolves around the pre-GlaDOS epoch, even before she was plugged in. At this time, test subjects were monitored by real Aperture Science employees, whose work was tedious, lengthy and repetitive. This is why they decided to build a great artificial intelligence that could both replace them in these difficult tasks, and also take responsibility for many other tasks within the complex and compete with Black Mesa's superiority. All employees of the Aperture Science complex are now eagerly awaiting GlaDOS. Maybe even a little too eagerly, as the upcoming events will tell... This game is totally free and set to be released somewhere around the end of september 2008. It offers a bit more gameplay hours than the original Portal, with 8 chapters, 48 challenges, 6 advanced maps, a brand new storyline and more than 400 lines of speech with english and french subtitles.... - Tony Miller

Rah, I love you like a brother and all, but the irony of seeing this post right below your Mac rant is PRICELESS!!! - Stupid Blogger (aka Tina)
It had been telling me there was an update for weeks now. The update kept failing. on a whim, I went ahead and told it to go ahead. I don't see why the f*ck I need to restart for a PowerPoint Viewer security update. I do not used that crap. (just for the record, Rah does not have any MAC hate. Just hate seeing iBLeh every other post..LOL) - Rah™
But what if it is a necessary security update? Isn't there some statistic that unpatched XP computers can get viruses in so many minutes? - possible248
+1 for Rah... and then -1 for using Windows... = 0 - Kyle Lacy
I'm avoiding updating Firefox for that reason. - Rochelle
yeah you tell your computer! - James Cooper
Wait, updating Firefox on Windows requires a computer restart? - possible248
possible248, no, but it takes quitting/restarting Firefox which means I'd have to be away from FriendFeed for 30 seconds!!!!!!!!! - Rochelle
I would use a MAC if I could...I think...maybe... - Rah™
Yes Rah.. come to the MAC side..... commmmeee - Kyle Lacy
Nah, just go Linux - Stupid Blogger (aka Tina)
I have 2 Linux boxen downstairs. Also have a MAC downstairs. I think I prefer the convenience of this old XP laptop, though. I wonder if I could do something useful remotely using VNC or something... - Rah™
Why not just put linux on your box? A partition would do the trick. - Stupid Blogger (aka Tina)
Laptop = box in the previous comment, btw... - Stupid Blogger (aka Tina)
Well, I am an old-school Linux guy, but I have been out of the loop as far as hardware support goes. I came up during a time when putting Linux on a laptop was like trying to get a black guy nominated for president, so I never bothered. Also, this laptop only has a 60GB HD, so that was another reason I never bothered. Seemed like not enough room to breathe. - Rah™
If it'll fit XP it'll fit a stripped down Ubuntu - Stupid Blogger (aka Tina)
LOL - Mona N.
See, Tina...now you're making me want to repartition my laptop. Like seriously. I wonder if I could do the dual-boot thing on here. I can't totally ditch XP, but there are things I could probably do MUCH more efficiently in Linux. - Rah™
Check out some of the stripped Unbuntus, or even the pen drive linux that's available. Now THAT's tempting... - Stupid Blogger (aka Tina)

FriendFeed Feedback: Tony C. posted a message
“Is there anyway we can tell if a link has been posted, so we can "like" it and comment instead of adding duplicate posts?”
July 1 at 4:53 am - Link
if would be great if there was some kind feature that combined already shared links together, kind of like Digg... something that simply added a 'like' to an already posted like if no comments were included. it would even be nicer if it could combine notes and comments form other sources as well - nick carrasco
A merge button would be an alternative! - Joe Dawson
I just search the title of the post - possible248
In the meantime, use this to check: http://friendfeedlinks.com - xero
thanks xero, seems like there's a lot of hidden pages in friendfeed - Tony C.
FriendFeed moves so fast... FriendFeedLinks is cool. You can also search the article title with "who:everyone". - Mitchell Tsai
an automatic merger of duplicate links would be cool and the FF machines should do the work, not us (not manually). maybe the FF team could use friendfeedlinks.com ;-) - Gaby Benkwitz ☼
if they were to merge, what happens with different convos going on, I'd say have a number next to it linking to 1 page with all indivdual share's and seperate comments , this way you can see what everyone said and join in many different convos about this link.... example www.link.com: you posted a message (31) ...then clicking on the 31 would take u to the page of 31 entries of this page shared. - Tony C.
Automatic merging sounds interesting, but what would it look like? If you stumble a link, then 5 min later I digg it, do I just show up as a footnote in your submission? Or does it look different depending on who is viewing it and who their friends are? And as stated above comments merging would be a whole other layer of complexity depending on the answer. - Tony Miller

This is pretty much one of my favorite movies. It's interesting to see Crackle showing feature films like this. I'm not sure I'm quite into breaking it up into eight parts, but kudos for good taste at least. - Tony Miller
Update: Well, even though there are eight pieces, they do stream together on their own without the need to click on a link every 10 minutes. It's just an way to put in commercials. The first one was only about 10 seconds though. Not too bad for a free and legal movie. - Tony Miller
